I flew a thruster, had a lesson in one. Flying bug been with me since a kid but sadly I had to abort my dream of commercial pilot as I have amyglopia and can’t see well out of one eye. I MUST fulfil my childhood dream and fly but microlighting is so expensive and with a career almost impossible for me to do. It’s a rich man, or a retired man’s game or perhaps possible of you just have the circumstances. I looked at paramotoring but as sole breadwinner for the family with young kids, I can’t risk their future with death or a spinal injury. Flying is so beautiful and it’s my lifelong ambition but it is always so far away from me, either by cruel biology or by my social role. Fly on, good sir. Every video makes me feel better that someone, somewhere is living the dream and sitting in the back seat is as close as I get. I’m glad someone is at least enjoying this wonderful activity. Perhaps I’ll just keep getting lessons forever. It at least means I’m flying, even if I have a babysittter!
There’s no harm in going flying with an instructor now and then, it’s a way to scratch the itch. I paid for my own flying lessons when I was in my late teens. It took a lot of dedication but I was young, didn’t drink much and avoided girls for the duration. Once I’d got my licence then the drinking and wenching resumed 🤣
