I'm astonished at how little attention this has gotten! This should be the benchmark for all 8-bit album adaptations! It's not just a beat-for-beat recreation, all the songs have been reworked to sound like top quality NES music while still being completely recognizable. The different vibe gives a whole new perspective on the album. I never realized just how beautiful The Tourist was as a finale until I heard the version here. Seriously, this is great!

In my head canon, thanks to this, Radiohead composed OK Computer while switching back and forth between The Goonies II and Blaster Master on the NES. 🫶🫶🫶
you did a stellar job, so detailed, so many little passages are so unique... it's a whole new album. definitely adds a layer to the original. i'll be checking out your other stuff :)
I was probably recommended this because I recently listened to the entirety of a piano cover of the same album, plus I watch a lot of video game videos. I enjoyed both of them, but for both I failed to understand what was going on in Fitter Happier. In neither of them was there seemingly any hint of the lead "vocal". I can understand that because there's a lot of non-music going on it's probably hard to do something that resembles the actual...sound collage...but it meant that I totally didn't understand what was being played until I listened to the actual track. I never really noticed the piano in the background before, which I'm guessing is where most of the sounds used came from.
Yes, yes, yes. Or, Si si si... I'm in Puerto Rico working hurricane recovery for a month, and I've been waiting for this one to brighten my day. Amazing as usual.
Seriously, your beats are dope! I've just come across this, but I feel like I'm getting some Castlevania/Duck Tales/Nemo Dream Master/Megaman in there. It's already in my favorites and I'm gonna come hear it here often.
Some old-school tracker programs =) I don't use any software to 'convert' the original songs into 8-bit in any way; these are composed by ear from scratch with self-generated pulse waves & noise percussion instruments. Unlike my previous albums, I decided to keep it all 8-bit/noisy and not use 'real' percussion.
I tried some FamiTracker every now and then and I know how hard it is, to make that stuff sound nice - so even more respect for your work then - keep it up! :)
This is incredible. This isn't a conversion, it's an arrangement. And arrangements are hard. Congrats.
Wow thanks for recognizing that! I appreciate the kind words!
If Thom Yorke had any sense, he'd buy the rights to publish this physically in some official capacity for OKC's 25th.
he’s a reasonable man, get off his case
I can't imagine sitting down with Paranoid Android and starting from scratch. What a mountain to climb!

You didn't realize how beautiful The Tourist is until this video?
@@k-leb4671 I was always more of a Motion Picture Soundtrack or Wolf at the Door kinda guy. Sometimes it takes a new perspective.
Wow, thank you so much for the kind words! That really means a lot to me!
@@darylbanner You're very welcome. I hope I get to hear some other legendary albums get this treatment someday.
