I'm always so grateful to 1A Auto for their beautiful videos showing me how to do the work that I need to do on my 2006 Hyundai Elantra you guys are thumbs up all the way
Had a god awful squeal when turning the steering wheel to far because the belt was to loose. Don't know crap about cars but this helped me tighten up the belt. Thank you.
Yes sr thanks for the video. My 2009 accent has same belt set up. Power steering belt makes noise. Wont stop for the life of me..turn the wheel (squeal) start in the morning (squeal)...replaced belt still noise?? Any ideas sr.??? I see this is a common problem for Hyundais in general. Also I tightened it to specs (squeal) no Matter what...( squeal) is there a pulley bearing possibly for this car
Hello, I found your vides very helpful, thank you so much. I been trying to find a video on how to replace a power steering pump on 2002 Hyundai sonata V6, Do you have one available for this task? I tried to figure how to, but the pump is in the bottom passenger side which is not a walk in the park lol,
Replace a belt if it squeaks, Replace a hose if it leaks. If you are replacing hoses, it’s a good idea to go ahead and replace belts too since you’re already in there. Belts are cheap.
Does the same rule apply to a 2003 Hyundai Accent, because every time is turn my steering wheel, press on the brakes, or even start my car up, it sounds like a pig squealing bloody murder, and the noise hardly ever goes away. I believe it's the Power Steering Belt. Because the fluids are all good and filled.
Thank you for watching. Sounds like it may be time to replace the belt. Here is a link to the part for your vehicle on our website. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 www1.1aauto.com/search?model=808&categoryNameFld=Serpentine+Belts&q=*&year=2003?VideoReply&VideoReply&ATony
Helpful video, but 99% of your viewers don't have the use of a lift. You should do these videos in a driveway where you only have use of a small floor jack and jack stands....
Did my 04 in the driveway just now. You can bend that lower shield back without taking it off. Its easy. I would hate to take all the bolts out for it. Didnt use a lift took about thirty min in driveway.
+James Chuaycham It might make it easier to replace it while your already in there. You could also just check the condition of the alternator belt while you're there. Look for cracks or glazing, and decide if it needs to be changed. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393
I actually did this to my Hyundai only I removed the Alternator bolts top and bottom. I cant get the bolt back in the top of alternator....should I redo the whole thing and take the ps pump off instead??
My Elantra is an '03...the steering fluid was full but I was having steering issues. Within a day the belt broke, heat shut down, car locked up...also, there's fluid all shot out from the front and under the hood at the same time...I'm currently learning to put new belt on and I'm not sure, yet, what caused fluid spraying. Thanks for your vids and time.
+Brendan This vehicle has an alternator belt that will have to be removed to access the power steering belt. There are two belts on this vehicle and this video can be used to remove both. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com

thank you so much, I was able to do the job with no problem, Thank youuuuuuuu
How would I know if I need to replace the belts or if I just need to replace the power steering hose?
Replace a belt if it squeaks,
Replace a hose if it leaks.

Thanks dude. I am doing a hyundai matrix which is a very similar set up.

Is it a good idea to also replace an alternator belt as well if I need to replace a power steering belt (due to squeaky noise)?

My bracket was bent...that is what the problem was. I got it straightened out and got a new bolt...good as new.
thank u! big help!!
Very good.
What's the part number? I can't find this belt on your site, you have the ad and alternator belt though
We currently do not carry the power steering belt. Thank you for checking. Have a great day!
Is that a GTO in the background?
It sure is!..Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
So I have a squeaky belt, but I also have hard steering problems. Where I should I start. Power steering fluid is full.
+Nick Moore If the belt is slipping a lot you may want to see if that is what is causing the hard steering issue.
