It's also worth discussing that while in pop culture they're often portrayed as villains/antagonists or just purely as evil, the Bible actually doesn't imply they are inherently evil. If anything they're portrayed as doing God's work, because the Lamb (Jesus) is the one breaking the seals and summoning them. Meaning the four horseman are a force of good bringing about the end times in order to prepare mankind for God's return and eventually bringing mankind back to heaven. Malevolent forces being used to do good. Something that no adaptation or fictional use of the horsemen ever gets right nor understands.

The biggest part of the Four Horsemen is the representation of the first horsemen. In many accounts there seems to make him out to be TWO symbols of the same thing: pestilence/starvation which goes more hand in hand with the third horseman, Plague. But (even in the bible) the first horsemen isn't Pestilence or Starvation, but Conquest. This still confuses me but I'm glad you brought it up too.

This is why I believe the Apocalypse hasn't happened yet only 4 of the 7 seals were broken the other 3 seals were never broken there for it didn't trigger the Apocalypse once the other 3 seals are broken is when the world will end. Haven't the Four Horsemen of the Apocalyps always been with us since recorded history and even in ancient mythology? Violent conquest, supressive military might, famine, disease, war, an opulent and self centered upperclass, death and destruction, there's really nothing new under the sun. I think that the book of Revelations and its apocalyptic visions express a yearning for the destruction of these plagues that have ruined the lives of so many, while benefitting so few. The desire for an apocalyps is the craving for a more just, a kinder and more peaceful society and is of all times. There's also an element of gloating in it, more or less comparable to Job, sittting down and eagerly awaiting the destruction of Nineveh, the moral sesspool that was the capital of the Assyrian empire. Or to the predicted demise of Babylon in the book of Daniel. It also bares a ressemlence to the plagues that befell Egypt, when the Israelites wanted to wander off to the promised land. In all instances there's an empire involved, that's being regarded as inherently impure, decadent and opressive to the righteous and which evokes a desire for its demise among Israelites and in this case the early christians (which originated from a jewish cult). As far as the present day is concerned, it is no different among some orthodox and militant muslims, that regard the West in pretty much the same qualifications. And in part western dominance in world affairs especially in the muslim world may well have provoked that sentiment. In another sense, our civilization seems to have come at a crossroads, where the evils of old have returned once more, judging by the growing inequality, elites caring for themselves only and many having to struggle to earn a decent living. That may well instill a fear of impending of doom and gloom.
Oil and wine could represent the Holy Spirit (oil) and the blood of the lamb (wine). So you may attack the grain/wheat harvest, which is the people, but don't touch the ones in Jesus.
@ I take it that is talking about the rapture. The mark of the beast/ones filled with the world, would flag the ones staying for the wrath of the lamb, while the ones marked with oil/wine/blood of Jesus and the anointing of the Holy Spirit, would be "passed over" and taken up with Jesus.

Its easy to fear the four horsemen and what they bring and represent... but the heart is truly wise to fear the sovereign God that binds up or releases these horsemen... the sovereign God that has already conquered death and the grave and freely gives refuge from the temporal horrors of an apocalypse and the eternal horrors of hell. A proper "fear" of this God brings peace and salvation to the soul. Be those with the white robe that wait patiently for the Lord's final judgement... not those that hide in caves and wish for the rocks to fall and bury them. Your life has eternal and very grave consequences if you reject the Christ. Flee to him, simply lay hold of what he freely gives... complete pardon of sin, perfect righteousness counted as yours and the promise of eternal life with ever increasing joy. Its better than anything the great deceiver can promise you here in this temporal world.

It makes no sense to ride your horse only one time. I imagine them going for a ride in 1914 and in 1939. The coronavirus panic may prompt them to go for another ride followed by the judgements of the seven trumpets and\or the judgement of the seven bowls. I dreamt about a huge black horse that came running out of the sky two days ago. The sky was a dark purple then it turned to a deep deep dark black. And the horse was as a mountain I could only see it's front left leg. It was frightening to say the least. I've never had a dream like that in my life.

