Ottawa seems to always find a way to win 2 or 3 out of every 4 games vs the wings and the game where Lalonde called dude a diver was just part of the latest episode of them finding a way. There were 3 calls that were very questionable that counted against the wings in that game. Lalonde was furious that dude dived and the ref called detroit yet again for a bs call after 2 of them already happened earlier in the game.
Its a weak and tired talking point--wings didn't get any calls for the hacks on G's hands, Walman went down after reaching for Brady's stick, and to top it off Timmy got his skate clipped when trying to dodge passed the defender. Like, take your bad calls with your no calls and be a grown up about it already lol

I scolded my dad just a tiny bit because he was complaining that they weren’t playing like if it was for the Stanley Cup. 😂 Players don’t want to hinder their season by wasting too much energy in the All Star Events and it’s not much like if they were given the choice to come once invited.

This year was way better and not nearly as cringe as previous years. I enjoyed most of it and the players seemed to actually care and try with the exception of Kucherov which didn't surprise me as I didn't expect him to care. I really gained some respect for Nylander though, he seemed to really enjoy and embrace the competition. He just genuinely seemed to enjoy himself out there.
1) all star game is cool bc it raises a tonne of money for charity 2) olympics were never best-on-best hockey because some of the best players cant crack Canadas or USAs roster but randoms from Italy will play 3) jets and habs trade good for both teams.
As a 37yo life long hickey fan i still watch it on espn+ later in the evening. Its definitely lostbits luster from the gilden tears of the lare 90s eatly 2000s. But i feel it still has a place in the game. The Olympics will help to break up the monotony of the event too.
I stopped watching the NHL All-star game decades ago, and nothing has convinced me to start watching them again. In fact, I seldom watch hockey anymore.
Idk if this works for the all star game but a cool idea would be to have the best 4 or so players from the NHL, who are willing, coach and draft a team of the best players from like bantam-midget. Then have a tournament. Those games would get so competitive and be way more fun to watch.
I see people getting mad at the all star game and I don't get it. I watch the skills competition but not the game itself. Its not ment for the dedicated hockey fan. Its for kids, new fans, and the casual sports fan flipping through the channels. If you aren't one of those people, just go enjoy a hockey free weekend.
I love the Stutzle haters. You showed the video and it was pretty clear he was tripped up. The same whining goes on all the time but no one mentions that Detroit has several egregious interference calls missed that game and I didn't see Jaques Martin calling up the league on the matter.
i said sid literally showed up for a couple interviews... and they still gave him shit about it. i wouldnt have wasted my time if i were him...they put him in nothing except passing to someone.
I'll take the World Cup in any firm we can get it, and hopefully, we get one in the summer. This 4 teams thing is stupid, Russia being omitted notwithstanding because Czechia, Slovakia, and Germany have high calibre NHL stars that their fans deserve to see playing for their countries
the actual highlights for the all-star game took up maybe a minute of this 8 minute video, and i still couldn't care enough to remember who won. I think one team had blue jerseys. They should just move it to the end of the season, after the Stanley Cup.
You’re 100% correct. I loved the skills. But to watch the actual game. 0% effort, I like the fact there is no hitting because who wants to hurt an allstar in a zero game. But like just give them all a break. What a waste of money that paid for those tickets. I remember watching allstar games in 80/90’s when they still hit. Not necessarily huge hits but simple checks and easy vs west. Now it’s literally a joke. Just take a week off mid season to let the players rest for a drag for last half instead of allowing shit players a great holiday and the stars might get hurt for a bullshit weekend. If you’re going to hold a legit allstar game. Throw sticks in the center and go hard. Not bullshit hard but hard. Let’s see stars that can be stars. Get injured, nhl covers. Otherwise don’t waste fans time.
skills is the only thing worth watching. Which is why kuch is a turd. The one thing out of the weekend worth a shit and he cant even care for 2 seconds. Then bench players like Aho and Kaprizov. Players i would want to watch because they are on a team i cheer for. They get shafted so kuch can give the middle finger to the league.
Wait wait wait…Conner McDavid was consulted on the skills competition, and then won it. Jesus Christ, I already thought it was bad he didn’t have to give the money to charity. This makes it even worse. This is literally like in the office when Jim starts employee of the month and then gives it to himself, except at least in that case it was basically by accident.
I thought it was pretty lame for Sid to not only miss the All Star Draft, but especially the Red Carpet. I was at the red carpet, and other than Matthews Crosby had the most jerseys and fans in the crowd hoping to see him. Don’t like that he let all those people down. He was even in the commercial for the red carpet lol
I like the Winter Classic as well as the All Star Game, but I really am trying to see what is more enjoyable about the changes they made to the All Star Game over the last couple of years. I thought last year was really lame and I did think the skills competition was better this year, although I fail to see why we needed celebrity captains this year… especially one that seemed to have had discovered hockey the afternoon before the draft 🫤.
