This is a good intro to these carbs. But he never tried starting to see if he fixed it. I once went round and round. The longer skinny tube is critical and I also used an old school motorcycle mercury sync tool to get them synced. You can kinda also use a hose and listen to the hiss, (but best to leave the sync adjustments alone like he suggested in previous comments.)
hello, can you tell me the rest of this video, for the synchronization and adjustment of the carburettors, please? I have the same engine with some small engine speed problems!
The rod that connects the carb throttles together just pops off the ball socket so you dont have to mess up the adjustment, however checking sync is not a bad idea.
jmdogful that long tube is the bane of my existence. Had 4 cracked tubes 2y ago and right now 2 I've inspected are plugged where it changes diameter. This is first video that shows it is clear.
no we didnt, my buddy only took it out twice since last year, had a lot of windy rainy weekends. I still think that idle jet is under that little dime size button on the side of the carb. I wonder why honda's manuals don't show this?
Do you know where or how to remove the idle jet? The Honda manual does not show it, a Honda mechanic said Honda outboards have an idle jet circuit. I did a complete tear down and rebuild with all new gaskets and hoses and seals and new jets and my engine idled only a little better than before. Are they under those dime size covers on the side of each carb ??
This guy needs some lessons for sure. Using the floor of the shop for carb work is just stupid . Anyway he should've checked that small emulsion tube for cracks , honda is notorious for them fracturing causing rough idle plus his removal and assembly of the intake is just messed up but he's not an outboard tech so I would look elsewhere like a manual instead of this video for help.
Hey Breck,Welcome Aboard, thanks for subscribing I hope you rang the bell and soon I’ll have my medical set and I’ll be heading out to the deep blue looking for the pelagic highway JT HOOKED N ROLLING OFFSHORE 🇺🇸🇺🇸🐟🐠🎣🛥🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hey Breck good video. Very good knowledge of the outboard repair. I also subscribed and rang your bell, keep them coming JT HOOKED N ROLLING OFFSHORE 🇺🇸🇺🇸🐟🐠🎣🛥
Yo Beau!! Well done with colorful vocabulary... Great job..
You're actually a really good teacher! Well explained. Thanks

Thank you Beau!
1) What about syncing the carbs? Is this something that is critical to do each time the carbs are dis-assembled?
The rod that connects the carb throttles together just pops off the ball socket so you dont have to mess up the adjustment, however checking sync is not a bad idea.
So, did the carb cleaning fix it ?
There are a bunch of videos on putting engines in, but we want to see the Beau signature way.
I think its called the emultion tube. (The tube you did not know the name to that the jet leads to in the carbs)

emulsification
Where can you buy the carbs?
It's called the main emulsion tube
