It´s refreshing to see a return to hand drawing and the creativity that comes with it. It will be super fun to watch as you become more and more adept at using procreate. I can learn along with you 🙃Thanks for letting us into your world of creativity. Happy New Year 🥳
Two finger tap erases previous stroke. Much easier. And you may want to adjust your streamline in your brush for a smoother stroke…found under the brush settings.
Pewdie Pie did this last year. He wanted to get better at drawing and so drew every day and he got much better. You're already a great artist, so I'm sure you'll be even more fantastic at the end of the year! I can't wait to see what you'll be designing! 💜
Great job on your Procreate clover! To help make my drawing smoother, I like to fold a tissue and place under my drawing hand so that it will glide easier on the screen. You can also buy partial gloves that do the same thing but a facial tissue under my hand works great for me. Look forward to more drawings!
Welcome to the Procreate world, Juna! Your day 1 is a lot better than mine 😂. I just upgraded from a gen-2 ipad to the m4, and to some extent it feels like I am re-learning the app along with you. Ohhh! For the Donut, Art with Flo, has a tutorial just around donuts. It along with a couple of her other tutorials laid the foundation for what Procreate can do. Including the assist and symmetry tools. Depending on the design, I round trip between Affinity and Procreate too. I think that its a more realistic workflow.
Love procreate I use to use all the time to draw my designs but now I just use it to fix and make my ai art more my own. I love to import into kittle and use the vectorizer when I want to make mine a vector. I think this will be fun cause I don't draw as much as I use to.
Go to apps in the app store and find Procreate. It's not free but it's one of the best and a lot of people use it. It's a one time fee not a subscription
if this is gonna be a drawing challenge, PLZ dont use the affinity-thing you used at the end.. That ruins the handdrawn-element, at least for me. Otherwise good job! :)
You could do some of both. I have Affinity Designer but don't have Procreate. I think we have to do with what we have or invest the money to have both. I was hand drawing my designs, scanning them to my computer, putting them in Affinity or Canva, adding a layer over my hand drawing, making that layer transparent so I could see my drawing through that layer and tracing it with the pen tool, then adding color. It worked!
Juna, thank you so much for this! You read my mind, I want to practice drawing with procreate this year as well 😊 I will do the assignments right along with you. I made the clover, and even though I followed your tutorial, mine came out quite differently, and I’m actually happy it’s in my own style 😊 Thank you so much ❤
I think seasonal and holiday designs sell better than evergreen ones, and you can make sales throughout the year. Evergreen never work well for me, I think there's too much competition.
I get the idea of doing the opposite of AI. I have been drawing for 50 years. But IMHO it’s misguided in today’s POD world to go this route. You could have created umpteen designs in the time it took you to draw that one clover. In AI, you could have even prompted it to design a roughly drawn four-leaf clover. Your effort here is fine as a personal hobby, like crosswords or coin collecting, but POD shirt design requires production speed as well as image/idea quality. Buyers won’t care how an image was produced, only whether they like it or not (and other sellers will steal your hard work in a second, erasing your time investment in originality). It’s like testing horse-drawn carriages after the car has been developed, or hand-setting type after computers have been introduced. As I said, I’m an artist, but in POD I’m going where the quality and production move me fastest to posting and selling. I love your channel, but this encourages a vast amount of wasted time that provides no advantage in running a POD business.
Thanks for the feedback! I will keep your advice in mind, but I am trying to prove to people that you can still be profitable while also being a hand-drawn artist. Yes. I will still use AI but I also wanted to get better at drawing too. Don't worry I'm not making less designs. I'm actually don't more designs I'm just not sharing my AI designs this year.
I believe it would be easier if you had some image references off-camera. However, I honestly think it’s a waste of your valuable time to go back to hand drawing, especially in this AI era. That’s just my perspective, though-of course, you know best how to manage your own time.
I know there is an easier way to do it... I just don't know how yet. Plus this is just a simple design. The designs will get more complex as I learn more. I think it will pay off in the long run. We will see.

Thank you! I'm going to try my best!
Good stuff! Hope to draw along with you. Happy New Year, Juna!
Thank you. Yes let's draw together. Happy new year

I didn't know that. Thanks!

Thank you...I'm sure I'll learn a lot along the way!
Thanks for sharing your process with us. Happy New Year!
You are so welcome!
Nice Drawing Detour 👍 I hope I Can Draw With You Daily
I hope you can too
I am so excited that you’re going to be using Procreate! You will be a pro in no time 💪.
Thanks... I'm going to try my best!
new years resolution to draw every day ended on the second day lol
Oh no... that's okay... you can start again. It's more about learning than doing it everyday
You are the best 🎉
Thank you
That's actually what we want ..great ❤video
Glad I could help

That's a great tip! Thanks for sharing.
So glad I found you. You are such a good teacher and approachable.
Thanks so much, I hope to keep improving.

I will definitely check out the donut tutorial! I'm loving Procreate.
Wishing you peace for the New Year!!
Thanks, I wish you peace too!
So fun!!
Thanks
Juna you can use the symmetry tool available in canvas...drawing guide.
That's really smart. Thanks for the tip.
I enjoy sketches and will definitely follow along and sketch with you.
That's awesome! Hope you enjoy the process.
Hy .thanks Juna for your video. Happy New Year .🎉🎉🎉😊
Thanks for your comment! Happy New Year to you too.

Great ideas. I should try to fix AI with procreate too. I also like the Kittl idea
Juna happy new year good luck with your drawings too much work for me I’ll continue doing my AI DESING.
It is a lot of work. I really want to get better at it though
So Procreate is only used for sketching right? As it does not produce a vector format. So will you be tracing all your designs in Affinity?
I think so... I don't know everything about Procreate yet. There may be a way to more easily change it to a vector. I'll find out
what size and opacity you are using for your brushes? Thanks
I'm just using 100 percent opacity right now and I'm not really concerned about the brush size but I think I used 53% on that one.
@@DetourShirtsThanks, Im excited to draw along with you. Happy New year
Can i scan a hand drawing and upload
Yes you can
Where can I find the app for procreate?
Go to apps in the app store and find Procreate. It's not free but it's one of the best and a lot of people use it. It's a one time fee not a subscription
Do I download it from my mac app?
The app store
I would love to learn how to draw a schnauzer, if you can work it in to your videos.
That sounds fun! I may need to work up to that
if this is gonna be a drawing challenge, PLZ dont use the affinity-thing you used at the end.. That ruins the handdrawn-element, at least for me. Otherwise good job! :)
I will probably stray away from it once I figure out how to use Procreate a lot better. I do want it a vector at some point though.

Yeah.. that may be true... We'll have to see what happens this year
We still waiting for the 12 month o design with detour sales
Yes... I'm working on that one too

Are you sure you want to do that? It seems like too much
At least don’t do community on youtube
I'll see how long it takes. It's all a test and learning to see what works
