Every time I've seen this film they had the non English words subtitled in a fancy style on screen. It looks like this version you're watching didnt have them, were they not subtitled?

I could've done without all the insert shots. Some of them went on way too long. Also, a character arc doesn't necessarily mean the character changes for the better. It just means they're in a different place then when we met them. BLADE 2 has a complete arc, but then he winds up in the exact same place as we started. Character arcs can be overly academic when it comes to genre flicks. It's fine when they happen, but it's not why we watch them. In a JOHN WICK flick, the priority is watching bodies drop. Academia is secondary.
