The engineer can turn off the bell after stopping and after leaving each station. The bell is to be rung when approaching or leaving stations and when crossing a roadway.
Did you not have to transfer to a different train for the Blue Line branch? When I went as a teen way back in the 80s you had to transfer at some point to a different train that then went on the Blue Island branch. Maybe they dont do that anymore
Nah most trains to blue island start at millennium station and go all the way down to blue island You just have to get on the right train that goes to blue island Although I've seen like 1 or 2 trains to blue island start on 115th
The view leaving Chicago is dreary and dismal and depressing. You see empty right of way where tracks and maybe lay-up used to be. I believe this is the old IC Electric Line. It's just a sad sight.
Nice Graham White Electronic Bell 😀👍.
Good video. I take the mainline from time to time.
Superb
Loved the video. Thanks. How do the engineers stand the nearly constant warning bells??

RFW - Railfan Window. The view out the front window
49:38 that could’ve been a possibility derailment right, tracks aren’t aligned correctly it seems
I believe that is a spring switch
Do you recall date and time of day?
