This one has been a long time coming, a re-visit to Kings Sutton featuring the StarlifeStudios 'Pet' Loco - 69006! You'll see this one a lot over the next few months so we might as well petition for it to be named the Morning Star!! (with a StarlifeStudios Logo 😃) Enjoy!
Kings Sutton railway station serves the village of King's Sutton in Northamptonshire, England. It is also one of the nearest railway stations to the town of Brackley. The station is managed by Chiltern Railways, who provide most of the services, including from London Paddington and Marylebone to Oxford and Banbury.
This was the hottest day of the year and I was out filming! 😂 I really like Kings Sutton and despite it being a least used station, it has a lot of activity!
This particular section between Tyseley and Kings Sutton has the most variety due to it being a key main line for Southampton freight. If you manage to, I would really recommend it. This was also the hottest day of the year so with the trains, peace and weather, I couldnt have asked for more! 😃
Wow, that last GBRf light loco that was going up to Kineton MOD Yard, I filmed it carrying the Explosives train the next day. That was one of my most interesting trains I filmed all year
@@StarlifeStudios Yes, I had to go to Crewe station at about ten o'clock at night to see it because I knew I wouldn't get another chance to film an MOD train for a long time
I inspected the crossing quite a bit whilst here and interestingly, the lights still make a small ‘click’ sound when a train enters the trigger section but the bulbs and crossing has been removed.
That’s Transport Legend, I really want to visit Carlisle (and Preston) but it is veryyy far away from home for me so I would have to plan a few days away. I will get working on this straight away :)
There are some minor differences which were clearer when they were built. 166s and 165/1s are 90MPH units but 165/0s are 75MPH only. The Chiltern units are also modified for use on the Met line with tripcocks and have a slightly different air conditioning system. There are some others as well like the interiors being different but they are more or less identical.
I'm only about halfway through but your camera work never fails to impress me. You probably have it in the video description or something, but what camera, tripod and mic setup do you use? 66134 practically belting it through there!

Even better, name it ‘rail on UA-cam’ with popular Train UA-camrs’ logos
nice
Why is it your pet loco?
I live in kings Sutton and I see these trains everyday! DB schenker and EWS are quite rare here now. 😢
I live there too..👍

Great video mate. Weather looked good. Makes me look forward to the longer warmer days 😀
You and me both! 😀 In Winter, its always a race against the sun!
Another fine compilation from an unsung station! You were blessed with good weather too which aways helps!

Superb!! ❤
Chiltern, CrossCountry and GWR … all rolled in one!!
King’s Sutton is such a unique place in Northamptonshire but so close to Banbury and Oxfordshire and close to the M40 Motorway.
Great video 😎⭐️👍🏽🎉
Great video again mate, you always pull it out the bag
hope the petition goes well!
Thanks Inky Squid, If only GBRf would name a train after me! 😃
Love how diverse some of the Chiltern mainline can be. Love to go there if I was able to :/
It’s a few miles west for me

Although I would have left a little earlier, when I saw this was running I had to stay since MOD movements are rare at the best of times! Thanks 😃

Great video at Kings Sutton mate 👍
Awesome!
I take it that barrow crossing is no longer in use as there's no walkable surface, but the warning lights still seem to be there.
I inspected the crossing quite a bit whilst here and interestingly, the lights still make a small ‘click’ sound when a train enters the trigger section but the bulbs and crossing has been removed.
Awesome video and happy new year
Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video
I cannot wait to watch this
This is gonna be a banger I can feel it

Great video. How many people record or is it just you?
Pretty sure it was just me on this day Joshua.

Lovely video. Might seem like a silly question, but what's the difference between a class 165 and 166?

The 166s had air conditioning from new, 165s didn't. Basically an LX (de luxe) version of the 165.
Nice one
Thanks Emma 👍🏻
Cool
Wait you live in King Sutton
I do not, I live in the Midlands near to Rugby.
Why is trains towards Birmingham Snow Hill are stopping here? It should pass through at this station
I believe it gets a two hourly chiltern service Robert. Thanks 🙂
@@StarlifeStudios I think that trains to/from Birmingham Snow Hill are arriving and departing at the additional timing

Thanks for your kind words Northerner Transport Hub. I use a Panasonic HC VX1 with Rode Video Mic and no tripod. Some of those DB 66s are dirty! 😂
