JazakAllah khair for that ... a couple years ago, I looked into 101 of Tai Chi, crash course on UA-cam. From this one trainer, it was about how to stand against the wall, bend a little, then stand move arms slowly while breathing. I was, yeah, I like the slowness of this. Later on, Salah time came. I stood in position, raised my hands to say Takbeer, then I did that slowly. I even read the surats and all Salah prostrations ... etc in the same manner, mimicking Tai Chi slowness. Then, it hit me. SubhanAllah, one'd stand hours in Tai Chi (Yoga) positions/ stances, yet when it comes to Salah, one rushes it - like other routine acts. Afer that, I dropped the Tai Chi. I have always had what I need.

Heard someone talk about how we need meditate more. and then realised the same way, reminded me of that one narration that one of the sahabi needed to have his limb amputated and he asked them to do that during salah. That is the level of khushoo we need in our salah.. and then we wont need all these extras from others and their religions.

I think it's no harm to have a Christmas 🌲 for a Muslim if they know it has nothing to do with faith, devotion, Islam. I think it's much more confusing to compare yoga to the the Islamic prayer practice as valid as long as they are practised as an act of devotion. Yoga CAN be a physical practice, the performance of the salat, shouldn't. You do not have to be a yogy to practice yoga or believe in one god. But that calls into question: Question: are all those who perform the salat daily devout decent Muslims? If your answer is no, you are an observer. If the answer is yes, it means that you are able to look into millions of people's soul....wow...I could never be that confident!

I've meditated on this a bit and I appreciate your sharing. Not sure I've collected my thoughts into a clean UA-cam comment yet haha... But I've sort of always wished Islam contained a physical practice, like a martial arts and breathing techniques toward self actualization / enlightenment. I mean our tradition has so many interesting stories about the prophet, peace and blessings, and sahaba too having spiritual visions, astral traveling, and these kind of deep psycho/spiritual experiences and transformations, like feeling as if they're walking in jannah during salah or seeing jinn in the desert after drinking nabith. But from what I see, nowadays the salah and fasting is just something to complete 5x with respect. And there is wisdom in that, so the masses will participate (because they wouldn't if it was too esoteric as "most of them do not reflect"). So what I've come to thus far, is that Islam is a kernel for an OS. It is the core algorithm upon which humans can build culture. Islam doesn't dictate culture really, as far as what food, clothing, exercise, and breathing techniques, after basic halal/haram is considered. Islam lights up these aspects of human life for me. Ok, Islamifying an Xmas tree is a bit of a stretch, but things like kung fu, yoga, meditation, entheogens seem to fit nicely into the Islamic algorithm. Experiment still ongoing tho! Salams from Virginia USA ♡

We actually do have all that you've describe and it is in obligatory solat. An ulema explain beautiful manners how Solat consist of all the self - actualisation practise, the "yoga" movement in sujud, ru'ku and takbir - why do we have to put our hand, feet and even stroke our ear, wipe our feet in abulation in a certain way taught by Sunnah. It is all to fulfill the prophecy of being a vicegerent on earth. There is several academic journal written in Indonesia by scientific scholars that explain the effect of Tahajjud on our cognitive-psychology, alpha brainwave, and optimal oxygen level in the air from the period of time that Tahajjud is asked to be done. The concept of earthing in sujud etc

When yoga was originated there was no religion other than hinduism or sanatan dharma. Yoga is the outcome of a very extensive research done by our ancient rishis and ultimately maharishi Patanjali compiled it thoisands of years ago. All the process, mantras, asanas, mudras are very much scientific. Nothing should be changed or modified to get 100% benefit.

@@himansusekhardas4526Bhaijan idol worship goes against the very nature of Islam. The core belief is that everything in existence (imaginable or not) in essence is a makhlooq (creation) and then on the other hand you have the ultimate all powerful, unimaginable, uncreated God (a concept sort of similar to what you what call the brahmaan in Hinduism) who is the one and only in essence khaliq (creator). The right of worship in our faith belongs only to the Khaliq and not makhlooq which is the very core principle of Islam. Worship to the makhlooq is termed as shirk and therefore a very severe sin in Islam.
I hope I answered your question brother.

@sattarahmed47 in Hinduism dharma is more important than religion or majhab. You may follow any religion, majhab, book, Guru, but dharma is same for all. For example, honesty, truthfulness, kindness, forgiveness are few dharmas which every one should have. Rituals, rules are religion specific. Islam has asked to walk on a straight path, not this way or that way. But in Hinduism everyone has his own path. Inspite of a single path prescribed in islam, people have divided it into many, sunni, Shia, barelvi, deobandi etc etc. Whereas Hinduism has unlimited firqas. Only difference is we do not fight each other, because of dharma.

You said that the poses and breathing techniques are supposed to be meant as offerings/pay tribute to gods. I would argue that it totally depends on the intention of the practioner of these techniques. Niyah is also a fundamental part of of ones deeds in Islam. If the intention behind the poses and techniques is physical and mental exercise only then its fine. As far as pagan words/chants are concerned, they should be avoided. Thats my take on any form of ilm. Take the good leave the bad.

💛❤️💛❤️💛❤️💛❤️Abrahmic religion like Islam and christianity says their is only "ONE GOD" and everything is GOD made.
But pagan religions like Hinduism says that "EVERYTHING IS GOD" so no duality ie " AHAM BRAHMASMI"💛❤️💛❤️💛❤️💛❤️💛❤️ie SANATAN DHARMA and it says " we cant distinguish GOD and GOD MADE" so "EVERYTHING IS GOD"
So conclusion is SANATAN DHARMA OR HINDUISM is far more advanced then abrahmic religion💛❤️💛❤️💛❤️💛❤️

Maybe YOU should be more open minded. People have the right, in free countries, to express themselves in any which way they choose. Religion and culture has always been impacted by outside forces. Look how the MUSLIM Iranic, Turkic and Central Asian peoples around the world celebrate NOWRUZ, on an annual basis, which has its origin in Zoroastrianism and yet tens if not hundreds of millions of muslims celebrate this annual festivity with gusto and unbridled joy. Some of them also celebrate Yalda whose origin also lies in Zoroastrianism..
Get over your self described "superiority" as a muslim. How others choose to live their lives and celebrate it is none of your business. You dont have to participate but dont think for a moment you are entitled to call others names or denigrade them for actually exercising their demographic rights to be in charge of their own life and acting on decicions they made of their own free wiill.

As an Indian Muslim let me say.. there is a mighty campaign going on in India as a part of hindutwa fascist authorities to enforcement yoga in schools here.. And internationaly it comes with a secular mask in scientific historical, spiritual and cultural platforms...
As prophet said may be there are some benefits but the end results will be like onself adopting a cultural Hindutwa.. Its political agenda more terrifying..Most yoga gurus and promoters here are silent or supporters of hate campaign and violence going on here against Muslims, Christains and Daliths..
