Hey juno i have been following your channel for about 6 months now. Your content is really helpful always. Can't beleive I am at the first one to see any of your video ever posted . Keep up the great work bro, cheers 🥂
That’s a great method for removing dark backgrounds from AI images, thanks for sharing, Juna! I’m curious, though, do you have an effective way to handle graphics with black strokes around them on a dark background?
Hi Juna, will you show us how to remove that pale background, mine still shows a background after i follow the process you showed. I and everyone else that is having this issue really appreciates it! I don't want to put them on shirts until i can get that removed. I want to thank you again for sharing these videos to help us!
Juna, awesome idea. That'll save me heaps of time. A graphic design question. When you removed the black background, the black lines that defined the rose petals were also removed as you showed. No biggie for a black background but if you wanted to keep the black lines to use the rose on a lighter background, is there an easy way to do this? If not again, no biggie, I will still use this technique from now on because it's so much faster and easier. Thanks again.
Thank you. I now get very similar results in Affinity Designer 2 by using Pixel Persona and going SELECT < SELECT SAMPLED COLOR and choosing the black background. Unfortunately on some of my Ideogram Designs when I remove the background, some of the leftover colors are very translucent. I'm getting this translucent result whether I do it with the method you mention, or the method I mention. Not sure the exact solution to this, but I'd love to hear if anyone else ahs noticed this. Thanks for the video though, I"m going to try both methods more and see which one I like!
@carltonmerriam7282 I've done that. I've tried everything I can think of, but for some reason on certain images when I pull the background it still does this. It's got me so confused
Hi Juna and thank you again for sharing, please tell me what to do when the background isn't black ? (even when it's a little bit different from black, it doesn't work), thanks for answering me.
A great video! Thanks for that! I immediately tried to reproduce it with Affinity Photo 1.1. That didn't work. And, I work with Dall-E, somehow I have not yet managed to get a plain one-color background from Dall-E, without gradients and without other objects. I had Chatgpt formulate a corresponding prompt for me. Unfortunately it did not work. Perhaps you have a tip for such a prompt
@ i did and in overall it works with the design setting in ideogram, because there you get a black background with just one black tone. I just got one problem: if i create something in ideogram with the general setting most of the time there isnt a deep black background, its like a dark grey/ Tshirt mockup color- so the white background removal doesn’t work quite well and there are always light pixels remaining- do you have a solution?
Thank you for your videos. I tried following what you did, but when I change the size and click on the center. It doesn't fit the graphic in the new dimension. So frustrated. I am new to affinity and am struggling learning it. If you have any thoughts on why it isnt fitting im the new size, please let me know! Thank you!
That would be great! Another issue i ran into when i tried putting it on a shirt, it still showed a pale background square. Thank you so much for sharing this background removal method. It is so neat and clean!@DetourShirts
This is great but the image looks translucent, like it became 80% opacity. Try putting a solid shape underneath the image and you will notice it. Can't find how to fix it.
Kind of. I use the designer pixel persona with the magic wand like he did in this video. There, you can also use an antialiasing option to make edges smooth.

I'll have to think about that one. That might be a little more tricky
OUTSTANDING!!!
This one went straight to notes Juno!
So glad yo like it

Yup... I did run into problems too. I'll show you how to fix it.
Hello juno, "Merry Christmas" 🎄✨ to you. What is the Photoshop version is this?
Ahhhh.... I probably should do a video for that
Amazing, thanks for sharing us 🎉
Thanks for watching!

You could just brush the black back in the petals

Try playing with the tolerance level.
@carltonmerriam7282 I've done that. I've tried everything I can think of, but for some reason on certain images when I pull the background it still does this. It's got me so confused
Yeah.... those can be tricky... you may have to use the eraser for those hard to reach areas
Fantastic! Thank you.
You're very welcome!
@@DetourShirts Quickly. A faint grey box surrounds the image after processing. Can it be made completely transparent? Appreciate it!
Thanks a lot juno
Always welcome
Hi Juna and thank you again for sharing, please tell me what to do when the background isn't black ? (even when it's a little bit different from black, it doesn't work), thanks for answering me.
In that case you will have to make it black... or you can try changing the levels so that it is black
@DetourShirts thanks for answering me Juna 👍
Perfect, thank you so much!
Glad it helped!
This is quality! 👍🎯
Appreciate that
Juna, I see you use dgb to upscale, Kittl has an upscaler what is the difference? thanks
Kittl has a limit of upscaling to a maximum of 4096x4096... DGB does it 6x or even 8x which would make it even bigger. Kittl is a lot faster though.
Is there a similar feature in photoshop?
I'm not sure I haven't checked
Thanks man
You're welcome!
Is there any upscaler that works well on mobile?
And thanks 🙏
Ohhhh... I haven't tried any on mobile. I don't know any right now
@DetourShirts Oh .. well thank you for replying . Please Let me know if you find any later. 🙏 Happy weekend . 👍
Genius ❤
Thank you
Sir very useful video, can we do the in photoshop, please make video about it,much appreciate 🙏
I'm not sure. I'll have to try it
A great video! Thanks for that!

I'll see what I can do. Black background should have worked but I'll keep trying
@@DetourShirts Thank you very much for your kind reply! Affinity Photo 1.1: I must not have understood it properly, that's why it didn't work.
Great job sir. I do have one question, does that method work on photopea?
I don't think Photopea has Erase White Paper. I may have to find another way for Photopea
Did you try to create a makro for all these actions to automate it?
I haven't but that's a great idea
@ i did and in overall it works with the design setting in ideogram, because there you get a black background with just one black tone. Yes then you will have to resize it. I may have to make a follow up video on the different challenges
That would be great! Another issue i ran into when i tried putting it on a shirt, it still showed a pale background square. Thank you so much for sharing this background removal method. It is so neat and clean!@DetourShirts
That propably works in affinity designer too if you go to pixel persona
Good point
After I invert it after knock off the white paper, the is light grey area...any way to knock that off?
Possibly the eraser if it's easy
بارك الله فيك
Thank you
Hey nice tutorial , but do you know how to do the same on photoshop ??
Not sure... I'll have to try it on Photoshop
Is there something similar to this in Photopea if you don't have Affinity?
Not that I know of
@@DetourShirts how about photoshop?
This is great but the image looks translucent, like it became 80% opacity. Try putting a solid shape underneath the image and you will notice it. Can't find how to fix it.
Good point... I think it would still work though
Would it work in affinity designer in pixel mode?
Hmmm... I'm not sure. I'll have to try it
Kind of. I use the designer pixel persona with the magic wand like he did in this video. There, you can also use an antialiasing option to make edges smooth.
@ i do the same. Was just interested to see if it was possible. Was playing around today, just got as far as inverting.
What if it's a white background, what's the workaround?
then you don't need to invert it... it's already white
Do you price all your designs at 20.99, even the newest ones?
19.99 or 20.99
🔥
Thank you
remove black with "remove black matte "
How did I miss that? Thanks
