Lojo, I hope you read this whole comment. The Lew’s Mark Rose baitcaster holds a special place in my heart. I got one this year at Walmart on clearance for $35 There was only one in the clearance section and I believe the only reason it was there was it had a crack in the clamshell packaging. I have been using it for topwater and crankbaits as it is much less likely to backlash with these heavier lures and can cast them a mile. In September I caught my PB 4 pound Smallmouth Bass on this reel and a Whopper Plopper 90 Smallmouth fight pound for pound like no other fish but at 4 pounds they can put a hurting in your gear. I was able to handle and land the fish with ease on this reel. Don’t get me wrong it won’t replace my Lew’s Tournament MB as my favorite reel but it proved itself to me.
So did you like it? and what is the model ? I want to try it and I know I will never win it (SO). I always shop at Wal-Mart but don't recall seeing it there. I will try there online store. Thank You.

I like your program and the way you stand for yourself and I hope there's a lot of kids out there that are taking these lessons and getting into fishing. You're an awesome guy and thank you for checking these baitcasters out because it's really hard for somebody to really buy a lot of stuff for $100 for just a baitcaster or reel. I've since upgraded several of my reels to the Mach Crush. I'm hoping to pick up a couple more over the winter but haven't decided which ones yet. I have always been an UL one piece graphite spinning reel fisherman, but recently was stupid enough to go out on Berlin Reservoir(Ohio), with chop, in my Old Town Penobscot powered by a Minn Kota trolling motor. After I got my capsized canoe back to shore, I was poorer by 4 rods and reels. I'm debating trying a baitcasting reel, so I started YouTubing and found your most enjoyable and informative channel. Thanks for the Walmart episodes, I probably would have tried the Granite brand cheapo and been thoroughly disgusted. If I go the Walmart route, I see myself getting the Lew's Mike Rosa reel. I have this reel on a Lews Hank Parker casting speed rod i got at wallmart for about 30 bucks for my 13 year old son. to get him into baitcasting while not risking a 350 - 450 dollar setup and for the money its a great set up reel is decent and this lews hank parker rod i think is way underpriced for its quality. its a medium action rod and i was impressed with its action for the price its fairly fast. i tried it out with 14 lb flouro and after dialing the reel in was pleasantly surprised. i have a few 13 reels and some cajun custom rods that are 5 times the price. and for the money if your starting out this is a really good bang for your buck in my opinion.. at under a 100 bucks total. I would love to see you review the lews hank parker speed stick and see your opinion.i would equate it close to a dobyns fury rod i have that i paid well over 100 bucks for just the rod. i think about 135.00 if i remember right. I also bought him a diawa aird-x medium rod with a abu garcia silver max and that setup was fairly decent as well for about a 100 bucks again. cheap decent equipment is a great find for kids starting out.. .
I’ve recently rehashed my love of fishing and have yet to use a bait caster. Birds nests seem like a drag (fishing pun) but like most things it’ll take time to master! Love the channel!
Hey Lojo the issue you mentioned on the handles being smaller then you like can be fixed with some of those grips bass pro sells. That would bulk them up.

My good fishing friend ( we are both 58 ) bought one of those and put 10lb stren mono on it and to make a long story short we hooked up at Stockton lake and i brought my two abu's ... silver max and blk max and after a while of fishing i said...hey u wanna swap contraptions (rod and reels) for a bit and after a while he turned around and very calmly asked...i don't suppose you wanna trade for good and i replied...pass me the coffee thermos and... nope.From what i understand he had used that lews reel about a half dozen times and took it back and got the ole abu...thats all I'm going to say.

Great video man my budget rod and reel combo is my diawa air-d x rod with a diawa feugo ct the rod was 45$ the reel was 100$ throw on some Berkley 10# it's a smallie and largy slayer and the spinning combo I use is a ryobi arctic 2500 on a Mitchell esprit rod both excellent and not expensive set ups

Hey, that reel that was sold out for $64.88 was the Lew's Jason Christie speed spool laser LZR seven bearing system reel. It's a pretty nice 👌 reel. You should check it out. Put some ceramic bearings in it and a little bit of drag grease on the drag washer and you have a super nice reel.
I bought the lew's mark rose for a frog rod I set up . Lol the rod was twice as much as the reel anyway, it was great but did not hold up more than two months. Froggin is of course heavy work , but the drag failed after probably 75_100 hook sets. It would be great for a weekend angler but not four or five trips a week .

Pretty sweet reel! When I was on vacation in Mobile Alabama the Walmart near me had a Lew's rod and reel combo for $100. Im pretty sure it was the Mark Rose series. I'm regretting not buying that combo now.

Yea the abu Garcia black max is one of my go to reel for Walmart I love it. If I won the reel I would use it to catch fish to stock my pond with big bass
I love Lews. I am a big budget fisherman I have boxes full of H2o Xpress crank baits. I use combos and my favorite is the lews American hero MH 7'0" and the Abu Garcia Silver Max.
@@lojofishing Lojo I don't just love the rod and reel because its affordable and works amazing. I love it because of the back story of how they give back to the American Veterans. I will only buy Lews Rods and reels because of how they support the Veterans. It may cost me more and I only have 1 lews combo right now, but I will save up the money needed to buy what I need, but im only 15 so I have some years to save up.

I got the marc rose speed spool combo from wally world like 60 bucks had it for about a year, and its held up pretty good ! Lews is pretty reliable for the money!
You should do a rigging tutorial and a how to beginner guide to bait-casters, mine is a 150$ reel and it won’t work. Every time I cast it goes out fast and then stops instead of still going, if I get rid of the breaks it just backlashes, any tips?

Definitely worth the money I’ve used the mark rose edition for 2yrs plus I’ve caught many fish on this reel and it’s never given me a lick of trouble

Yea the abu Garcia black max is one of my go to reel for Walmart I love it. If I won the reel I would use it to catch fish to stock my pond with big bass
I love Lews. I am a big budget fisherman I have boxes full of H2o Xpress crank baits. I use combos and my favorite is the lews American hero MH 7'0" and the Abu Garcia Silver Max.

@@lojofishing Lojo I don't just love the rod and reel because its affordable and works amazing. I love it because of the back story of how they give back to the American Veterans. I will only buy Lews Rods and reels because of how they support the Veterans. It may cost me more and I only have 1 lews combo right now, but I will save up the money needed to buy what I need, but im only 15 so I have some years to save up.

I got the marc rose speed spool combo from wally world like 60 bucks had it for about a year, and its held up pretty good ! Lews is pretty reliable for the money!
You should do a rigging tutorial and a how to beginner guide to bait-casters, mine is a 150$ reel and it won’t work. Every time I cast it goes out fast and then stops instead of still going, if I get rid of the breaks it just backlashes, any tips?
you should try one of those ready to fish kits that come included with a rod and reel combo
I liked the look of that reel. My first baitcaster reel is the blackmax by Abu Garcia. I'm still learning.
