Hi everyone, thank you so much for all the support on this video. However, PLEASE speak to your doctor re: your experiences and symptoms and remember that this is my experience and it is different for everyone. Please refrain from any negative comments about my life choices or others. This is meant to be a helpful and positive video. Thank you!
Hey girl i’m with Escitalopram too , it’s helping me i guess but i’m scared because i don’t want to have side effect for all my life . Did u have side effect?
I've been on Lexapro for about a week, and it has been a lot better than I expected. I was terrified of side effects, but I don't have many. It has been a huge relief.
Rebecca Jones hey Rebecca, how better was lexapro for you ?, what dosage were you on ?, what changes have you seen with taking lexapro.
I just started taking it today, so any advice or helpful words ?😩😕
Shy-Ann B. It seems to make it easier for me to do things for myself. I still get low feelings, but I don't stay in them as long.
Depression messes up my sleeping and digestion, and I felt some relief from those symptoms. Again, not 100%, but somewhat better.
The only side effect I have is yawning a lot. It is not so much drowsy, but just a feeling like I need to stretch and get some air when I have been sitting too long.
I think overall the medication helps me with courage to do what I know I need to do, and helps me separate the thoughts of a failed action from being a failure as a person. I feel like trying again rather than just giving up.
Btw, I am on 10mg.
Rebecca Jones I’m currently taking 10mg, and this is my first day. I feel so bad and that I want give up already. How did you get through a weeek?
Rebecca Jones I feel like I don’t wanna do this anymore, these side effects are irritable ! I just wanna feel better like how you guys feel.
5mg per day here. Not a drastic change, but I'm more chilled out now. Less anxious, less angry. Overall a positive change in my life.
It's works perfectly on 5mg .. beaware to stop alcohol and mastribution 👍
I just started my first dose today of Lexapro 5mg
How did it go? @@xoKMFxo

