Thanks for the tyre info, was thinking about fitting these, my Goodyear G90s are noisy, slippery in the wet and due for a change. Thanks for all your videos.
I have a Series2 that had been sitting for a while and had a noisy crash box. Put in a 50ml bit of "LUBRI MOLY GEAR ANTI-FRICTION" , and within 100 miles it was significantly quieter. My old '58 VW bus used to frequently pop out of reverse, and same stuff helped. I live in subarctic Alaska and drive my Landy year-round. Worth a try 👍
I actually added "ZX1" to the gearbox oil, simply because the bronze bush that 3rd gear runs on always seems to suffer lack of lubrication in these gearboxes.
nice did you hear about the Guiness World Record attempt in Market Harborough in a month or so ..they are trying to get the most landys in Convoy ....I'm going as I'm local to the event
Yes I did, a little bit off my patch. It'll be interesting to see the result. Land Rover events in middle England always seem to be well attended- we are not so well served for such events in the South East corner.
@@steamwally ah shame you won't be there there's a bigger show in Peterbourgh tbh I think more people are switching to defender's these days suppose they are better at distance work ...tbh mine's not in regular use so it's 50/50 I'll make it and I'd only 10 miles from the event
I rebuilt my gearbox several years ago after it destroyed its reverse gear. It never jumped out of reverse right up until it failed. Anyhoo I fitted a new reverse gear and all the bearings throughout and seals and the bloody thing jumps out of reverse…and it’s getting worse definitely not bedding in … so I need one of those reverse gears you mentioned coz it drives me nuts
The truck looks great. I love your videos. I just got a LR 84 Santana and it’s so LOUD. I don’t mind it being crazy loud inside while driving. It’s the bloody noise outside. My neighbors are going to kill me. Any suggestions to make less noisy exhaust system?
The standard exhaust on a petrol Land Rover, Santana or Rover, are very quiet, so I guess you have a non standard system? Diesels are noisy, you can hear them several streets away... they'll just have to put up with it if it's a diesel.
Thanks for sharing the ride along with us.
Great to see another update. Keep 'em coming and well done on a cracking job of keeping this superb vehicle in fine shape. 🙂
It’s running beautifully. Look forward to another year of your videos.
Your skills and enthusiasm are very inspiring to me. Keep up the great work. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for the update. Gotta say, the skinny tyres look great on a series vehicle
Looking great, glad to see you’re out enjoying it.

Thanks, a set of XZL's will not disappoint.
I thought the standard fix for the gear slipping out, was to tie the stick in place with a bit of rope.
Thanks for the interesting update 👍

Lovely truck 👍
I like the sound of the series gearboxes, as it is like the sound of an e-vehicle ... so Series are lightyears ahead of the present discussion😉
Nice land rover love a series 3

Yup, very annoying! It's no problem in normal driving, just under heavy loads it's a pain.

Seems very whiny. I do not think I could stand it myself .........would need ear plugs to drive it more then a mile
A few thousand miles on and it's much quieter. All new gears inside.
