I would argue vlad the impaler did the stuff his did for survival. My man had the OTTOMANS on his border and it was the only way to really keep them at bay
Kinda wished the soldiers in the god-awful sequel were given a very similar treatment as the British soldiers from Dog Soldiers. In that 2002 flick, Kevin McKidd plays a private named Cooper who quickly demonstrates being a trained soldier who's already shown to have survival skills and some leadership, even being more badass than the sergeant who's played by Sean Pertwee. One of the best things about the main cast is that they're not stupid. Most of them are trained in what they're supposed to do, fight while their own lives are still intact. Instead of panicking in a corner or trying to run away for their lives, they outright try to kill their enemies, even if they're werewolves who can only be killed by silver. One of the soldiers even lunges at one of the Lycans inside a car when he knew his fate has been sealed.
@@kyon813 I'd imagine Cooper would basically be a slayer if he were to encounter any more of the Jupiter Clan, or at least the mutant families. He'd probably lead a mercenary group sent to kill all remaining mutants after the family from the previous movie got rescued. Funny enough, the other character that survived in Dog Soldiers is a dog. And since Cooper is actually a dog person, it'd be wicked to see him team up with Beast.
People got it wrong. Beast is the protagonist. This is a movie about a dog getting revegenge after his wife is killed and his human family is attacked by a bunch of human cannibals. "Rip & Tear until it is done".
I wonder how long it will be before IPOS is just forgotten. Already, he barely comes up anymore. He made one big bang in his career that people flocked to see like a freak show, and then abandoned and sent right back to where he was: obscurity.
I find it interesting that certain circles of the internet will dehumanize someone based on their financial income and that would justify horrible acts being perpetrated on said individual. Yet these people are the ones who will browbeat you with their morality and how superior they are to the common man. Very Dark way of thinking once you remove the outer layers, and I am sure there are no real-world correlations right?
Unbiased take that doesn't make wild, reaching claims about the antagonists' motive for their murderous actions. This channel must be into guns and can afford to pay their monthly rent.

And for anyone disliking the horror genre: Genndy TRarkowskys "Primal" also deals in the same things, with the side story "Primal Threory" being literally about the theory of people pushed beyond a breaking point
I can't believe PoS doesn't make a million bajillion dollars with takes like "The murderous cannibal hillbillies in the desert are clearly Native Americans and black people." He obviously needs to try and cancel a much better horror UA-camr with Six Degrees of Hitler logic.
Good take: "Even regular, civilized people can become monsters, due to extreme situations" Reta___d take: "It'S AbOuT BlAck PeOplE" Also "People becoming brutal to survive" trait worked really well in 'Far Cry 3' and 'Tomb Raider 2013'.
Recently replayed Far Cry 3 and yeah, it did it brilliantly. Jason isn't "Bad", and I refuse to say he's as bad as the slavers, but by the end of it, he is absolutely just as brutal. He made himself a beast to survive, and deep down, he knows he enjoyed it.
The Hills have Eyes when The River have Lips asks its mom, The Mountains have Knockers if she’s single: 👁️🗻👁️ Also Beast is my favorite animal character in cinema period.
The obsession some people have with trying to find political messages in media is just terminally online brain rot. The Friday the 13th franchise has a strange psychological angle to most of the films but at the same time, they're dumb slasher films.
I take great comfort in the thought that we all have the capacity to set our fear aside so we can shred the monster that's trying to eat our family. The idea that we've become so soft and domesticated that we'd just stand there and watch it happen is much more terrifying.
Sound design in the original movie is so good. The quiet ambience and ominous synth music mixed in with the extremely loud sound effects keeps you on edge the entire time. Love that 70s grime.
My oldest brother got a chance to meet Micheal Barryman and said that he was one of the coolest famous people he ever got the chance to meet. He said they talked for well over an hour about all things horror. My brothers wife even said he was one of the sweetest, most kind hearted people shes ever met.
That “in praise of shadows” take has been used in soooo many videos & it’s freaking HILARIOUS that he was incapable of realizing how champagne socialist he sounded during the editing process. It’s basically a meme at this point.
While I could mention the wendigoon nonsense instead I’ll commend Michael Berryman for his performance considering he has no sweat glands filming in a desert couldn’t have been comfortable. He also has no finger nails.
The Hills have eyes is another example of executives trying to make it a franchise but it just doesn't work as one. The 1977 and 2006 films work as standalone movies that have 1 story that don't need expanding on.
I honestly believe that praise of shadows simply ignored the entirety of the film and made his own headcanon on what happened so he can make his horrible video about the movie.🐱
I don't remember the remake being particularly gory. In fact, I remember being disappointed the big headed wheelchair mutant didn't get his floopy noggin burst like the gross overripe melon it was.