I was just prescribed Lexapro and will take my first dose tonight. I'm nervous, but ready to take control of my anxiety and my not so bad depression. I will be back to give an update. Please send happy healing vibes my way 🥰
Going on day four and I'm really sensitive to medication mind you, but my anxiety is nearly gone! Some weird side effects like: yawning alot, and clenching my jaw alot. I heart those will go away though. I'm feeling happier and happier each day. I'll leave another update in a few days 🥰
@@bubblelabz3660 thinking on getting it does it take time to work on your body?
@@lanenachula9 for me, no. I felt a difference the 2nd day. I yawned ALOT and grind my teeth. But the anxiety was almost all gone. It's been a month now and still have some yawning and grinding, but basically no anxiety. I deal with stress much better and have much happier days. Some ppl feel a difference right away, and others it can take weeks.
You are so awesome.....power to you girl....sending you lots of positive vibes and love....hope you stay healthy and have a very happy and fulfilling life ahead 🤗💫❤
I originally started taking 10 mg of Prozac, it made my anxiety and depression worse. I kept waiting for it to start working but my symptoms became unbearable. Went back to my doctor and she switched me to lexapro. 2 weeks in and my life has improved significantly!! Hardly any side effects. It’s a trial and error with finding the right medication. Don’t give up. ❤️
Only been 3 days and I have more energy and more awareness of my thoughts. They are still there but I feel less debilitated by them. Having the dizziness and shakes. But overall not so bad.
They started me on 2.5 mg and I’m happy with it. I don’t even see the point of moving up to 5 mg. I just feel....smooth and calm and I get happy easier, no more pangs of depression and wayyyyy less intrusive thoughts.
That’s what I just started with today. Are you still on it? If so, did you increase your dose?
Lexapro is probably one of the safest, most easily tolerated, and easy to taper off of meds on the market for sure.
Its an SSRI (Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor), just like Prozac, paxil, celexa, etc..
Its side effect profile is also very small and well tolerated among many populations and cultures.
Glad it helped you, and you seem very happy, joyous, and positive. It has also helped me TREMENDOUSLY in my life and thankfully hasnt given any too bad sexual side effects like many other ssri's tend to do, (im a male) so its kinda important lol, god bless all
I have been on 10 mg for about 2 months now. I don’t know whether it’s winter or my circumstances that I feel like it has dipped now and I need to up the dosage. I probably will. Thanks for the info, it really helps to be able to relate.
It def started to chill me out a few days in . It does make me nauseous and sleepy so I take it before bed 5mg and will up it to 10 in a week
I have been on escitalopram 20mg for over a year now, moving from Sertraline.
The side effects subsided after a few weeks to a month.
Occasionally I have missed a few doses and it was hell.
I'm glad it's working for you 20mg definitely works for me. I still get anxious and down but I can control it now with mediation ect
I have persistent depressive disorder and started taking 10mg Lexapro 3 weeks ago. It hasn't done anything for my depression and has actually made my anxiety worse. I'm pretty bummed as it seems to have helped so many people.
Its normal on the First weeks! Did u gave up?
This medicine has helped me so much . Only side effect I get now is headaches. Suck but it bets feeling awful anxiety. I was on 5mg ,I’m currently taking half because of the headaches.
Is 5mg helps
Thank you for sharing!
Great content. Thank you.
Id love to hear an update on this!
I am starting with it today.. and the idea of getting stuck with it until unknown time scares me. I have no clue how my body will just self-sustain whatever it is needed to stay calm after I stop!
how are u doin rn?
Bey wasim how are you feeling now?
@@eimmyhernandez8298 I didn't follow the whole course. I stopped after around two months.
@@wasimhelwani2402 Why? Did you recover?
I'm glad you're doing well. I'm 48 am handling my depression on my own because I can't tolerate any medications. It is exhausting, a lot of work and full time job. Also rewarding because I have learned so much about myself. There is no shame whatsoever in being on medication for life. Therapy should be a lifelong practice. Every single person, not matter how normal they think they are, should be in therapy. We will be learning lessons and hopefully experiencing growth as long as we are here. PS, I'm also from Florida, lived in LA for 25 years and consider London a 2nd home of sorts, back in FL taking care of my health. LA is where my heart is, but it is a very hard place and it's easy to get caught up in not feeling like you're enough. Keep taking care of yourself :)
My first take on Lexapro was terrible. Feeling dizzy , nausea but still faithful . Hopefully everything gonna be alright.
How been now?
Hi there I’m on 10mg and my anxiety which had got a little better suddenly awful so I too am moving up to 15mg will it be the usual side effects all over again ? X
I thought it was for me but it turned out I was actually critically deficient in Vitamin D.
It's nice to see a positive review of an antidepressant. Most are negative reviews from people who quit becaiuse of side effects without even giving the drug a chance to work, and then they go on an on about how Big Pharma is evil., etc. Like you can take something that will change your metabolism enough to have an antidepressant effect without that somehow giving you side effects. Impossible.
I also suffer from severe angst/apprehension/fear, and drugs like this are very helpful to me.
Thank you for this video I just started Lexapro 5mg and just feel tired, hopefully this will go away, anyone else have this side effect ?
It says on the bottle that it causes drowsiness.
I'm on 5mg as well and I just want nap all day. Third week. Hopefully the drowsiness goes away
I just started on 10gm makes me feel worst. I hope the side effects get better.
Was your beginning on it hard as far as side effects
I started on 5mg, bumped to 10mg and it seemed to be working SLIGHTLY. I became very disscoiated which them became increasingly more depressing. I consulted my psych and she bumped me to 20mg but without much consulting. I haven't started the 20mg but if I had a negative experience with 10mg why would 20mg be any different? Anyone else experience the same thing?
Omgg !! What were those pills you were given for panic attacks ? Also I just subscribed !!!
Has anyone experience with this medication when you have Derealisation bc of Anxiety? Does it help you with that?
Lexapro is good for depression, anxiety and OCD disorder.
my 2nd day lots neausea headache horrible.did it help you sleep
Mine makes me sleepy
what was your first day dose of lexapro ?
I have been on 10 mg of Lexapro for a week and 1/2. When does the nausea go away?
I just started 3 days ago.. 5 mg.. nausea comes and goes.. try to withstand it for 2 weeks.. People say it’s worth the wait!
did it cause weight gain ?
So you have to keep upping the dose?
Can I take flu medicine with Lexapro?
I take from 4 year and with olzipaine 5mg for dipresan &pf but i am fine to yoga continues yoga form 1.5 year and present memory weeks olzipaine is hebitas and give me adavaice because i am biliv you and your country . i am Indian verry love my country .....

Hi. How are u now?
I have been lexapro for 3 days and these side effects are kicking my ass
If you don’t mind me asking what are the side effects
Are taking it at nite ?
My doctor started me on 30 mg and quickly moved it to 60. I don’t know wtf he was thinking. I was completely fucked up for at least a month. It was great.
Is it strange that I get relief from 5mg
Not at all! I’m on 5 mg now :)
Lexapro is super easy to taper off of. Great medication. Happy to know you're feeling better and enjoying life. I've had success with lp too.
Yes ? It really is ? Do I need to worry for physical withdrawal effects? I really would like to know for myself.

