I was a young christian in the 90's and my husband had these tapes from when he was young. I listened to them over and over and over again praising the Lord to the top of my lungs :)
It was while listening to Petra that God spoke to me audibly, and said that He loved me, God has used Petra to minister to me, and many more I'm sure :) Praise God!!!!
Yes..omg! I did the same thing. well my brothers did in the 1980s i was 5. Even today this music is so powerful I was trying to go to sleep listening to this and I I couldn't help but just get this surge of holy energy!

i remember back in 87 when we used 2 compare petra and stryper..yet it was hard 2 choose cause both bands was at its best...i miss the 80,s so much

What a timeless song i first got hooked on Petra back in 1988 in Joplin Missouri on the On fire 🔥 why wait tour with Josh McDowell i also got saved at the concert to . I'm 50 yrs old now and still enjoy their music

Reminds me of my junior high and high school years....wow, what a trip! The Christian music scene of today is sorely lacking in this kind of hardcore stuff that hits hard and carries a strong message.
I grew up listening to them and collecting every album. Wish they were still together making music that was both unashamedly Christ centered and good sounding. It’s awesome music we don’t have much more in the Christian culture.
I love Petra also, grew up listening to them as well. You said that we don't have this kind of awesome music in Christian Culture anymore... I would have to say there is SO MUCH MORE awesome music in the Christian world now more than ever!!

I too was attracted by the christian metal scene and hard melodic rock. There was a radio show here in Los Angeles called the ground floor. it came out every saturday at 5pm but unfortunately the station changed formats to the wretched mexican music culture. I loved the ground floor and the message of hope they conveyed to the lost sheep who still wander out in the open fields of darkness.
Petra is one of the best Christian rock/metal bands.

Shortly after this CD was released, I had a dream that their previous lead singer, Greg X. Volz, returned to the group and was singing this song while playing a keyboard (perhaps a harpsichord) - I've seen Volz play rhythm guitar and percussion and have read that he could play drums too, but never seen or heard about him playing keyboards.
It would sound interesting if Greg X. Volz sang lead vocals on this song, although it might be a little out of his vocal range. He has a four octave vocal range, so perhaps he could do it.
