I have 6 keloids. My Mom had a huge one on her ear i grew up seeing it. I mirrored her attitude once i got mine. I simply acted like it was not there so I could carry on without being sad about it. Last year I randomly looked at my Moms ears her keloid was gone! She is 70 i do not want to wait that long but it gave me hope.

I have the exact same scar as Akila.. Same size and shape from an injury when I was seven years old. Kids used to ask me all the time what it was. As soon as I reached 18 no one asked me about it. So much so that I forgot about it. It doesn't bother me, I'm nearly 40 now. But I'm having a hair transplant in two weeks and slightly concerned about the tiny keloid bumps.

My wife has keloid on her chest, she fell terrible pain in the chest because of yellowish fluid that gets there every 5 to six months. Once the fluid comes out of it then only she fell relaxed but it takes a week to two weeks to come out fluid. What to do to get fluids to bring out so she doesn't suffer a lot.

Did one keloid surgery in T&T had to go to two hospitals one doctor did not believe in radiation,I spoke to another doctor who was willing to try it work out well,a little scaring and a little itch now and then,I can live with that alright.

I have multiple keloid on my shoulders, my chest area and on my bottom jaw line. I tried steroid injections but the doctor gave up on me. I went to another doctor who told me he's scared of doing surgery on me because they would grow back and I would sue him (I wouldn't) and told me to try to massage an expensive greasy cream with a massage roller 3 times a day into them, but i gave up after a month or two. Since then there grew more keloids and I look like I have multiple pimples just like i did at the age of 15 when i literally was full of pimples. Now I don't know what to do anymore

@@dominiquepatoir5653 I'd almost feel better if people asked what it is, but everyone just assumes they're pimples. Keloids are just not known here where I live. Not even my bf's mom (a nurse) knew what it was, when I got my first one and neither did my family doctor. My bf's mom and my mom even tried to pop it. And people keep giving me advice on what products I should use to clean my skin like "I see you have problems *makes circles around my face with their hand* and I use this product and I swear by it! I had problems too and I tried everything and this is the only thing that helped me" 🤦🏻♀️and even when I explain what this really is they're like "yea, so this product..."

use mederma scar gel and put on silicone scar sheets always
I’ve used Two things to soothe itchy keloids 1. Apply WHITE vinegar generously spray or dab on till running over. NOT regular vinegars , those will irritate them. 2. Aloe Vera gel directly from the plant if possible (and a cutting that’s kept cool in the fridge).
Many times cuts can turn into keloids ; to prevent this take high doses of Vitamin C while the cut is healing I take Ester C capsules (1000 mg) per day while cut is healing and 50 mg zinc a day. This will help prevent it turning into a keloid.

@@meherajmarklv5870 when i'm asleep I'm not aware of any itching, but when undressing before bed when keloid is exposed to air it starts to itch and I have to be careful not to rub it with fingernails to relieve the itch or do it very gently (which is hard to control) but if I have white vinegar or if i don't have access then applying tea tree oil which is second best. Aloe vera straight from my plant cutting helps. Certain parts of the keloid have a pain sensation. I might move my fingers around it to cause more circulation, which seems to help but very gently. Also after a shower to always apply Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Body lotion (frankincense & myrrh) or the dryness is quite unbearable

Did your skin thin after the injection? Mine did and the scar spread way bigger
My advice: injections works, I’ve done it before and it flattens the keloid. However it came back. My suggestion after injections you have to be proactive to prevent it from coming back. My recommendation is to use tree oil and apply it periodically through the day. Also use mederma scar gel through the gel. And sleep with a silicone gel scar sheets at bed time. Do this for at least a year..
I had injections they don’t last, they go down for like a month then comes back bigger then I got it removed and it came back

I have keloid on a place where nobody sees, oy private part. I have had 5 surgeries. When it's removed another one forms in a different direction in my private part. It sometimes becomes itchy and when you are among people, you cannot scratch it, people may look at you weirdly. I want to get rid of it but it's costly I don't have to hd money. Am born and bred in Nairobi, Kenya. I have had surgery twice at Nairobi Hospital, 3 times by a doctor from Aga Khan Hospital and even had radiotherapy. I feel uncomfortable cause of the itchiness. Will I ever get help.(Both doctors are well known plastic surgeons)

Dr. Jones my husband has had multiple surgeries, and perhaps ineffective laser treatments on his face. The hair continues to grow and cause tunnels along his jawline. He continues to have cysts of ingrown hairs. How do we get this cycle to end? He still has a massive keloids growing on his chest 7x3 that has only been treated with injections. In general yes but if you have a radical and rigorous therapy to go along with the surgery then the likelihood is great that they will not grow again
For the guy that had it on his face if you notice it was in areas where he was going to grow hair, and where he likely sleeps on.
After the radical surgery -- from that new beginning it is critically important that two things take place for as long as possible: 1) that everything stays clean, and 2) that there is continuous pressure on the affected areas.
Usually ear keloids no. But chest keloids are usually a beast and comes back bigger and worst after surgery.