These are figurative characters not nations or countries. The four horseman are biblical and represent the chastening and judgment of God. Though these are preliminary judgments they will accomplish that which the Lord purposed compared. I have a book on the market called, The Interpretation of The Second Seal by Clive Richards which gave the interpretation of the second seal. In that book it gives the full meaning and interpretation of what the red horse represent.
The white rider doesn't wear a typical crown... In latin, it is written as "corona" which means "a feathered wreath" which is typically worn by roman deities.
It sounds like the first could also represent ambition and or pride, the second could represent wrath and war, the third can be famine of course but through Greed, and the fourth horsemen is indisputable "he is death with hades riding behind him" he is our end brought upon by the 3 before him. pumkinpatch I had a dream very similar as a teenager. Sky was orange/red but there were these flying scaly monstrosities terrorizing people and slaughtering them. A giant dragon serpent type thing was flying around a humongous moon in the sky but none of them seemed to see or be interested in me. Very vivid. That was close to 20 years ago.

It's also worth discussing that while in pop culture they're often portrayed as villains/antagonists or just purely as evil, the Bible actually doesn't imply they are inherently evil. If anything they're portrayed as doing God's work, because the Lamb (Jesus) is the one breaking the seals and summoning them. Meaning the four horseman are a force of good bringing about the end times in order to prepare mankind for God's return and eventually bringing mankind back to heaven.

The biggest part of the Four Horsemen is the representation of the first horsemen.
In many accounts there seems to make him out to be TWO symbols of the same thing: pestilence/starvation which goes more hand in hand with the third horseman, Plague. But (even in the bible) the first horsemen isn't Pestilence or Starvation, but Conquest. This still confuses me but I'm glad you brought it up too.

Haven't the Four Horsemen of the Apocalyps always been with us since recorded history and even in ancient mythology? Violent conquest, supressive military might, famine, disease, war, an opulent and self centered upperclass, death and destruction, there's really nothing new under the sun. I think that the book of Revelations and its apocalyptic visions express a yearning for the destruction of these plagues that have ruined the lives of so many, while benefitting so few. The desire for an apocalyps is the craving for a more just, a kinder and more peaceful society and is of all times. There's also an element of gloating in it, more or less comparable to Job, sittting down and eagerly awaiting the destruction of Nineveh, the moral sesspool that was the capital of the Assyrian empire. Or to the predicted demise of Babylon in the book of Daniel. It also bares a ressemlence to the plagues that befell Egypt, when the Israelites wanted to wander off to the promised land. In all instances there's an empire involved, that's being regarded as inherently impure, decadent and opressive to the righteous and which evokes a desire for its demise among Israelites and in this case the early christians (which originated from a jewish cult).
As far as the present day is concerned, it is no different among some orthodox and militant muslims, that regard the West in pretty much the same qualifications. And in part western dominance in world affairs especially in the muslim world may well have provoked that sentiment. In another sense, our civilization seems to have come at a crossroads, where the evils of old have returned once more, judging by the growing inequality, elites caring for themselves only and many having to struggle to earn a decent living. That may well instill a fear of impending of doom and gloom.

A proper "fear" of this God brings peace and salvation to the soul. Be those with the white robe that wait patiently for the Lord's final judgement... not those that hide in caves and wish for the rocks to fall and bury them. Your life has eternal and very grave consequences if you reject the Christ. Flee to him, simply lay hold of what he freely gives... complete pardon of sin, perfect righteousness counted as yours and the promise of eternal life with ever increasing joy. Its better than anything the great deceiver can promise you here in this temporal world.

Ultimately effecting the present time and causing chaos in the near future.

It makes no sense to ride your horse only one time. I imagine them going for a ride in 1914 and in 1939. The coronavirus panic may prompt them to go for another ride followed by the judgements of the seven trumpets and\or the judgement of the seven bowls.

I dreamt about a huge black horse that came running out of the sky two days ago.
The sky was a dark purple then it turned to a deep deep dark black. And the horse was as a mountain I could only see it's front left leg.

I see the first knight as the knight of chaos, weakening the order of the world by filling the hearts of men with desire for power and ambition, so that the other horsemen can follow. I think this because, back in the day, archers were used to weaken and harass enemy armies with volleys of arrows, retreating as soon as they got too close. I also find unlikely that any country could ever go to war after being decimated by a plague.

Though these are preliminary judgments they will accomplish that which the Lord purposed compared. It sounds like the first could also represent ambition and or pride, the second could represent wrath and war, the third can be famine of course but through Greed, and the fourth horsemen is indisputable "he is death with hades riding behind him" he is our end brought upon by the 3 before him. He collects the dead and brings them on to the next world.