How about instead of having an All-Star weekend, we have a Contract Break Weekend? Where the only players involved are those who's contracts are up later on this year? Instead of hoping for the likes of McDavid, Crosby, Ovechkin, Matthews, etc. showing up, we have say Stamkos, Voracek, T. Wilson, Bean, Wahlstrom, Lind, Liljegren, etc this year? RFAs and UFAs? Playoffs bring in older folk because baseball doesn't play since later on when it comes to ratings and most older folk don't care about All-Star since they've stopped hitting. All of this especially before the trade deadline. That way we don't have to bring in a gimmick like Buble who hasn't been relevant since his last Christmas song that we hear every once a year. Personally, I don't care about Bieber as much as I care about Montour and what he can do
How does LA expect to "catch some of the magic that the Oilers had" when they only manage to hire an 'interim' head coach? That just isn't good enough.
Considering the price for Lindholm I don't think the Jets overpaid for Monahan.......it remains to be seen whether it's a good fit and if he stays healthy, but the guy is still a heck of a hockey player and a great veteran
I’m so happy next few years won’t be the all star game. It’s such a waste of time. McDavid suggested a 1m prize for the best player, McDavid gave himself a 1m bonus.

@@DizzyDez613Players choose if they want to participate or not. And thats the problem with Kucherov, he said yes and took 1 spot, but didnt even try...
i enjoyed the all-star weekend, and the highlight for me is exactly that reaction by matthews. i lost it. completely hilarious.
and at least we can say the "leafs" won something this year, haha
We need a counter at the end of the season to see how many times the Leafs parade counter went on and off.
As a Leafs fan, this made me lol
I like Kucherov even more now
Ya it was so cool of him to act like he's above participating in anything and basically insult the fans.
@@Musso8771an insult to the fans is only having 12 players in a skills competition designed by one of the players competing based off his practice schedule.
It was all just a stage show. No skill involved.
Huh
Its a weak and tired talking point--wings didn't get any calls for the hacks on G's hands, Walman went down after reaching for Brady's stick, and to top it off Timmy got his skate clipped when trying to dodge passed the defender. Like, take your bad calls with your no calls and be a grown up about it already lol
@@anhi399 calm down there guy. I’m just adding context as to why Lalonde was extra pissed and animated. It is what it is though.
The NHL has destroyed the NHL All-Star game. The hardest shot is something worth watching but no more, for the rest I'd rather eat pizza and watch Monty Python reruns
The Prince of Wales v Campbell Conference, when divisions had names, Patrick, Norris, Adams, Smythe hockey was unique.
I haven’t watched the All-Star game in years
me neither in decades, I hate 3 on 3 hockey so I saved myself a lot of misery..if it ever becomes a relevant game again like it used to be years ago and not just a circus? I might then watch..but I doubt it lol
I enjoyed it but I don’t think Matthews was the mvp. I would have given it to Debrincat or Forsberg.
The only two reasons it was given to him were because 1. He scored two goals(which means he actually showed up) and 2. It was on home ice. If this was being done in Detroit, DeBrincat would have gotten MVP no questions asked, same for Forsberg and Nashville. It's all for show anyway, so at least the game itself and the shows were entertaining
Justin beiber is involved, I have no interest.
NHL is trying to branch out to different groups of people by bringing in bigger names which could lead to the growth of the sport. Some of the shit might be cringy as hell but if you aren’t into the idea of growing the sport then are you a true hockey fan? On a second note they could’ve picked way worse celebrities to get involved. At least the guy played the hockey and shows an interest. Grow up
Sid might be one of the most well liked players in history
I scolded my dad just a tiny bit because he was complaining that they weren’t playing like if it was for the Stanley Cup. 😂 Players don’t want to hinder their season by wasting too much energy in the All Star Events and it’s not much like if they were given the choice to come once invited.
Don’t forget that the same 5 players were involved in every skill
at the end of the day the all star weekend is widely for the younger fans, i remember being a kid and loving it. so when you see someone like kucherov not trying it sends a bad message, if i was 10 and my favourite player was half assing it in the game id definitly be upset and confused.
I overdosed on Shrooms when Bedard went down
😂😂😂
1) all star game is cool bc it raises a tonne of money for charity
2) olympics were never best-on-best hockey because some of the best players cant crack Canadas or USAs roster but randoms from Italy will play
3) jets and habs trade good for both teams.
I’m a hockey fan, so the All-Star game isn’t designed for me. Now let’s get back to chasing the Cup.