Breadtube. Not even once.
@@CloakofAuron I've sat through the whole stream. Even with Loli's reactions it was a struggle to get through the nine layers of Breadtube
In a way... weren't they justified in protecting their land from perceived invaders who did not share their beliefs or practices?
-In Praise of Shadows, notorious anti-immigrant
I did mobilization training (military bullshit) in Oro Grande, NM and White Sands. Kept expecting to run up on mutant cannibals the entire time. Only saw coyotes and some sort of weird African goat some jackass brought in from Africa that escaped and flourished.
Wow. Damn that goat really got around.
That goat is absolutely GOATED.
Your videos come out at the best time. Whenever berserk crosses my mind, you always come in clutch. Now, i thought to myself "ive never seen the hills have eyes" and here we are. Keep up the good work and keep fighting the good fight.
The cannibals can be anything you want them to be. They can be allegorical for weebs and the hills are representative of their waifus.
And the Carter family are tourists who need to go away.
For all the videos that came out of the IPOS controversy, this is one of the few that actually came from a legitimate horror fan, and it shows in the superb quality criticism/content.
I would argue vlad the impaler did the stuff his did for survival. My man had the OTTOMANS on his border and it was the only way to really keep them at bay
Where'd he get the 10,000 dudes from btw? I had heard of that but I legit wonder "Who the FUCK were all those guys he impaled??"
Kino has arrived
"You think it's all over? It is now." *_BANG!_*
Kickass movie. Loli should talk about it this Halloween.
Dog soldiers is classic
@@kyon813 I'd imagine Cooper would basically be a slayer if he were to encounter any more of the Jupiter Clan, or at least the mutant families. He'd probably lead a mercenary group sent to kill all remaining mutants after the family from the previous movie got rescued.
Funny enough, the other character that survived in Dog Soldiers is a dog. And since Cooper is actually a dog person, it'd be wicked to see him team up with Beast.
Don't forget the guy who fought one with just some pots and then a random sword
@@doomguy19931 God rest you, Spoon. You went down like a fuckin' champion.

You keep saying that the hills have eyes in these movies, but they're all just regular crummy hills without eyes!
0/10, Hill Did Not Have Eyes, false advertising.
Wes Craven predicted "when the [thing in enemy territory] start speaking [language of enemy]" memes
People got it wrong. Beast is the protagonist. This is a movie about a dog getting revegenge after his wife is killed and his human family is attacked by a bunch of human cannibals.
"Rip & Tear until it is done".
But beast failed Ruby
@@reaperbloom Just like Doomguy failed Daisy...

I wonder how long it will be before IPOS is just forgotten. Already, he barely comes up anymore. He made one big bang in his career that people flocked to see like a freak show, and then abandoned and sent right back to where he was: obscurity.
Real quick unless he comes back and starts picking fights. Which is unlikely, based on what we've seen.
I still haven't forgotten Mundane Matt and Bouldergate. So... it'll be a while before IPOS is ready for memory purge.
@@Luridcontent >Bouldergate
Now this takes me back.
Beast is a pretty cool dude
Beast is basically guts but a dog heh
Beast is the ideal. What the job of a good boi is all about. The mutants just learned why Beast always got prime cut leftovers at the dinner table.
I find it interesting that certain circles of the internet will dehumanize someone based on their financial income and that would justify horrible acts being perpetrated on said individual. Yet these people are the ones who will browbeat you with their morality and how superior they are to the common man.
Very Dark way of thinking once you remove the outer layers, and I am sure there are no real-world correlations right?
they're just looking for an excuse to hurt people.
Unbiased take that doesn't make wild, reaching claims about the antagonists' motive for their murderous actions.
This channel must be into guns and can afford to pay their monthly rent.
Welcome to the almighty loli’s channel. One of the few people on the internet with common sense.
But Tal, IPOS stated the cannibals are misunderstood and that family had it coming!
So were the 3rd Reich. All they wanted was to keep the German race strong! 🤡
Left wing media analysis: "here's a somewhat contrived and convoluted explanation about how the media I'm taking about confirms and affirms my already established beliefs"
idk why but I read that in IPOS voice.
Here's how, in spite of being propped up and backed by every major corporation and government in the Western world, I _really_ represent the hidden truth and counter-cultural narrative "society" doesn't want you to hear- every online Leftist.
In praise of shadows will be the first guy in the gulag if his political philosphy came to fruition
I bet he played Half-Life 2 and was all "I'd love to be the guy speaking down on your form the monitor screen, justifying his betrayal to humanity and a mouthpiece for the Combine...it makes sense when you think of them as karmic colonizers just like what we did to indigenous cultures" LOL
So the Dog just pulled a Reverse John Wick, essentially?
Imagine going so far to even just making up head cannon for horror movie monsters.
Maybe, just maybe the Xenomorph is not “redeemable.”

