    I've said this for a long time as a Pats fan, Dante Scarnecchia is hands down the most underappreciated coach of all time and in my eyes the greatest O-line coach of all time

      😂 yeah, poor scarnecchia was appreciated in a way, he retired to spend time with his wife and was basically dragged back by RK and BB when he should have been on the beach he’s in Super Bowl LI and he’s on the mic’d up version “don’t do anything you can’t do, just focus on the next play”… that won them the comeback, the bowl and got me through exams and tricky situations!

    Coach Scar will always be a legend, O-line was always so consistent with him, it was noticeable in 2015 when he was gone and it’s very noticeable now that Tom is gone

  • @TheAlfrulz
    @TheAlfrulz Рік тому +12

    I was never aware of Dante Scarnecchia until he retired in 2015. That year the Patriots were denied another trip to the Super Bowl with a loss to Denver in the AFC championship. The Pats o-line was broken in that game as the Broncos d-line won it by getting pressure on nearly every Brady dropback.
    His return and their subsequent championship in 2016 made me take notice.

  • @headcreeps02
    @headcreeps02 Рік тому +4

    Ernie Adams is another unsung hero. Any team is only as good as their offensive line. Controlling time of possession and the game boils down being able to give a running back 4-5 yards per play and giving a QB at least 3-4 seconds before he must throw the ball. If an offensive line can do this, the defense will be adequately rested and the offense will score consistently.

  • @notthatyouasked6656
    @notthatyouasked6656 Рік тому +30

    Scarnecchia retired from the Pats in 2013, but even then was an unofficial staff member. The Pats actually talked him out of retiring in 2016, and he was officially part of the team for another 3 years before retiring for good.

  • @JonnyBoi12

    Their o-line didn't have the biggest names but was always consistent. RBs came to NE and became big names because of it. Lagarrette Blount was the best they had since Dillon, And he was thought to be washed up before going to NE. He and James White were CRUCIAL to those championships. Sony Michel was good too. I will never forget those years of dominance. I can still name the entire roster from 2010-present.

      Same reason they always found randoms to make serviceable contributions. Josh Kline, Bryan Stork, Dan Connolly, Cameron Fleming, LaAdrian Waddle, Marcus Cannon, Ryan Wendell, etc. Also same reason why Von Miller punked Marcus Cannon in the 2015 AFC Title game and the next season, the one where Scar came back, people were editing his Wikipedia page to say the “father” of Von Miller. It’s a special kind of magic.
