- Hey everyone and welcome back to Iowa classic cars! Today's video features a huge classic muscle car junkyard that I know about, this yard has over 400+ chevelles, elcaminos, monte carlos, etc! Any type of muscle car from the 1960s and 1970s can be found here in various stages of being parted out. The owner is a good friend of mine and once he allows me to share info for his yard, I will do so! Make sure to subscribe for more junkyard tours and classic car salvage yard walkthroughs!
thanks for watching!

If only these cars could talk, and tell us how they wound up here, and what happened to them.......Sounds like a good movie idea!
Lol it would be pretty cool
Man I couldn't agree more with ya Mike!!
That row of el Caminos made me cry a little.
Wow I could weeks there so amazing. Love those 58's
Like l said before, they all have there own story. Nothing lasts forever. You do a great job saving as many as you can. 👍💞🇺🇸
Yup exactly
Love the back ends of those 60 Pontiacs...
60 Pontiac nicest car ever made had 2 parisiene in.1972 mint 348 4speed in one and 283 in other/auto should have sold my girlfriend instead of ca
Wow!
Man I would love to walk through that junkyard. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Thanks for watching
Man you guys have a good time scoping out classic cars. Wish it was me!!!
yep its fun!
Ryan, excellent tour of the boneyard. A lot of what used to be great cars. I was a kid when it was the heyday of those cars and I loved them then as I do today. Thanks for sharing. Big Al.
Thanks man!
Good grief. I need so many things for my 60 el camino and I see them all! Lol. May have to fly out there from VA. Damn. 👍👍
Haha sorry to tease!
Love the wagons!
Agreed!
I remember hunting through yards like this in the UK about twenty years ago but the government made traditional yards like this illegal, countless rare classics got destroyed and the price of a classic here now has skyrocketed. You'd be hard pressed to pay less than a few grand for any of these cars if they were in the UK, even in those conditions.
My heart hurts... Thank you for sharing
What a cool junkyard I would love to walk it just to see all the awesome metal 👍🏻
I had two 1970 Monte Carlo 454 Super Sports, one white, white halo top, blue interior, the other, autumn gold, no vinyl top, black bucket seat interior...
Man I know it was your car but I really miss that car!!!!!
Nice muscle car junk yard
There's no yards like this in Canada, if I could stumble upon something like this I'd be like a kid in a candy store!!
There are one or two left. National Moparts in Beaverton, Ontario part out Mopars. They chopped up a nice triple black ‘68 Roadrunner.
Theres another in Newcastle, Ontario. An old ‘70’s yard in the hills(closed a long time ago but you can ask nicely to go in).
Roblins in Demortsville, Ontario.
Theyre around, just have to go on more roadtrips.
@@chrisdidomizio4958 thanks for the info I'll have to take a drive out some time and see them! I appreciate it, any more info on old cars I would gladly appreciate!
@@bennyc6694 another way is to scroll on google maps.
Ive seen 2 yards crushed and it broke my heart. Should have bought the ‘71 charger R/T and the 383 4 speed ‘68. The R/T was $400 and the 68 got crushed-that was in 2006.
Side note, I went to check out a ‘68 Ford Torino Drag Pack project car 4 years ago And the owner had a ‘64 thunderbolt(A real one!) project hidden in a trailer.
I grew up with these cars. I could name them in the dark
nice
You walked right by a 67/68 blue cougar
i’m a 2nd gen camaro lover myself. the first time i ever saw a z-28 second gen i told myself i’d own a beauty one day. 2020 was finally the year. and i love her! she’s a ls3 swap, wish it was still numbers matching but she is a factory 4 spd. hoping to get a 5 or 6 speed someday.
Great video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
Excellent!
My gfs dream car is a 2 dr 67-72 chevelle, I’d love to purchase any of these
My wife has been wanting me to build her a 68-70 Chevelle also!! Well here's the thing?,.. I'm a Mopar guy thru and thru, and own quite a few so,.. she'll probably be getting a 68-70 (Roadrunner, Cuda or Challenger) "Chevelle"!! 🤣
Lets see more of those Chevelles. One thing about the yards in your part of the country, more rust. The one yard I go to, most of the cars are from the High Desert area of Eastern Washington , and Eastern Oregon, a lot less rust, but more variety where you are. Great vids, keep them coming, enjoy your tours!
Thanks for watching
Do they have any early 70s vega front clips?
