is it possible to replace only the metal black frame, if we remove the silver pin that is on the upper and lower side edge of the frame? I have broken both brackets on the pins above and below, so I ask if I could replace it?

I actually wanted to remove mine so I can black out the silver part in the indicators so that only the LED's would be visible when its on.
