- Episode 4 - Rear Quarter Panel & Rear Crossmember Repair
As always, before we get started - this is a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle Restoration Project, named Helen Wheels. This restoration began in October 2020 and officially finished October 2024. All the footage you see is from past Reels and Posts shared to my Instagram page - @annies_vw
I am not a professional and only offer these videos for entertainment purposes only.
In this episode, we tackle replacing the rear quarter panel and taking on the tricky repair of the rear crossmember on my 1969 Beetle. This footage, re-released from my Instagram reels, captures the process in a montage format, with key tips and tricks added along the way. The rear crossmember repair, in particular, poses some challenges, so I’ll highlight the tricky spots to watch out for during your own project.
What to expect:
• Rear quarter panel replacement on a 1969 VW Beetle
• A tricky rear crossmember repair with insights on how to handle it
• Re-released Instagram footage, repackaged for UA-cam
• Tips and tricks throughout the process to help guide your restoration

Respect Annie. You performed great welding there and know how to approach difficult places to get the best out of them. Well-done👍🏻💪🏻.Greetings.Hubertus🙏🏻🇳🇴🇳🇱🍀🇺🇸

Hey Annie, You are a welder...Kindest Regards👌
Thanks Joe. That really means something coming from you! 🙌
Which welder did you use for this project?
Also, I love that you put the dates in which you worked on this to remind people this is a process. Social media can make it feel like things are faster than they are.
For this project I used a Lincoln Electric MIG Pak 140. Great to learn on. Thanks for watching!!
