I'v got the same identic rod, but with the "ORVIS "hydros"II, that is the second best reel, i tought that 700€ for a reel will be too much for my possibilities.. but I've been amazed by the line, a WF, Trout line in the famous three colors... it's extremly silky and permits to make fabulouos casts also in distance, but with an amazing precision, that is enormously important... I think it's the best fly carbon/graphite rod that you can buy... I also have a bamboo fly rod with bamboo ferrules (no metal ferrules, only bamboo grafts as if it were carbon grafts)... Super resistant, very elegant and with an opposite action from the ORVIS helios 3F, in fact it is a slow and relaxing rod, which casts far and delicately, but with a much more "soft" action. Alberto Poratelli, who is an engineer, architect and rodmaker, designed and built it step by step: he has been the president of IBRA (Italian rodmakers association) for 20 years, (and it's still president), and has won the world rodmaking contest 5 times in a row. For those who believe that bamboo is fragile, I pulled a 7 kg pike on it that kept jumping and "rolling" under the shore ... I didn't think they resisted that much either, but, in any case, both ones (orvis and bamboo ones) have a lifetime warranty, so it is another reason to get an ORVIS ... Sure, it will cost a lot, but it is an investment, and it is a special rod, which already from 8 'is capable of pulling out trout from 3- 4 kg or salmon, pike of 5 kg and more. obviously, it also all lies in the skill of the fisherman, of knowing how to use the frizikne in the right way, keeping the line always in tension etc .. in conclusion: the ORVIS helios 3f for me is one of the best fly rods in the world.😉
Does the 6 weight comes with a fighting butt? Thanks 🙏
