Oooo I’m so glad you are enjoying the food! I LOVE learning about (and trying) food from different countries and have a lot of fun sharing our dishes with you! 😋 I think you will enjoy next week’s video. There are a lot of New Year’s dishes! 🙈 Happy New Year!! Wishing you and your family all the health and happiness in the world! 🎉😊
Thank you! You too! It’s actually pretty warm here right now. I am wishing for snow but it doesn’t look like we will get any ❄️ You stay warm and toasty too! 😊☺️
We have a similar tradition of putting a silver sixpence in the Christmas pudding. My son visited New York just before Christmas this year. Looked lovely from the pictures but myself I'd much rather be on the farm. You have lots of interesting food to eat in Bulgaria. Great video. All the best 🇬🇧.
Yes! I LOVE CHRISTMAS 🎄🎁😃 Our kitties get presents every year too 😃 🐱 Happy New Year!! Wishing you and your family all the health and happiness in the world! 🎉😊
Vesela Koleda from Virginia. I was in Bulgaria for Christmas a couple of years ago. I got the coin in the bread on Christmas morning, I had to keep it in my wallet all year for luck and I have to say it worked! I went to church on Christmas morning - that was really different than what I am used to (it didn’t help that I couldn’t understand anything) but I found it very moving. I took a Christmas pickle ornament for my friends’ tree - they looked at me like I had three eyes! Have a great new years!
Vesela Koleda and Chestita Nova Godiva from Bulgaria to Virginia!! How awesome that the coin ended up with you 😃 The pickle ornament sounds killer! I have to find one 🎄🙈😃
@sistersofbulgaria9396 hello 👋 this time a year here in North East Ohio 20 miles from Pennsylvania the wood is wet unless you cut in summer and put it in the barn!! It's raining here today not even like winter!! Have a wonderful evening!👍❤️😺
Thanks so much!! Can’t believe tomorrow is the last day of this year 🤯. Hope to hear from you again in the New Year! 😃🙈 Happy New Year!! Wishing you and your family all the health and happiness in the world! 🎉😊
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family too! Wishing you and your beautiful family all the health and happiness in the world! 🎄🎁😊🐓🐄❤️
Merry Christmas to you all 🎄💝 and best wishes for the new year as well too💯💞love to you all from us . Wow the food and the family celebration all looks lovely. And yes i agree with you Laurie, your mum looks mighty fine too 💖. You cannot cut your own firewood in Bulgaria ?. Is it a law related to conservation or climate or shortage of trees, or for what reason. Sorry but i'm inquisitive due to being interested in understanding the local reasons for such matters
Hey again hope you are well? I would love to go to Bulgaria it really does look a lot like Vancouver Island where I was born and still live. That country was never even a thought for me until I saw your video the country should be paying you lol. By the way your boyfriend is the luckiest guy alive I hope he knows that be safe take care till next time.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas Lori(spelling?). Being relatively new to your channel(I found it crazy you also had ketchup chips) I am interested in your story. Were you born In Bulgaria then went to NY? Or us born and moved there? Sorry, you may have covered it in older videos but if you haven't your story would make a great video? Keep up the great videos and Happy New year! Kevin from Canada
Hi Kevin! We visited Canada last year and LOVED it. My sister and I were born in New York. Our parents sent us to Bulgaria to spend summer vacation with our family there every year. That’s how I fell in love with Bulgaria. I always knew I would move back but didn’t know how or when. I will definitely make a few videos with my story 😊 Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I love meeting new people from different counties. It’s really amazing. Happy New Year!! Wishing you and your family all the health and happiness in the world! 🎉😊
I remember my grandparents' stove being similar to a wood stove, but it had a coal grate, and they burned coal in it. We grew up in a strip mining area for coal. Much of the coal was known as Steam Coal as it was used to generate steam for electric generation. I believe that Bulgaria is active in coal mining as a country, even if not in your area of Bulgaria. Is coal less expensive than wood in Bulgaria? ( it was for my grandparents) Warning, burning coal is a very dirty process. We, as a family, always bought a live burlap & balled pine tree, which was planted somewhere on our property after Christmas. Of course, you have to place the tree in a wide mouthed bucket and then water it regularly. It was a different tradition than most people around us. Whether your in the city or in a rural if you emphasize family, family traditions, and Jesus Christ in your Christmas you should have a meaningful Christmas. Provided you do this, it shouldn't matter if you live in the big city or a rural remote village. If your family holds these values, Christmas should be meaningful regardless of where you live or where you are at.
Cant beat a traditional Christmas in the countryside. And cabbage water to drink as we say here in England although its not so well known as it used to be.
I couldn’t agree more! I had no idea you guys have cabbage water in England!? So cool (and yummy)😋 Happy New Year!! Wishing you and your family all the health and happiness in the world! 🎉😊
a national radio host had to mention Krampus, and coming from eastern Europe: I'd never heard of it until 2000, and it would have conflicted with traditional Christian values (that don't exist now) as a pagan origin folkstale.
My comments are censored, just giving you advice because I come the same way as you did (just in Croatia). Some of the points: Optimize Your Living Space: Arrange your home to maximize comfort, efficiency, and functionality for a peaceful and productive lifestyle. Secure Independent Transportation: Invest in a reliable car, bike, or other means of transport to stay connected to nearby towns and essential services. Choose a Strategic Location: Select a residence close to a city or town that supports your social life, cultural activities, and necessary amenities. Maintain a Stable Income: Ensure you have a reliable source of income, such as remote work or a location-independent business, to sustain your lifestyle. The most important is to find friends and travel as much as you can. (look for EU founds (grands) for small business for returning citizens to village I an targeting EUR 120K)
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and will have a great New Year, Lori.
