What’s really sad about the acknowledgement of the BeeGee’s incredible talent is that two of them are gone, but the songwriting, the harmony, the music will forever live on. In my humble opinion, they were better than The Beatles.

It’s been said many times that the Bee Gees were ‘right up there with the Beatles’. I’d have to disagree. The Beatles were right up there with the Bee Gees, for less than a decade. The Gibb brothers sang together until they died.

This concert came to our family when I was very young (in the form of pirated VCD 😅 ). Every Sunday, my sister and I watch it with my mom, and we never get tired of it, EVER. This is us as kids, mind you. From then to this day, we have the whole concert memorized, that even though life moved on and things became too busy (and too much online) to watch concerts on Sundays, their songs are always in my head and heart.
I'm glad this is available online, 'cause let me tell you that pirated VCD is all too full of scratches to play properly now 😆

So my dad just died, he loved to sing, he loved johnny Mathis and I always thought this song was written by Mathis or someone. I’m staggered it was the bee gees because I’m 48 and Dad had been singing it for years and years but it’s great that yet another tune I love was written by those amazing brothers. The lyric ‘top right hand corner of the ceiling in my room is probably one of the most important lyrics of my life’ it’s my dad and so beautiful. Thanks BGS. X

What is not there to like about this performance? It was one of the last performances the Bee Gees had together. This song was actually recorded years before in Australia whilst the Bee Gees where still teenagers. So thank you for sharing this beautiful performance of one the greatest music talents of our generation. Music like this is no longer exists.

Beautiful and sad as well as amazing for many reasons. Barry wrote this song in 1965 which means he was 18 or 19 years old! There are 30-year old songwriters today who are not even at this level.

I had never heard this song before till it was played at the end of an episode of Death In Paradise series 11 it was a reggae version sung by the great John Holt,I then discovered it was actually a Bee Gees song this is the first time I have heard them perform it...STUNNING.

There are none to touch them, I can't help welling up when I think of Maurice & Robin are gone, & poor Barry being on his own.
I don't think Robin got over Maurices dying.
I feel like Mo's voice in particular really shines through in this song. He sounds so gentle and loving. What a sexy, very underrated voice he had! ❤
That bottom harmony line is incredibly tricky but Maurice manages it so effortlessly. I agree, this performance really showcases his vocals.

I first heard the Bee Gees sing in about 1967/68 loved them ever since.
Brilliant masterpiece from my Gibb Men; hits me hard every time, especially when my heart is heavy. Still missing my Darling Andy. You can tell my boys were still moved by this performance; it's on their faces & deep in their voices. Genius lyrics by Barry: "In the morning when the moon is at its rest, you will see me at the time I love the best"; "Please be patient with your life, it's only morning and you're still to live your day"; "Building castles in the shifting sands, in a world that no one understands". The magnificence of how such profound lyrics could be obtained from such a young mind at the time, should prove the exceptional God given talent placed upon each Gibb Man. * Rest Peacefully my Loves: Andy, Mo, & Rob, until we see each other again. Pray that God will continue to shine His Heavenly light & hand of Grace upon both Barry & Sister Lesley, especially after the sudden loss of Beri; Lesley's daughter. I remember the Bee Gees during my Army service in 1965 . They were played non-stop in the Roundabout Club in Aldershot. Happy days chasing girls and drinking beer.

Barry wrote the song between sets at some barroom in Australia. Nothing could stop him. When he wrote the song for Otis Redding, while his boss and Otis Redding went to dinner he was "young and stupid enough to believe I could" he did. When the two got back, there it was. And when his boss believed in his skills enough to write the song that introduces Grease (The movie) he asked Barry to do it. Who else would be able enough to write a song about such an enigmatic feeling as "Grease"
