And sadly, I still wouldn't mind that portable Blu-Ray player. The one I've got has a 14-inch screen and doesn't play discs from other parts of the world.

when i was a kid i took it apart and instead tore up the circuit board. later on i became really interested in technology because of this odd reason. thanks to this video i am now an engineering technology major.

While the AA batteries themselves are a dead giveaway that it isn’t, i can easily believe a VCR or DVD player having some kind of battery/safeguard for power outages.

Hey wait a minute! None of that was inside my VCR! All I found inside my VCR were two bags wrapped inside a Dukakis/Bentsen '88 sticker, one full of flour and the other full of parsley or oregano or chives or something! So I said to myself "Well, it's not a total loss, I guess I'll go bake myself a batch of cookies to cheer myself up at least." The cookies turned out all right, but NOW I'm being attacked by little VCR monsters, they're real, and they're everywhere, somebody help me!

I remember when I do e st watched this (when I was in 2nd grade) I would be so afraid of the VCR monster. I would over think and say: what if you ran out of marshmallows? Would it oil you? Can you trap it?

Only the batteries at the beginning was (just barely) believeable.
Yes, there could conceivably be batteries in an electronic device like that for some sort of memory backup for some purpose, like maybe backup power for the clock if power goes out, but as anyone who remembered having VCRs can tell you, the clock would ALWAYS flash 12:00 when the power went out so obviously it had no battery backup, or at least not in any vcrs I ever had.
How on earth did a monster survive all those years in a VCR?

Not all VCRs have these treasures. My old VCR was a cheap-o "Soony" model. I opened it up and the batteries were 9 volts, the iPods were pre loaded with 80s crap and the monster was dead. I ate the marshmallows myself.

I tore my VCR apart and found the body of steve jobs. He was a robot constructed from used iPod and macbook parts. There was even an iPhone 8 in there as well

I find that just throwing them against the ground works too. If you throw it hard enough, it'll explode into the latest next-gen consoles, a super advanced PC that can actualy find the meaning of life, a copy of all mario games produced 2000-2020, and the best prize of all, a nuke gatling gun. After a couple attemts I also found that if there's a VCR monster in there, they'll become friendly, but will need more marshmellows to feed than a regular one.

i tried to this but my VCR monster doesn't seem to like marshmallows, He wont move! I would just pick him up and chuck him, but I'm afraid he might bite my finger and that would hurt really bad, What should I do?
I also tried turning the VCR on and off, but that didn't seem to have any effect...

Eat the marshmallows so you put cookies. This also happened, and they love cookies more than marshmallows! And if you give him a marshmallow sandwich with cookies they will get bigger. I have one in my house,he's very nice.

When I took my VCR apart,

I did this. As it turns out, my VCR was actually a Raspberry Pi 3 with a USB VHS adapter, and it's many inputs are from a Framemeister. There was also an iPod Touch.
I went to a resale shop and bought a VCR for nostalgia.... Took it apart and found previous owner hid cash in it...
IT ACTUALLY WORKED! Got a blue ray player, black ops 2, a leaf blower, and a laptop!