got to say, I kind of love that dog,
serious that dog having revenge is great, they killed his partner and attack the people who treated him with love despite the dog having a history of violence. don't blame the dog holding a grudge
In a way, was Loli not justified in making a better analysis than Zane?
Good take: "Even regular, civilized people can become monsters, due to extreme situations"
Reta___d take: "It'S AbOuT BlAck PeOplE"
Also "People becoming brutal to survive" trait worked really well in 'Far Cry 3' and 'Tomb Raider 2013'.
The Hills have Eyes when The River have Lips asks its mom, The Mountains

Also Beast is my favorite animal character in cinema period.
The mountain have knockers would the porn parody title.
Beast was clearly a metaphor for the military industrial complex and the art deco movement or something and that's fuckin rad as fuck
Inb4 we get an IPOS Cameo. For all the Worst/Best Reasons
The obsession some people have with trying to find political messages in media is just terminally online brain rot. The Friday the 13th franchise has a strange psychological angle to most of the films but at the same time, they're dumb slasher films.
Damn i didnt know they made a documentary about cyrax
I take great comfort in the thought that we all have the capacity to set our fear aside so we can shred the monster that's trying to eat our family. The idea that we've become so soft and domesticated that we'd just stand there and watch it happen is much more terrifying.
Sound design in the original movie is so good. The quiet ambience and ominous synth music mixed in with the extremely loud sound effects keeps you on edge the entire time. Love that 70s grime.
"They killed off Beast." INTO THE TRASH IT GOES THEN!
I hope a mustache hippster don't try to justify the killers and talk about how the killers are the victims
My oldest brother got a chance to meet Micheal Barryman and said that he was one of the coolest famous people he ever got the chance to meet. He said they talked for well over an hour about all things horror. My brothers wife even said he was one of the sweetest, most kind hearted people shes ever met.
17:14 Ruby isn’t killed off. She’s just has a concussion.
I also drew that picture of her.
That “in praise of shadows” take has been used in soooo many videos & it’s freaking HILARIOUS that he was incapable of realizing how champagne socialist he sounded during the editing process. It’s basically a meme at this point.
I love how many of these comments are just dunking on in praise of shadows😂

While I could mention the wendigoon nonsense instead I’ll commend Michael Berryman for his performance considering he has no sweat glands filming in a desert couldn’t have been comfortable. He also has no finger nails.
This comment section is exactly what I hoped it would be
Also, Generation Kill meets The Descent would fucking rock
In the remake Big Bob Carter could have turned the cannibal mutants into a skin suit if he had come prepared.
Can’t wait for the deliverance breakdown
10:15 he is the bestest boy. I’d let him have all the cheese.
27:02 Excellent choice of movie footage here; We Were Soldiers is the shit
I don't remember the remake being particularly gory. In fact, I remember being disappointed the big headed wheelchair mutant didn't get his floopy noggin burst like the gross overripe melon it was.
I think you'd do an amazing job on "I have no mouth, and I must scream"

"the movie has many interpretations, you could say the hillbillies are native Americans and the people are Europeans" anytime i see this movie im just reminded by that drama
It will be difficult, but I'll wait patiently for a video on Deliverance. That will be so VERY worth it.
Dear God, the first movie was scary!😳
It wasn’t scary in terms of over the top blood and gore, but the suspense and morbid setting is what made it so damn frightening to me. And that’s what makes it so good!😎👍
34:01 wtf….thats like a squad of troopers right? You wouldn’t send a platoon sized force?
