I learned 10X more crucial and super useful info about random color/ pattern in this 8 minutes video than 10 typical 20 - 30 minutes Blender videos about material nodes! Thanks for being concise!

Your 8 minute explain everything i need to know about this node. Thank you very much!

I am also hoping for a multi-image texture node someday. Same material but different image textures in each object. Would be very useful. Thanks for this!

You can do this the same way as I demonstrated it in the video. Instead of the wave textures you simply use image textures. Then plug them both into a MixRGB node and control it with the object index. I hope this helps!

@@BlenderDaily Although if you have many objects(10+) it can get a lot complicated in the node system. Cycles needs a mult texture node with multiple color slots

Thank you for the tutorial! This is really helpful and covers important questions.
Could you help me with another one? How can I make choosable more than two textures?

      1. Plug the "Object Index" output of the "Object Info" node into the "Fac" input of a "Mix RGB" node to blend between the first two textures.
      2. Plug the output of the "Mix RGB" node into the "Color1" input of a second "Mix RGB" node.
      3. Plug your third texture into the "Color2" input of that same "Mix RGB" node.
      4. Drag another wire out of the "Object Index" output and connect it to a "Math" node set to "Greater Than".
      5. Plug the output of this "Greater Than" node into the "Fac" input of the second "Mix RGB" node.
      6. Set the "Math" node to be Greater than 1, that way any object with an Object Index of 2 or more will use the third texture. 😄

its a very good tutorial , i have a question for you ..
imagin you have a bunch of cubes ( that you array) and that you put random node to the color value.
then you separate this cubes (by loose part) Then the random color value is ok.
But -here is my question--> what if for any reason , you want to join all these cubes ? you will see that the random color is no more, and all the cube will have the same color value...
Do you know if there s a way to keep the random color to this new single object?

depending on what your using it for, you could just parent them all to an empty

Is there a way to use the object index to create texture variations greater than 2. How would I mix between 6 different variations?
