the jaydee is playing harder butt a great sound....perhaps a bitt lesser on the chorus/ flanger / compressor configuration to get a cleaner open sound?
First saw them in 1982 at the Top Rank, Brighton UK. A week later I saw The Brothers Johnson at the same venue with the amazing Louis Johnson on bass. A surfeit of 'thunderthumbs'! 😍

What makes great Mark King is the amazing music he plays with Level 42 .....Flea is a good bassist but plays shit music with rhcp as well as led claypool with Primus....the music to play for a bass player is disco funk and soul ...this is the genre that made bass players famous.
@@Kouros-t6d I played Jazz/Funk bass and know how the play on the first beat, the rule of Funk, listened to Level 42 all the time on the radio in London when they had their hits, still cant stand their poppy stuff
It's impressive how he can play these amazingly complex bass lines and sing something completely different.
Mark has been performing professionally, playing drums and singing and then bass since he was 11. No wonder he is so damn good
And he's still playing the same thing he was when he was 11
