However the potatoes might just acclimatize and grow well, but we'll see. Oh, and the potatoes were placed upside down. Those 'bubbles' which are called the eyes are actually where the stems come from. When they get large enough they send out roots. But I guess the stems could grow under the water and around the tubers back up.
The ludwigia and Brazilian micro sword plants look very nice, the Harlequin Rasboras and catfish look very healthy, I think the potatoes will grow nicely.

I have a cocern about this experiment. We ca make great vegetable in aquarium but potatoes have to grow with very low light or no light at all around the roots. This is to make sur the new potatoes don't turn green. Because green potatoes are poisonous. Will the water of the aquarium stop enough light to avoid potatoes turning green ?