All star game was fantastic this year. Much improved
As a 37yo life long hickey fan i still watch it on espn+ later in the evening. Its definitely lostbits luster from the gilden tears of the lare 90s eatly 2000s. But i feel it still has a place in the game. The Olympics will help to break up the monotony of the event too.
I honestly forgot that the All-Star game was even on.
You called Winnipeg “ win a pig” I’m stealing tht.
Tate so bad
Tate McRae ? Y’all some virgins or some incels. She did fine.
Fr bro
Fr Cole really fumbled that
Nah she’s overhyped now. She’s basically gonna become the new Taylor Swift but for the nhl
@@mrskenobi67764I’m fine with that
Kuch was trying in the one timer comp but after he got boo'd i think he just said F it
cant wait to see Crosby playing in the same team as McDavid an McKinnon for the olympics!
Remember when the NHL did North American all stars vs World? Bring that back, also the classic 90s/00s all star jerseys too
Leafs should be Happy…. Their Toronto Boys actually tasted victory 😂😂😂
Aging myself pretty hard here but they use to be ALOT of fun to watch. Mid to late 90’s all star games were top tier and they actually tried.
To be fair, I honestly thought the game was Sunday not Saturday night
I see people getting mad at the all star game and I don't get it. I watch the skills competition but not the game itself. Its not ment for the dedicated hockey fan. Its for kids, new fans, and the casual sports fan flipping through the channels. If you aren't one of those people, just go enjoy a hockey free weekend.
Id much rather watch this channel than any allstar game.
❤️
I love the Stutzle haters. You showed the video and it was pretty clear he was tripped up. The same whining goes on all the time but no one mentions that Detroit has several egregious interference calls missed that game and I didn't see Jaques Martin calling up the league on the matter.
I'm just here so I don't get fined.
Another Amazing video keep up the good work my man
i said sid literally showed up for a couple interviews... and they still gave him shit about it. i wouldnt have wasted my time if i were him...they put him in nothing except passing to someone.
I had to decide between watching the All-Star Game and punching myself in the face. Now I have a black eye.
Good report my man.
I’m starting to think you’re the guy I wanna get my news from.
I sure hope you get more subs.
125k isn’t enough.
huge W for Matthews, Cup Parade is ON boys
Hi
They better raise this banner to hold up another 57 years of hope.
That’s what I thought when Ballard died.
hah the only cup he'll be raising is his coffee mug
Glad they got the win. Their fans needed a win.
I enjoyed this year's All Stars more than last. The obstacle course was so much fun.
NHL all star is turning into the NFL Super Bowl.
absolutely love the Toronto Parade tracker
Lindholm trade?
I’m one of those who don’t care about the All-Star Game.
I'll take the World Cup in any firm we can get it, and hopefully, we get one in the summer. This 4 teams thing is stupid, Russia being omitted notwithstanding because Czechia, Slovakia, and Germany have high calibre NHL stars that their fans deserve to see playing for their countries
I like the jerseys they wore for this year’s All-Star game.
i cannot recall a time when i thought the All Star game meant anything or was worth watching.
the actual highlights for the all-star game took up maybe a minute of this 8 minute video, and i still couldn't care enough to remember who won. I think one team had blue jerseys. They should just move it to the end of the season, after the Stanley Cup.
The big thing is the NHL needs to stop pandering to the non-hockey fans, and bring back the events that actual hockey fans like.
It wasn't entirely dull; the mascot dodgeball game was enjoyable to watch.
I'm surprised there was no mention of many NHL arrested
Is that pic of Kessel holding a hot dog for real?? 🤣🤣
Seravalli has to rip Crosby because he's had decades of Philly failing to report on, hence he's programmed to go negative
he is only 35 so maybe just 1 decade lol..but he looks like he could have reported on them since the 80's
The expectations placed on Laine by himself and fans were way too high from the beginning. Hope he gets the help he needs.
They need to play with full intensity, just no-contact.
glad they fixed the skills. its always been my fave of the 2 days and I quite enjoyed it.
Nothing will ever beat the John Scott all star game. Lol. Serious .
The All-Star weekend was a Yawner.
There was like one person there that didn't care. The skills comp was sick this year!
I don't give a "F" about the NHL All-Star game. Give the players 7-10 days off then get back at it
How about instead of having an All-Star weekend, we have a Contract Break Weekend?
Personally, I don't care about Bieber as much as I care about Montour and what he can do
My favorite show!
The kids care and that’s all that matters. These all-star games are meant to inspire future all-stars not cynical adults :)
The NHL and NBA all-star games make some 'fake' reality shows look more realistic.
Hockey Psychology thanks for the content you make, really. A lot of Leaf fans would be content bashing Kucherov for being the troll he is and Tampa or other rival teams but you give a pretty fair perspective on things and it’s refreshing. Love from Tampa!
