Very interesting. Some people are guessing that the park may just give demon a refresher of some sort. I feel if it was getting removed, the park would have realest something about its closer by now.
IF Demon was going away, I think it would close when the park closes for the season. It’s a staple of Fright Fest. So I don’t think the park would have said anything by now. Either way, I’m leaning towards it staying
As much as I want to believe it’s a new coaster. The shedding skin teaser has me thinking of a demon redo like Loch Ness, while that would be cool, it’s been six years since we got a new coaster and GA is desperately lacking a standout attraction that is world class
Yeah, SFGAm is lacking that true standout coaster… but I don’t think it’s time for that. I can’t think of any park that has added an elite coaster post pandemic (not including projects like Iron Gwazi or Veloci that started pre pandemic). Post pandemic has been all about the family market, which is what a Demon refresh would cater to.
Demon isn’t nearly popular enough to warrant spending millions of dollars on a retrack for. I’d honestly say asides from the some of the kids coasters, it’s probably one of the least popular coasters in the park right now. I’ve never seen it longer than a two train wait in the past year.
Might be reading too much into this clue, but coaster tracks meander like snake skins, and "shedding skin" can be thought of as removing the **oldest** layer. The two oldest coasters at the park are Whizzer (which just got a new control panel) and Demon, which was closed most of last season. If it's closing for good after Fright Fest, then the park would be "shedding skin" by removing its track. This would be consistent with a new coaster opening in 2026 for the 50th anniversary. Also, the multiple "S"s emphasized in the teasers would represent a hissing sound, so potentially a snake theme for the new coaster?
@@danthecoasterman22 if we get the first giga dive, I honestly would be OK with that but if it’s just a normal cookie cutter clone dive, then I’ll be a little bit upset
It’s not a mistake. 2015 was the parks 40th season. 1976 was the parks first season. 2026 would be the parks 50th anniversary, 1976 was the parks 1st anniversary. Most parks celebrate milestone seasons and not anniversaries
If they do a clone of Dr Diabolical that would be so dumb, Goliath already is a coaster with basically a 90 degree drop, a backwards immelman, short track length etc. basically checks off all the marks as a dive coaster. Hoping for a custom layout of some sort.
We need a long ride not our 4th short ride in a row. All these recent rides have less than 30 seconds of prime ride time. I love maxx force but it barely has 20 seconds of prime ride time. That's horrible for a park of this size and serving a large metro area.
@brandoncole5533 agreeed. Something actually unique or a 3 train operation giga or multi launch or mack hyper. Something that isnt at every park already
Typically if a snake sheds skin, when it's done it looks shiny and brand new, so I'll agree with the repaint/freshening up of the Demon. Now, stretching a bit but snakes shed when they are growing. Could it be that they are adding two inversions to bring the number of inversions up to six, thus the number clue in the eye, and maybe the rebrand. Definitely a longshot, but possible.
The letters in the eyes translate to SA. (San Antonio). It’s gotta be Dr. Diabolical dive…only question is whether it replaces demon or goes next to it. If B&M can fix their trademark rattle that seems to be plaguing all its new coasters, it’s a really solid 8 or 8.5/10 addition. If the rattle is there- a disappointing 6.5/10. (Sheikra gives me a headache). Still, 2 significant additions in 2 years is a big win.
@@danthecoasterman22 Mt wife went on hurt her neck and head badly told the workers even went to the front desk and was told just don't go back on sadly until someone is badly injured I feel it will keep happening it's a great ride but it's time to retire it
I still think Demon is getting an overhaul. New Vekoma Trains, new tunnel and rock work, fire effects, and mist. The old soundtrack will be back or an updated one. Maybe that entire Area will be rethemed to a Himalayan mountain village or something. The little hints "shedding skin" like what's old is new again. We need a new coaster thats actually good after a 6 year gap. a refurbishment of demon after all this time would be so dissapointing. I do hope they combine the go karts and buccaneer cause that would finally let us cut straight from demons area to DC universe
A Demon refurbishment for the 50th would be great. Pays great homage to the history while preserving its future. Also they probably would not build a pathway across the park if they removed BB and go karts. There’s a service road that will not be going anywhere, so if they wanted to add a pathway they would have to build a bridge over the service road. I doubt they would do that

I agree the park could use something unique that has solid capacity and isn’t a short ride, many of the additions over the past two decades aren’t that. But I don’t think a Demon refresh would be a waste of money, it checks a lot of boxes for the park and preserving it is a good option
