Basically all of the time that it’s not Lent (leading up to Easter) or Advent (leading up to Christmas). I grew up in the Catholic Church but no longer consider myself religious. Love that you are starting this show!!
In 2021 i was super sick with Covid. Bored of all the usual TV stuff i normally watch so I decided to watch this. And i was blown away at how great it was. Every episode it will get better and better. Sooo fkn gooodsd
Most of the cast in here was on Bligh Manor and youll see them all again in House of Usher. He uses the same core cast in most of his shows. Also, Rileys dad is the kid from ET, in case anyone didnt state it.

Yes, that is the dad from Hill House. Flanagan reuses a lot of actors so you'll see a lot from Hill House. The Doctor was Ms. Dudley and the drunk was Mr. Dudley (the caretakers), Bev Keene was Steven's wife, Erin (Flanagan's wife) was Theo, the judge played the mom. The Sheriff was in Bly Manor and Riley, his brother, and Leeza (girl in the wheelchair) were all in Midnight Club. Samantha Sloyan plays Bev so well. She really make you hate her.
This show is great! Ms. Keane is the actress that played Steve’s wife in The Haunting of Hill House. While she does a great job in this, the priest, Paul Hill, is amazing! He deserved more credit and even some award for his performance in this. This show has a strong Stephen King vibe and I didn’t realize how much I missed that until this show came out. Can’t wait to get more of this show! I could binge the reactions of this just as much as I could binge the show!
I love that you both got jump scared by the car crash woman every time she appeared. Also love the immediate dislike of Bev! Can’t wait for the future episodes. One of my favorite shows of all time.

I finally got around to watching this show over the summer, and I really enjoyed it and found myself wanting to keep on watching the next episode and ultimately ended up binging the season in a couple of days. While it's a little slower getting started than some of Flanagan's other shows, once things kick into full-gear I'd say this is my favorite of all his stuff! So excited you two are jumping in. :)

Just when they said 'prodigal son' near the end there it made me think of the TV show of the same name. I think you both would enjoy both the cast and story of it plus there's only 2 seasons. Another good TV show I think you would both appreciate is EVIL. Again the cast is incredible but the story is just twist and turns and creepy stuff. Worth looking into guys 😀 we all love a horror/thriller afterall 😀

Awesome series…I first watched it having no idea what it was (and I hate horror because I’m a chicken). This series and Fall of the House of Usher are just superb 😍
Riley was in prison. He didn't have any money to just live on the mainland. You have to have money to move (and then live) anywhere, and people generally don't hire ex-cons. Pretty sure he's living there because there's nowhere else for him to go. Honestly, his future (long term, outside the scope of the show- no spoilers) was exceptionally bleak. Casting spoilers for who played who on what show: That is the dad from Hill House! Young dad, and also the uncle from Bly. Miss Keane is also Leigh Crain, Joe (drunk guy with the awesome dog) is Mr. Dudley, both from Hill House. The doctor giving the ultrasound to Erin Green played Mrs. Dudley. The voice of the judge who sentenced Riley to prison was the mom from Hill House. I know you caught a couple of other regulars, like the sheriff, Erin Green, and Riley's dad (Ed), and that's all I can call up offhand.
You guys should watch Mike's other shows you would love them. Great reaction never stop. Also from the Exorcist you said you wanted to have a conversation. I've tried but nothing works.
This and Usher are super close as my #2 Flanagan show behind Hill House. I think Usher sneaks by it just because Flanagan's tendency to monologue feels more at home in a series about Poe. And in this series there were a couple scenes that made me cringe a bit at the melodramatic speeches.
I've said this is the best Stephen King movie Stephen King never made. It reminds me of Storm of the Century combined with another King movie I won't name because it'd spoil a plot line.
