    When some edgy manhunter points at you and suddenly you feel weaker, all enemies in the game have 0 confidence.

    I kinda wish I'd used the Jester Mark team in my playthroughs, but I got by with a Man at Arms substitute with bellow to try and correct the speed problem.

    There is really something satisfying to have a mark team that works well in general without marking until you find a big boy and nuke him before he can do anything. Making oneself wonder when to mark spices things up in comparison with other teams. Great video, Shuff.

    Mark team is my favorite concept in this game, so I decided to click this video to get some ideas. And boy am I glad I did, because the very first example you gave is absolutely an idea I had and would have gone through with had this not gotten me to think about how it's basically mark overkill.

    I think the devs did not expect people to get greedy for value and try to cram every mark hero in one team. They probably thought Arbalest despite being slow, still sets up a low accuracy, low speed big front liner up and her turn isn't wasted only on herself. It might not be the reality, but I think that was the idea. Problem being outside of bosses, the enemies that have dodge worth removing are also the ones you kill first, and don't have much health. Now if you mark a target you plan on cleaving with a lower accuracy skill, there's some value. Cleave skills need more love. You get to either leave both targets you wouldn't one shot anyway at around 60% health, or finish one off and damage another, leaving you at positive tempo.

    The jester mark team is actually really smart. I always struggle prioritise ac or stun trinkets and jester solve that problem.

    Mrpeppers arbalest mod has a skill that sets up a reposte that marks enemies that attack her. Perhaps you might want to check that out.

    Good topic choice.
    In addition to the ones you mentioned, I'd also add one other group it can be beneficial to mark, and that would be guys with prot - to help make up for the damage reduction somewhat. So, the guys who guard in both the ruins and the cove. They are usually front line folks and so you'll have to use the bounty hunter to do the attacking and someone else to do the marking. Also, doggy daddy's mark debuffs prot too and so you can use him to set up the bounty hunter on those guys. (ok, so I did type that before the video was over and you did mention the prot in your example at the end there)

    Imo only mark comp can both kill shrieker and it's nest. Mark the nest, kill it and switch to shrieker. Bless rng of crits are needed ofc

    This team looks promising with jester. Gotta try it out. I can get one of my musketeers to 12 speed on first turn with her current quirks and some trinkets.

    • @notmbr
      @notmbr Рік тому

      late comment but i’d recommend u not raise her speed by that high since you want the mark-setters to go first before her to set her up, adding 2 spd is more than enough tbh
      the only time i can see this work is if ur going to use flare/skeet shot on turn 1 to help the team w/ stealth enemies

    Rambling is okay, it helps newer users get into the same headspace, people talk down on it sometimes, but the more you talk the more people who are new to this play style learn, repetition is the key to knowledge

    • @vex6031
      @vex6031 2 роки тому

      People who are new to the game might not really be invested enough yet to sit through like an hour of rambling about a single mechanic, so short and to the point is definitely the better way to do it if you're actually trying to reach new players.

      @@vex6031 I've been playing for like 3 or 4 weeks, it's a good game, and it's nice having these vids just play in the background while I'm playing it, I don't mind the rambling, I can tune in and not have to worry about missing much of it because of the rambling, I got that mad ADHD brain too so repetition and side tangents help pull my brain back in

    I run Huntsman Corps a lot, which is basically a perhaps even more noob version of Marked For Death with the Occultist subbed out for a Vestal, but it combines the heavy burst damage with a lot of survivability which I find to be a sturdy set up even into the late game. It's partly just because I don't like Occultist very much and don't really know how to play him properly, which you can probably blame on him crit failing on Wyrd Reconstruction a bunch on my first playthrough and me never forgiving him.

    I think the tactic with Jester is very interesting, but I would argue that this team with HM is equally as good: Arb (4), HM (3), BH (2), Occ (1)
    1) Bc of HM's Debuff to PROT, which is espacially important late game. It enables BH to hit for 200% on his first turn instead of having to make a suboptimal turn and use his Mark. Ofc you will loose out on the buff from Jester, but BH will often one-shot a unit on round 1, while the most dangerous enemy is stunned by Occ. Most of the time I only mark with HM and mark quite frequently to get these sweet one shots or big damage on elites and bosses.
    2) The speed-factor is nice, BUT it's very easy to stall at the end of a fight (with stuns from Occ and BH) and heal most, if not all of the damage that was caused due to being slower than the enemy team. This is why battle-ballad isn't a absolute necessity for this team.
    3) Aditionally HM can hit every rank for solid damage and has a massive buff on marked targets, while Jester can only hit rank 1, if he disrupts the teams order and has no option to hit rank 4. HM can also protect heroes on Deaths Door if needed. This gives HM 2 thing, that the Jester cannot do + he does more damage as if Jester was in the 3d spot. HM also profits way more from damage-enhancing trinkets than Jester does. Jester will most likely need his bright tambourine to make him a effective stress healer.

    The Chad way of playing thie game. While people need leper on steroids to hit 50 plus damage, my Goatbalest striking 69 on those pigheads, Bounty Huntee obliterating everything to ashes. Seriously, running Arbalest, Houndmaster, Bounty Hunter and Occultist in the champion warrens with all endgame trinkets and granary distric for healing is the best experience you could have, finally feeling like the boss in the game, not a little b

    If only Wraith was a part of vanilla DD, as much I love Bounty Hunter in terms of mark synergies Marvin's Wraith is far more better and in general unique with how mark works with him compared to BH. If they ever add BH back into dd2 I hope they take a lot of influence from Wraith as I know Marivn's working at dd2 so perhaps this can happen.
