Port of a great SNES game called Super Mario World. Who does not know Super Mario World? It is an extremely good game and great success worldwide. As in previous games in the series, the script involves Mario traversing different lands on a quest to rescue Princess Peach, who was captured by Bowser. He also seizes the island of Dinosaurs, and imprisons its inhabitants in magical eggs, handing them over to his seven henchmen, the Koopalings! Mario and Luigi face challenges by 7 different worlds, until finally defeating once again the terrible Bowser and save the Princess and the inhabitants of the Island of the Dinosaurs. This version was released for the Game Boy Advance with modified gameplay (with real differentiation between Mario and Luigi), with the name Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2. Luigi can jump higher (but Mario runs more faster), when Luigi riding Yoshi can spit small enemies in others and also their small fireballs jump higher.
Many of the glitches in SNES version have been fixed in these port (like in the battles against Iggy and Larry Koopa) and not being able to eat the P button after stepping up and also, unlike the SNES version, you can not return to the castles after destroyed (in SNES version you can return to the destroyed castles pressing L+R and one other button). An great game. All exits found, all dragon coins collected (with a prize if you collected all), all stages open, i played with both characters and i decided to give a chance to Luigi, he deserves at least. - Ігри

I played this game when I was 8 or 9. I spent endless hours and enjoyed every minute of it, I even managed 100% completion. I also played Yoshi’s island after it was released but was disappointed at first as it wasn’t anything like this game, although after a while I did start to enjoy it. I’m 29 now and still have all my game boys and games to go with it, my daughter is almost 1 years old so when she’s old enough to play with it I’ll certainly be wiping the dust off and getting it down from the loft! Can’t wait to play it with her and re-live my child memories :-)

So much nostalgia in the opening man. My entire childhood was spent with this and Pokemon Emerald in my Gameboy. From the Gameboy advance, to the Gameboy micro, and then my first DS Lite. This and Emerald always stayed with me.

Fairly recently, I dug up my old GBA along with the games I had with it. Needless to say, I was flooded with nostalgia seeing I had this game and the SMB3 GBA port as well. Seeing I had 3 files, but none at 100% made me delete them all and start over so I can complete it from start to finish(now that I do this with a majority of the games I play nowadays), finding every exit and collecting all the dragon coins. Upon doing the latter, I was shocked when I saw the cutscene at 3:18:35 play as I never knew about it. It's really touching when games have secrets like this reserved for those players who go out of their way to complete every possible goal and seeing stuff like that certainly adds icing to the cake.

I wish I had a time machine so I can go back a few years from now so I can watch my younger self play Super Mario World on my old SNES before we got rid of it.
This Is my favourite game. The music is astounding! Its even as good as the SNES version in my opinion! Its also my favourite Bowser fight too, a bit of intensity along with the atmosphere. The inclusion of Princess Peach Helping you while battling bowser by throwing you mushrooms is just perfect, great gameplay. Just played some of it right now on my GBA, so fun!
Yeah! the SNES music is 16 bit while i think the GBA is only 12 bit? Still better than 8 bit. The GBA is a great portable option to the SNES version and was actually one of the first Mario games i played and Mario bros 3 on the GBA.
@@krypto_9872 the gba has a 32 bit cpu (and so 32 bit graphics) but the sound is pretty terrible.It has no dedicated sound cpu, so the cpu has to do the whole thing.The sound is tehnically 32 bit but the DAC melts it with 8 bit samples.I'm not sure about it but oh well

There's something about the color palete and the overall style of the GBA games that I simply love... hard to explain.
Reminds me of much more simple and happy times, makes me wish even more now that i could go back as a child and enjoy it just alittle more. The things i wish we could have back is endless and childhood is on top of the list. I never could finish the game because i accidentally washed my GBAsp so this definitely gave me some closure. Wish i had another game boy because i still have all the games from then.
They sell so many GBA now, just save up and get another one. Especially if you have all those games-

I remember this game because my sister and I got GameBoy Advances for Christmas back when we were kids and she got this game and I got Spier-Man 2. I played Mario more than she did lol, good times!

Super mario advance 2 is one of the best games of all time
the controls are very smooth, since its on a Gameboy Advance there is no lag, there are many ways to get one ups making it additive as hell, you can play it as long as you want with never getting bored. It also adds features from the SNES port that feels like they were missing, its a portable game meaning you can play it where ever you want.
my only complaint is the sound quality compared to the SNES port.
Yeah, as soon as I heard the sound quality, it was definitely a killer for me. From one that grew up with the SNES version. SNES definitely the better version of the sound quality at least. I'm sure the gba one is still a fine game though.

This goes back to 2007 I used to have this game on my gba I was obsessed with this game my game boy died in 2011 kinda forgot about the game until 2016 played it on pc then in 2017 and into 2018 and early 2019 I played it on my phone via emulator god this is nostalgic

What a beautiful childhood I had with this game on my Gameboy Advance. Varied levels (many of them very challenging), many secrets, good music for the levels...and I liked listening to Mario and Luigi say phrases when they transformed with an item or were hit or killed by an enemy.
Fun fact: super Mario is my favorite game character but not because my name is also Mario but because the background is beyond nostalgic
The graphics, colors, and music are still so charming today.
I remember that when I was a child I wanted New Super Mario Bros for my DS but my mother bought me Super Mario World for GBA instead since she mistook that one with NSMB 😂, but I still loved to play it. So lovely childhood memories ❤

This game is so nostalgic, I used to play this on our "videogame" Machine where you insert coins (peso coins in our place). I love this game
I don't know if anyone else have noticed (besides the content creator), but the lives counter actually goes past 99 in this version of Mario. Not even the newer versions have that feature. Great way to track count and push for personal records

The SNES Version has great graphics and the GBA Version enhances the graphics

Nah, the gba version has better physics and the Snes version has better graphics, also music and sound effects.

The SNES version doesn’t have a secret ending once you collected all the yoshi coins like the GBA does.
GBA Version has very bad grahics and a horrible sound. Snes Version is better. But the GBa Version has more content.

I personally love the music, even if Snes is less compressed.
The hazy/muffled sounds are super charming to me, even if some songs are just straight up bad (Bowser's valley map theme on gba, for example)
Gba and its aesthetics are just awesome.
The only problem I actually have is the visuals. While it is basically the same as Snes, the colors are way too washed out. This is because the gba's original model didn't have a backlight, so games were forced to be brighter. But it just sucks because the game could have looked a lot better otherwise