Great tour. Amazing to see that many surviving parts cars!
Thanks bud!
I found the 1 of 1 made Pontiac version of that F-Body!! It's in one of my junkard walk videos!!
hens teeth!
@@IowaClassicCars I'm more of a Henway fan
My dad had a 1960 Nomad wagon 348. Every option except a/c.
Excelent place that you show us buddy....my heart still beating fast from seeing so many chevys resting in the field. I would like them all to myself hahaha.
Thanks 👍
Where is this located? You don’t see stuff like this anymore
He doesnt want me to share location yet
@@IowaClassicCars ok cool would love to eventually visit and picc up one of those Impalas
Patina is the new word for rust
If we knew then what we know now, all floors would be put in with a zipper...
On the older cars you can get the year model off the tailights
Yup i wish i knew more of them lol
Some of those would make good drag car builds.
Are you selling parts looking for 1973 Monte Carlo
You should rename this video Classic Impala, Bel Air- All others glanced over Junkyard
I've been looking for a front clip or at least the nose n grill from a early 70s vega. Where is this place located?
love the 53 chevy at 15;44.
awesome yard
If you could look more at the 67/68 cougars that would be awesome
i junked a few yrs ago lol
@ 15:50 That Buick Sport Wagon is worth restoring. Check out the 3 roof windows like the Vista Cruisers had. They bring money.
Me first car was a 68 Skylark so I have a soft spot for them and the GS' 67 to 70. Some day I would like to build one... And build it right.
saw a 1961 Buick special 4dr not many of them surprised. no corvairs take some pictures of the dealer names on the back of the cars
Those things have been picked clean, crusher time
"In know Hell is really hot, but is it humid?" Yes, it is...
I'm lookin' for a 67 Chevelle frame. Mine is swiss cheese . Great vid.
Look at the 1967 lmpala.4door.or 2 door.
I need to find an El Camino hulk to get back on the road.
Would absolutely love to walk through there. Would probably get a trailer full of parts for my 62 bubbletop and maybe even a whole 62 4 door to save a 62 impala convertible I found.
As soon as i can share info i will!
@@IowaClassicCars appreciate it!! Everything near me is rusty as hell so they’re just good for trim basically. Don’t blame you one bit. I keep my spots to myself until I know Ive pulled everything I could ever want
Would like to see some Chevelles up close
Next time i go there ill film it!
@@IowaClassicCars thanks so much
you might find a part here n there for a project car your already working on but not get a whole car to restore
I could never live in the US, i would end up in poverty by trying to save all these scrap cars.
Lol im headed that way 🤣🤣
@@IowaClassicCars To have something healthy to eat is more important, doesnt matter how far the car love goes.
Another great salvage yard tour! Still waiting to see if you can help me out with some 55 chevy parts. Thanks, great tour
Ive been lookinv
Hi Ryan , the only people who pony up, are the few that can fix them themselves. Thousands in Restoraions @$100. 00 per hour. Do it yourself and save big $$$
absolutely
Another cool video. I would be like a kid in a candy store there. And I have to agree with you on the Monte Carlos. They make a nice luxury/gentleman's muscle car. But not a real raw muscle car. I could have bought a very nice triple black 72 Monte, big block (402) a couple years ago. But he was asking top dollar for the car (and car was beautiful). But if I were going to spend that kind of money for a car. I could think of a lot of other cars that I would rather buy. Another thing I didn't like about them was, Chevy made the front ends so long, that the 1st thing that I notice whenever I open their hood, is the fact that they have a fan shroud that has to be 2 feet wide. This is because the engine is so far away from the actual radiator. But that's just my opinion. Thanks for the video.
Thanks man!
If you like Chevrolets this video is for you
Awesome yard, thanks for showing us!
Are you able to share the location yet?
Not yet sorry he doesnt want it shared yet
Can you please share the location… Im interested in a few of these cars
You'd be surprised at the condition of cars now being restored.
I saw a couple 70 impalas makes me sick to see them junked such a unique year. Good video
Tell me about it my buddy had one and we watched it years back get picked up with crusher claw sad sad times
Awsome yard I need that driver side fender off that first Vega Hatchback that laying o nthe front of it wondering what type of shape its in I've been looking for one for 5 years for mine 72
Why are most of the front clips removed?
