  • Chonya Ros is a Goan preparation of dry white peas. It is popular in Goa as a breakfast meal. Mildly spiced and flavorsome, the white pea ros is enjoyed best with Kaatre Pao, Goan pav, puris, or even rice. It can also be used as a curry at lunchtime.
    Ingredients ( In order of usage )
    White peas - 1 cup
    Potatoes - 2 large
    OIl - 2 tsp
    Onion - 3 sliced
    Garlic - 15 cloves
    Ginger 2 inch
    Green chilies - 4 nos or 6 as per your choice
    Coriander leaves - a handful
    Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
    Curry leaves - 1 stalk
    Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
    Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
    Garam Masala powder - 1 tsp
    Oil - 3 tsp
    Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
    Asafoetida/ Hing - 1/4 tsp
    Onion - 1 no sliced
    Tomato - 1 no sliced
    Salt - to taste
    Coriander Leaves -to garnish
