    that method of attaching the inner parts of the letter with a bridge to the stencil is genius! this way it you can still get the full letter without a line in the middle like you world just a paper stencil.

    I was thinking it may be easier for you to get your logo in stamp form if possible, maybe 3 different size stamps. Save things getting messy and easier for you to apply for each box you send out?

    Great tutorial 👏🏼 - not sure about the use case for paint though - its ok for packaging, but still think that vinyl cut printers for stencilling is the way to go for anything commercial.

    just for a tip, Once you make the stencil use the stencil-like silkscreen and use paint from a can and a paintbrush to apply the paint.

      That would be cool, although would probably benefit from a slightly different stencil design. Maybe I'll give it a try in a future video:)

    • @CallumColes
      @CallumColes  4 роки тому +6

      Kyle Foley thanks for commenting, glad you figured it out. In case anyone else runs into the same issue the steps at this point are:
      1. Put the text into hole mode.
      2. Align the text into the centre of the rectangle.
      3. Select both the rectangle and the text and click the group button.
      Thanks, Callum

    is it possible to make one flexible enough to use it on curved surfaces??

    • @CallumColes
      @CallumColes  4 роки тому +2

      Christian F Ortiz pretty certain this would work yes, printing nice and thin would allow it to flex. However if the flex is in multiple directions, then it would be better to use a truly flexible material like TPU.

    how do you get your tinker cad so smooth?

    • @CallumColes
      @CallumColes  2 роки тому

      Which bit in particular? A lot of the objects you drag in from the TinkerCad menu have a settings to adjust the number of segments. More segments = smoother. The logo is smooth because it was made as a vector which I believe was shown in the video. If you're trying to make particularly big files, you might find that TinkerCad starts to reduce quality of the overall project, if this happens, try to separate the design into multiple TinkerCad projects.

    Actually I'm having problems again. Right at 3:57 in the video, you get the 3d tomorrow image to group with the square and the text pierces the square. When I try to select on both images, first I'm not sure that I am selecting on both images, but I then try to group them and the first image which has holes, those holes will not penetrate to the back side. So there are only holes on side of the 3d object.

    • @CallumColes
      @CallumColes  4 роки тому

      Hi Kyle, so I think what must be happening is that your text is not completely going through the square, you need to make sure that the text is sticking out from the square on both faces before you do the cut. You can do this by first increasing the height of the text and then moving the text further down into the square so that it sticks out the bottom as well as the top. Once you’re happy the text is sticking out both ends you select both pieces by clicking on them and holding down ‘Ctrl’ on your keyboard. Hope that helps:)

    • @CallumColes
      @CallumColes  2 роки тому

      How small? I'm sure it could be made to work with fairly small details, say 1mm. If you're losing detail, you might find your nozzle is too close to the print bed. You could try increasing the first layer separation or, if you must, print on a raft.