Sold long ago
How far do u travel I spend all day on UA-cam looking at these gems they don’t build them like those anymore
i go all over the country
One of your earliest videos I saw you were rebuilding a 59 el camino, and haven't saw any updates what happened to the car it was red
Thats my buddies car. We can do an update video sometime!
You definitely need to go back and pick up that 2 door hardtop. Then go pick up the 2 door hardtop at Easy Jack's and mate the two together.
If you ever find a 1970 Buick rear bumper in decent shape for a decent price, grab on to it. They are harder to come by than the 1960 impala bumper. The Buick guru's go crazy over them. (One year only and not reproduced)
I got one of his hardtops before it got crushed, Easy jacks 2 dr ht has no vin so he does not want to sell it
Interesting to see, I'm chasing after 61 galaxie bits if you can let me know.
if you were to buy one of those cars to rebuild, do you get something like a salvage title or rebuild title?
Well I wished you to turn around there was a 67 or 68 first gen cougar I wanted to look at
I’d really like to check out those old comets, are any of those mid 60s Fords & Mercury’s for sale ?
What year of comet you looking for and where do you live????
Got any 69 -74 novas at all .I like to find a project nova
Everyone wants a nova lol
I saw few 70 impala 2dr.customs need some parts for my 70 caprice 2dr.
I'm really looking for a 66 malibu wagon
Every stumble across any midwesr Henry Js?
Can you give the location info on your 400 salvage.yard tour dated April 2021. I saw a Pontiac on there I would like to inquire about. Thanks
Work with what you can save. 👍
Exactly
Not one 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix. I have one in my garage with a tweaked fender.
The white 2 dr pontiac @ 5:49 is a 64 bonneville.....i need parts off it for mine....the red convertible is a 63 catalina the other pontiac convertible next to it is a 61 bonneville.....pretty rare car being a 61 drop top bonnie.....most any 61 fullsize is pretty hard to find......in saveable shape.....
I didn't see a single item not worthy of the CRUSHER.. few pars
Another great video that had me envious. Is this a chev only yard. I know fords aren't everyone's bag but a few would be nice. Also when you say "not worth fixing" I have to giggle, here in Australia you should se what gets resurrected. She'll be right Garages channel are rebuilding an aussie made hardtop out of basically a pair of rusty quarter panels. Check what he is doing before you write off a car. It would be nice to save them all.
Thanks
You're in Iowa Joe
The day will come when even these crusty pieces will be restored!
Subbed!
Thank you
Where are some of yards in Iowa.
Where is this place? I’m interested in going there myself to see the 1965 or newer stuff
I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. I would enjoy walking around the yard with you.
I am looking for a nice glove box saddle in color for a 69 el Camino. Any way you could help me ?
Thanks Larry, I will ask the owner
Rougher then a night in jail 😂😂😂
🤣🤣👍
Great old yard. Can anyone walk it? Can anyone buy whole cars or parts?
Do they have any 68 or 69 buick skylark 4 doors or sportwagons?
This guy's idea of patina is in a car entirely covered in rust. That's not patina that's a rust bucket.
Where on Iowa is this ?? And do they have any 75 - 79 chevy nova's ?? Or just novas
I'd love to find a 72 Chevelle or 75 Camaro body for a project.
I'm in Waterloo IA and would love to find parts for my 1970 El camino . How can I access to this yard ? I also have a friend looking for 68/69 olds cutlass frames .
Once he lets me share info, i will!
@@IowaClassicCars thank you
I'll buy cars if I need to .
I have a 59 El Camino. Is two springs on both sides of the rearend a factory upgrade? I've seen 59' s without the 4 springs on the rearend.
With lines of cars to pick parts off of I can restore anything ..
No 67 Olds 442's ?
El Camino row.
Yup and chevelle row lol
Where is this junkyard located
They stood in rows, rusted and forgotten with tears running down their faces, wondering who'd be next in line to be crushed. You don't stay long in the junkyard. You're seeing one crushed and replaced with a modern version of the early model. A large forklift drifted silently looking for his next victim
This guy doesnt crush old stuff
I am only interested in Pontiac A or B body ,'57 to '65
I spotted a 1966/67 buick sport wagon. Is it possible to purchase the roof? If so how much. This is one of my favorite videos
I can ask him
Find me a 1964 Chevy ElCamino, or at least parts to build one 😅
Are they anymore Vegas in this yard beside the 3 first gens at the start of your vid
