- This tiny pond has been such a source of healing and relaxation for me. It is still a work in progress but I am loving it. Uploading it here on UA-cam also gives me the chance to access it when I am not at home.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. - Розваги
Yeah I definitely agree when you sit down and listen to something like this . It can be very relaxing. Nice work.. :)
Thanks man. It is my little relaxation corner at home.
Always as pleasant to listen to and watch, thank you for sharing this good time 😊
sator rotas thanks my friend. Mainly uploaded it for myself when I go to work 🤣😂😅 will be watching this on my break time.
@@BITTERFLEA It sure makes you feel good to watch it during your work breaks, but it's also very nice to share it with us 😊
This is just beautiful! I have made an outdoor pond in a garden bed. I love watching all the fish swim through all the plants!
Thank you. The current state of this pond does not look as good as this. Since I have feeder goldfish in it. They have been thriving really well and grew so much so did their appetite. They ate all of the lilies which was sad.
Love it! I want to do this when it warms up a little.
Thank you! This pond is currently due for some well deserved TLC. The big problem is the goldfish grew too big and ate most of the plants.
Very nice. Like small water gardens like this.
Thanks!
The BITTERFLEA Life . About a week ago I had a raccoon rummage through my little pond thing and got a small Koi and goldfishI had in there. Then walked over to an aquarium I have some fish and tadpoles in and looks like he took a bath in it by the water that was out of it and all the hair in it. Do your tanks look as nice as this?
Guess I could be asking these questions on SCAPE.
Ouch sorry about your fish. I have been lucky so far. My planted tanks are not doing great right now. They are a lot of work for me. I am only allowed to have it in my non-insulated garage and the summers really aid with my algae blooms. I want to go for something with less maintenance.
Very calming, I like it a lot.
Thank you. That means a lot to me.
Love this video !
Very cool man.
Thanks man!
How do you stop foxes and birds from getting at the fish please :)
To be honest, I have not done any preventive measures for birds and other predators. Maybe because I live in an area where wildlife is not so rampant. A net might help.
Hi, what pump dp you use for the waterfall feature? Thanks
Just a regular pump found at home depot or lowes. It is probably around 150 gallons per hour.
Very cool! Did we need to cycle the tank before adding fish?
I guess it went through a very long cycle. Since I did not use a liner on this, I was afraid the residual alcohol or chemical would harm my fish. So it took me about 3-4 months of water logging. I added plants plants right away.
Love this! I'm thinking of doing something similar myself... could I ask, when searching for barrels online they seem to come in a variety of different sizes. I have found one that is 55 gallons. How does this compare with yours? Many thanks!
Ben Bray thanks! I just got this at my local hardware store, Lowe’s. I am not quite sure how many gallons this pond is but I am guessing between 20-30 gallons.
Hey, Beauiful pond, I was wondering if you've had any issues without using a pond liner, and did you have to clean the inside out before you put in livestock?
Thank you. So this pond initially had a preformed liner for a year or so. While cleaning it one day the preformed liner began to float. I realized that the barrel was holding water. I took out the liner and just kept filling up the half barrel daily until it was able to hold enough water. It was able to hold water for about 2-3 years until the wood started to rot from outside and began leaking. I don’t remember cleaning the inside before adding livestock but it took me a few months before I was confident enough to test if it could hold livestock. The livestock here are actually the original test fish I had. They are feeder goldfish and have grown now to about 4-5 inches in length.
Loved the set-up. Nice! Do your pots have drainage holes?
Thank you 🙏🏾 . Yes, all of them have drainage holes.
What filter you using
Just the waterfall filter on this one.
Hi What is the size of the tub you used? It's really nice
Thank you. This is half of a wine barrel. I am not sure exactly how much gallons but I estimate it to be 25-35 US gallons. I hope that helps.
Why is the water red? Did you not clean the barrel before you put the water and fish in?😮😂
I wanted to get them drunk and be happy 😆 Just kidding! I cleaned this barrel and soaked it for a year with plenty of water changes with no fish in it. Then I added plants and tested the water. When conditions were right I added feeder goldfish at that time they were over a centimeter long.
To answer your question, my guess would be from the type of wood? I dunno really.
May I know the plants you include here ?
I just picked some these plants in the store randomly without knowing the names but here are some that I know: water hyacinth, red stem sagittaria, and the hardy water lily. The grass looking plant on the left, I don’t know what it’s name is. Hopefully that helps.
@@BITTERFLEA Awesome!
Hiw did you make waterfall?
I did not make it. You can buy it at pond shops, Home depot, or Lowe’s. Amazon should have it too.
Can you show how to make one???
I would love to. I will save some money for it and make a video someday
Well I don't know much but I'd say that don't put water hyacinth with any livestock.
Why is that so? I am not aware
@@BITTERFLEA well because its propagation rate is high and it covers all the space and sucks most of the oxygen from the water
@@SanskarShrivastav thank you for that. In my case the goldfish ate all of them hahaha 🤣
@@BITTERFLEA well it can harm the fishes, I'd suggest put that in different pond.
@@SanskarShrivastav I have no more hyacinth left. The goldfish ate them about a few months ago.