I started taking escitalopram a month ago. Prior to taking medication, my anxiety and depression were debilitating and had a lot of suicidal thoughts. After a month, I have more energy and can concentrate on studying more. I still feel sad and anxious but I mostly, I feel flat. However, I would choose this numb feeling than what I had prior to treatment. Thanks for your videos. :)
How are doing now?
Numb feelings isn’t good either . I definitely felt that way on Ashwaganda
Lexapro has helped me gradually. Establishing sleep patterns and exercise has helped along with hydration. We'll see going forward. Good videos.
I agree , especially about going to sleep early and exercising and drinking lots of water ,it really helps .Also watching what you eat ,avoiding junk food as much as I can.
@@SRBOMBONICA86
Yes. Avoid sugar, get lots of fat and protein and get some aerobic exercise. It can only help.

thank you so much for sharing your experience. best of luck with all the things you wish to do in your life!
Thank you for your post. I have suffered my whole life with anxiety and agitation. I always thought it was just a short fuse that I was born with. My wife and I had a heated argument and she did some digging online and found out this may be the case. I spoke with my doctor and based on the initial questions she made the diagnosis that I'm also slightly depressed. I was prescribed Lexipro to help me with this. I have not started it yet as I was just diagnosed today. I am worried about taking any kind of medication but your video has helped put me at ease. Thank you.
How are you now?
@@mamat1213 I've noticed I still have some anxiety, but it's been more manageable. My wife says she's noticed a significant change for the better. My doc says it's normal for me to grind my teeth at night (just me getting used to normal serotonin levels I guess). With allergy season here, I noticed it makes it harder to get out of bed because I'm taking zyrtec. That'll stop soon though. It appears to be that everything is easier for me to manage and not have such a short fuse. I hope that answers your question.
Was just prescribed this today. Feeling kind of weird and yawning alot at present.
Hopefully in a few weeks I'll start feeling like a happy non-anxious, non- depressed soul.
Any luck after 2 months?
Yeah mate for sure. A lot less anxious than I used to be and suicidal thoughts are gone. Feeling like a much happier me. I did plateau out on the 10 mg and my Doc up'd my dosage to 20 mg which has helped too.

@@Rumpole1000 that's very good to hear, I'm glad your doing better. I just started today and I felt a few side effect : dry mouth and more anxiety than usual. But according to everyone the first week is the worse. Your reply gives me hope that things will get better. 😁
@@georgellizo6444 Yeah I definitely felt more anxiety in the first few days. The side effects were unpleasant but not unbearable. I think day 3 and 4 were the worst but after the 5th or 6th day I was starting to feel better although it may take longer for others.
Hope it works for you mate and it increases your quality of life. Let us know how you're going.

Hi Mackenzie, Thank you so much for sharing your progress. I was so down and I could barely go to work ,afraid of the world but now I can go on my life normally so first I put God in my life first and second this wonderful medication. Are you on it till this this or did you finish the treatment?
Hey, I just saw your comment. I took Lexapro and it REALLY helped me in the beginning. I seriously sounded EXACTLY like her when I said I felt like a whole new person, this was my miracle drug, etc. I then proceeded to continue the dose for 4 years. Just be your own advocate and don't stay on it as long as I did. She's right when she says it helps with every day tasks, like mornings!... But you can become numb. I don't have good memory from that time and I stayed in a job that wasn't challenging me, etc. Psych meds are a blessing, but I have mixed feelings about this one now that I'm looking back.

Thank you. Feeling great on antidepressants is (intoxication anosognosia) which leaves you unable to judge the effects of the drugs, it is also called medication spellbinding so be very
careful and be aware of how your close family or friends view your behaviour. When you attend a medical practitioner always take your closest person to you so they can help in the
evaluation of your mental state because if you have started medication you will say the drugs are doing you good, when others may see the true you (if they are drug free that is).
Just started lexapro 7 days ago 5mg and even tho it's a low dose I already see a bit of a change along with exercise and staying hydrated.

I've been on Lexapro for about a year for anxiety (and the depression that would come with that). The first months were rough, but it's honestly helped me so, so, so much. Since January 23, 2020,
I started taking Lexapro 5mg due to panic/anxiety attacks.
I am hoping that Lexapro & maybe some kind of therapy will get rid of all my symptoms.
Chris, 23 how are you doing ?
I’m seeing a psychiatrist soon for medication

Thanks for this video girl I’m currently going to therapy. But I’m still feeling so overwhelmed, full of worries and just not able to cope with daily life. I’m thinking about trying this medication. Are you still taking this medicine? Any input will help. Thank you 🙏🏽💛
Thank you
I’ve been so depressed lately. I’m finding it hard to enjoy life. I’m afraid to get on meds I don’t want to be dependent upon them. And just thinking of getting off of them. Freaks me even more. I don’t want to loose this fight.
don't be afraid of meds, the media loves to make meds look bad. If you need them then you shouldn't avoid them. Just make sure you work with your doctor or prescriber.
What did you decide? I am struggling with the same but don’t want to become dependent on something to make me feel better.
thank you for sharing your experience on antidepressant,,,well i am 24 yrs old ,i was on antidepressant for my anxiety abt 2 years....after regular visit to my psychiatrist ,i have just stopped taking antidepressant by slowly tapering off ...its hard to deal with withdrawl symptoms...
