I was lucky enough to visit England in 1990 & did take a day trip to Salisbury & Stonehenge. I thoroughly enjoyed England & the people & Salisbury. I only wish that I could return there for a much longer stay & see much more than I was able to all those years ago. Currently unemployed, can't pay my mortgage, & facing oblivion.
Very moving post, Todd. Sorry thst you are having those issues and I pray that they will become history, and you are soon employed and that you can return to England!
Read the novel ‘Sarum’ which inspired me to have a look. Visited on a bitterly cold winter day. Loved every second. Wandered around for hours, then had lunch in town and got the last train back to Fareham. Amazing place.
It's very good but Durham is the best - the finest example of norman architecture in the world, it, and the castle the first ever UK World Heritage Site. It continually takes all the awards for best UK cathedral year after year. It also has a copy of the magna carta etc. I look forward to my next visit to Salisbury Cathedral in 2019!
Salisbury Cathedral is a living church that welcomes half a million people in a year from all over the world who visit as pilgrims, or tourists, or Russian hitmen.
A part of Harry Potter was filmed in the cloisters. I'm not sure but I think it was the part in the triwizard cup, when moody turns Draco into a ferret.
Closed captions are available if you are struggling to hear the clear English voice of David Oakes over the world renowned Father Willis Organ played by Daniel Cook.
Salisbury Cathedral.. Wow, incredible ! BUT, I was HORRIFIED to find a floor commemoration stone to Edward Heath. Knowing what we now do about our former PM: I found this extremely distasteful to say the very least.
One of the best experiences I have ever had on UA-cam.
Thank you for this well-timed and informaive video, and for the great music, too.

This is a breathtaking 6 min video of a beautiful place that I will be visiting this summer. Can't wait.
Yes this cathedral and town is definitely on my wish list of destinations.
I would travel all the way from Moscow to see that church
I live near the cathedral and it is incredible
David, thank you very much!
Thank you Ash for your superb 'vision' in portraying my spiritual "home" ~ a glorious production! Roger
Thanks for posting this. I was hoping to find a video of the inside of the cathedral and here it is! Great to watch.
Beautiful cathedral and very historical!
The most stunningly beautiful cathedral in England..
An incredibly beautiful cathedral with an amazing clock on it.
love mr oakes …...the best.
I'm atheist, but damn I love cathedrals. This is by far the best one.

Notre-Dame de Paris is amazing 😉
Atheism is soooo overrated.
Sgt. No problem

You should include LaFammilia Sacrada among the most beautiful.
This video embodies so perfectly why I got so mind numbingly bored in Australia sun or not sun!
I'd like to visit. Could I have Juan Borgia as tour guide, please?
Just got back from a trip there
Kudos to your videographer. A splendid job.
Thank you! :-) www.AshMills.com

Salisbury: where medieval Gothic meets neuro chemical state-of-the-art.
Porton Down is pretty close
... sponsored by the GRU :)
was this where HP was filmed
ColouredPixels I know I'm three years late but it was filmed at Durham Cathedral.
Perhaps a subjective view of the cathedral and surroundings sir, but nevertheless an interesting video. Thank you. Blessings and peace

With luck, it will become a museum, like St, Sophia!
Looks like Harry Potter was filmed there
It certainly does, and it's our home town too mini

Can’t hear a word with that discordant organ in the background.

Try visiting this beautiful Cathedral yourself then rather than a virtual visit.

What exactly do we know about him now?

The Church of England is very progressive in many parts of the world, so it stsnds to reason that is would be so in England!
He was a closet homosexual

Great exterior by dull inside.
Winchester is the exact opposite.
Will there be a Russian version of this?
