  • The NCAA leading scorer for most of the 2011-12 season is Damian Lillard of Weber State University.
Enjoy A FEW of his highlights from the 2011-12 season, his junior year at WSU.
Though we have chosen mainly some scoring highlights, don't be mistaken. Damian is a complete package: a tough defender, a great rebounder, a fabulous passer, a phenomenal scorer, exceptional ball handler, and has incredible court awareness. Off the court, he has all the intangibles.
    CONGRATULATIONS TO DAMIAN...
NUMBER 6 PICK IN THE 2012 NBA DRAFT BY THE PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS.

It's been an honor as a Blazer fan to watch this young man shine, Future HOF and greatest Blazer of all time ( Hard to say for me, I grew up in Drexler Porter days as a die hard.) Dame has earned it tho. Dude is unmatched in his loyalty and talent.

Much respect. Lillard is killing it so far. He's leading rookies in almost ever stat, even assists at almost 7 a game (15th overall in the league). A kid from a small school not playing any real competition is scary from a draft point-of-view. He must have killed it at the combine. We know top players come from small schools every now and then, its just a scary risk to take as a GM. Definitely paid off for Portland.

told you so man. the thing i watch for are his fundamentals. keeps his head up all the time, looks up right away off rebounds. you find a 6'3" pg with his speed and shooting ability you take him off the potential. thats why kyrie was drafted 1 despite only playing 10 games the prior season

Not only the first player from Weber to be an All-American, but first from the Big Sky as well. Retire that jersey!
Also, with Kendall Marshall breaking his wrist, don't be surprised if Damian is the first PG taken in the draft.

  • @WeberStateWildcats

Don't be fooled by our selection of scoring highlights to include on the youtube feed. This kid is a complete package. Talk to his teammates, his coaches: Damian has the unique gift of making those around him better. He has been touted the most unselfish player on the floor by his coach. His stats speak for themselves.

Thought I was the only one to focus on that play. Pause it at 0:50 and start scouting. Rebound with ease for a guard (out jumped his big man), down court vision/quickness, finish in traffic. That's all Portland needed to see. Solid NBA player to build around.

Great scorers attract attention from the defense. In his senior season he average 25ppg 5rpg 4apg. not many pgs in the nba are great shooters (nash, curry) he shot 40 from the arc and 85+ ft%. he played 4 years in college and has a lot of experience. keep in mind a "pg" is just a position. he is a complete player and can do it all. if he isnt drafted in the top 9. i would think the hornets would snag him and that would be a pretty solid team.
