    Definitely smart to bring extra cord. Never know how far apart trees are gonna be. Thats a good reminder for me. Last weekend daughter was hanging her hammock and we had trouble finding the perfect trees! Thanks Jonny!! 🙂👋

      Hey, Bre! Oh, I feel you there. It took quite a while to find the right trees without any widow-makers down in Missouri. Thanks for swinging by for a visit! Have a great weekend!

    Great video, Jonny. It sometimes seems silly to carry emergency stuff on a little hike but you only need to need it once to be convinced of it's value. Great job showing some of the options. It doesn't have to be heavy, bulky, expensive, or difficult, but being able to get out of the elements can be vital.

      Good morning, Jacqui! I know, right?! I can be a real hard sale to get folks to carry a little something with them. The odds are that nothing serious happens, but no one wants to be that person that goes missing and ends up on the news. Thanks for watching and for always being so supportive! I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!

    Very good information, Jonny. I especially like the way you tied the Trucker's Hitch and used the Walnuts to tie the Poncho. This video will be watched and saved by me for use next week. Thanks for Sharing. Stay Safe.

    Excellent idea on the taught line hitch!!! I can’t believe that I never thought of that!! You could also leave a slip loop in the end to allow for easy untying.

    • @ExpeditionaryJonny
      @ExpeditionaryJonny  4 місяці тому

      Thank you very much! I'm having a little trouble envisioning how you would use a slip loop to finish things off without losing tension on the ridgeline. Are you talking about the same knot you would use for crank bait? Or, something closer to how Dave Canterbury does to finish his ridge line? Dave's technique is good for storing the excess cordage at the end.

    Nice tutorial on shelter making. These ideas are great as a beginning to a shelter,especially if it’s cold out. These are the basics everyone should know that go out in the wilds. It’s like I was thinking the other day in my blind,how can I make this work if I had to spend the night out there. Got me looking to see how much natural materials I could find to fill it with to keep me warm. Hope you have a great weekend brother 👍👍
