I used the 40% transfer bonus from Chase to Virgin Atlantic. With the transfer bonus and the cheap VA flights right now I was able to get 12.7 CPP. It was 22,000 points and $366.50 in taxes/fees for a family of 5 from New York to London!!!

@@ronburn Just did a quick search for you for Europe large airports to East Coast hubs, For September, Im seeing 55k on AF business class for several dates mid month from MAD/BCN to JFK/BOS. Hope that helps :)
It’s going to take more work, but there are now more opportunities to get seats for less points and significantly less taxes. My question, is the bid for upgrade still available? If so, buying a 9,000 point economy seat and bidding for PE or UC could be the hack for best value.
