      hes never been able to fix her, only stop her from imploding, but luckily the tardis is wonderful and basically will save the man she(yes she does actually love him) loves from harm because she is wonderful and mesmerising and yes kinda sexy when she gets going. the tardis is beautiful and when the doctor is sad he cant fix her she gives him a way to undo the damage so they can be together for the last time(that time being until trenselore or as its known the place the doctor defied his own passing.)

    It was a real missed opportunity to have only three Clara’s. Imagine if every episode was a separate Clara. Imagine how shocking this episode would have been if he had listed off episodes revealing to the audience that he had found a plethora of different Clara’s.

      @@DogNamedWatson It would have been cool if the doctor had listed off other times that he met Clara that weren't shown on screen. @@-avalon-9440 You’re missing the implication that they could have picked up with Clara and the doctor as if they had already met. Every odd clothing on her could have been reasoned away as part of their adventures. Then this episode hits and we realize he had been finding new and different claras. Reintroducing each new Clara would undermine that kind of twist.

    Look at how differently Eleven displays emotion from Ten: Eleven says what he feels, but with an almost blank face, like he's too shocked to react visibly and he's putting it into words instead to confirm what he's feeling - look at how he reacts to seeing the TARDIS already exploded, here. He speaks a lot, almost easily, like he's thinking aloud. Imagine Ten's reaction: I think he'd go quiet, but his face would be distorted with pain and despair, and it would result in an angry, pained silence - or maybe he'd cry 'no' in despair - but he would not describe what he was feeling. Any words would have to be pried out of him, and they would not be about his own emotions. Those would be written on his face and mixed with anger. I know Eleven can get angry, too, but in these instances, when he expresses his overwhelming emotion by going wide-eyed and almost blank, I think Ten would be very different. I just find the difference interesting.

That spark of genius tightroping over insanity, and you know without a shadow of a doubt that he is about to do something incredibly stupid... that has a 2% chance of actually working... but we know he’ll always walk away from it, relatively unscathed.

    • @taylorb9484

      DarkComet360 I think a lot of the Season-7b-and-Clara bashing comes from the fact that a lot of people seem to ignore the important growth that Clara is causing in the Doctor. We actually see him learning a lot about who he is and what he's supposed to be, just from his search to understand Clara Oswin Oswald, the Impossible Girl. Most people want growth and character development in the companion...and so they see Clara as flat and uninteresting, and thus find Season 7b boring aside from the occasional twists and turns and special effects. If you ask me, Season 7b with Clara was a heck of a lot better than Season 7a with Amy and Rory. Though I'd probably still put Season 4 with Ten & Donna as my favorite. :)

      @StrifeSoul990 10 років тому +158

      Yes and no. He could still live. But he couldn't be the Doctor anymore. Donna's time with the Doctor really showed this. Watch the episode Turn Left. In the beginning, the Doctor dies because he didn't know when to stop.
      That's the real point of companions. After 1200 years, he's lost so much. If he doesn't have someone, someone innocent and good, he would destroy himself and the universe around him just to have peace. Another episode for example is the Waters of Mars, after nearly losing more people, the Doctor sheds all of his rules for just a moment, and he loses anyway.
      Basically, the Doctor isn't a good man. He needs someone good to show him the path that he can't see anymore.

    I really loved that epsisode as it was one of the few that centered on the tardis and showed what a magnificient ship she really is, her own pocket dimension, powered by a dieing star! There could be entiere worlds inside her to explore!

      The ship is basically an ocean liner designed to be piloted by a flight crew of six and presumably with support staff as well. It's established in the very first Fifth Doctor episode that large sections haven't been opened in centuries, simply because the Doctor and his companions tend to stick to the Control Room and the nearby residential areas.

    Out of topic but notice how the writers make it so you can start watching at the begginning of any doctors story. With every new doctor there is always normally a new companion that he explains his backstory and origin to so new fans can easily understand what goes on

    It is bad that I kinda liked this episode? I mean if you look past the really bad acting from those brothers and the pacing was a bit off here and there, but it had really interesting ideas and it was fun seeing parts of the Tardis. I think it was just a bit overhyped and probably could have done with a longer runtime, or even a second part. I miss the cliffhangers and the two parters. I mean, we kinda got one at the end of nightmare in silver but it was wasn't the same as previous series. BBC or Moffat or whoever, please bring back two parters!!

      TomPen94 I think she's an uninteresting character now. Her "impossible girl" storyline took half a season to complete. They completed it (at least it feels like completed) and what it left behind was a boring character. They focused on the "impossible girl" part more than the actual character. They need to bring something more to Clara (and I hope they will). Something that makes her stand out a bit and more importantly, something that makes her interesting. She could be a great companion but at the time she is not. Feel free to disagree though! It's good that some people actually like her!

      Yep! It's typical Moffat's lack of character development. He loves his timey wimey plots, but he hardly develops his characters. They are just plot devices. I think the thing that gets me about Moffat's run, is the lack of character development. Why invest in the timey wimey plots when you have no emotional connection to the characters? It's screenwriting 101.

      Sami Koivisto I personally really like Clara. It's refreshing to finally have a companion who doesn't just want to get in the Doctor's pants, and I like her sass and streetwise intelligence. I have to agree, though, that the 'impossible girl' thing was a bit laboured, and there wasn't much depth to her beyond that.

      Her with John Smith, yes was good. her with Capaldi, not so much. Honestly, she got too reckless, almost to his level. The companion is supposed to ground the Doctor, not egg him on. Early Clara was fine, but later she was just Doctor 2, minus the screwdriver. Did not help, that the BBC was trying to force SJW themes, into the show every week. The later Capaldi stuff proved that thought true, with Bill and her SJW BS

Except in one scene in I think the first episode where she walks past a mirror and looks into it. They didn't colourise her eyes, and you saw Clara. Was the "Impossible Girl" Queen Victoria as well? :P Probably not :)

      the location of the heart of the tardis depends on the desktop theme in the 2010 tardis for example it was in that big bubble underneath the console in the 2005 tardis it was inside the console so it depends the Eye of harmony is the piwer source while the room they went to in this episode was the engine room wich is not the same as the heart of tardis they are refering it as the heart because they are very deep inside the tardis interior but they are not in the heart itself :D

    • @danivarius
      @danivarius 6 років тому +9

      You lot need to do more reading up on the Tardis systems. The Tardis has two hearts, apparently; one being her link with the Eye of Harmony on Gallifrey, the other being the main space time element which is located under the console itself. I really did not like how the Eye was depicted here; it is supposed to be the nucleus of a black hole, brought back to Gallifrey by Rassilon & put under the panopticon in the Capitol (aka the citadel). All the power of the time lords devolves from it, it powers all their tardises and also anchors the web of time in the vortex!
      The TV movie with the 8th doctor depicted the Tardis’ link with the Eye quite well, I thought, as opposed to the stupid idea of showing it as a flaming ball of gas suspended in time!
