The first actual budget build I've seen, every other build is going all-out to create the best bike, that includes alot of bling. It's good that someone has decided to break the trend. Really good used bike, great budget build, but the only thing that annoys me is that rear tyre. I guess you guys don't have mud like we do in NZ.
Thank you! The rear trials tire is kind of more personal preference and depends on what terrain you'll be riding in. Like you said, you have more muddy conditions that you need to combat so this tire wouldn't perform all that great. Over here in the west United States these tires really track well for us on single track and woods riding. Thanks again for your comment Scott. ~Vinny
200's will never die. Someone will always fix them. They are worth it. My 18' XCW 250 may go away
but as long as I can swing my leg over the 200, it will stay.
04-06 ktms are so pretty
nah they’re ugly asf to me
I absolutely love you guys!! Great prices and the shipping only takes 1-2 days for standard $7 shipping. #1 place I go to buy parts for my bike, and gear for myself!
just wanted to let u guys know...that Ricky mtn is top notch...best prices..earn rewards money when purchasing items..fast shipping ..awsome videos...love rky mtn...the best! ! o and I'm wearing my rky mtn shirt as I type this
That’s an awesome bike. I like how you only fixed what you needed to and just enjoyed it.
That's the goal. Get the basics done, then you can build it up even more during those winter months. Thanks for watching.
xc-w is one of my favorite models
what year
I don't know if your're ever looking for cool things to do. But lets get a full on works bike for the die hard trail riders. Lots of carbon fiber, lot's of Ti parts, crazy low end torque, I love keeping my bike in third in the tight trails... but with a high mph for those races we all do back to the parking lot from the trails. Super light, and with a really low key sleeper look. Let's be honest guys, are bikes usually cost more than most our cars/trucks in the end.
Great video, it is now 2022 and I bought a 2007 with lots of dollars in aftermarket parts. It had Flex bars and Scoots stabilizer lots of carbon fiber and the forks and rear shock were setup
for trail riding. The only problem I found was the power valve was in need of some work and it needed to be completely taken apart and inspected, then brought up to date. As soon as the
snow goes I hope to see if I did it as good as I think I did....Cheers....James in WA ST
thats so cool how they do this, am i right guys?!
+Jase Fair Yes!
should i get a ktm 200?
Exc or xc-w perfect bikes for enduro
I just got one and absolutely love it
I learned a lot from this video! Awesome!
This is a good series. Practical for most riders.
Great summary! Thanks for sharing - I just got an 07 250xcw, so this is just what the doctor ordered...
hey can you please elaborate on the power valve arm getting pinched? shot of or video of how not to hurt it
Do more of these
Love the budget builds.
Should I get one of these bikes I'm 14 5foot6 and 160 pounds I think can handle the power I ride a 670 snowmobile
Damn that is a nice bike, good job on the tune up's
Awesome - neat work, guys! Keep up the good work.
nice job! I have the same bike and my project is underway.
great video. what year did ktm go to the 250/300 frame for the 200? 2008 or 2009 ???
+Rikki lee After 2007 they changed the frame to the 08-09 style for the 200xc-w
@@rmatvmc Don't let that change be a deal-breaker.
Im thinking of buying a 2007 300 EXC with a REKLUSE CLUTCH AND COVER, runs great upgraded timing for $3500 is that a good price? You paid $1300? how? Am i getting ripped off at $3500?
I ride a yz85 at the moment, but it's getting a little small as I'm 5'4. Can i lower a 200 xc w at all?
Im thinking about buying one of these 2011 3500 probably get him to get the price down a little but im deciding between this and a 2016 yz 250f 4200 i would get him down a little to probably im coming from a yz 80 and been riding for about 4 months and ive riddin my friends kx250f and im just fine on it and wish there was more power. Is that 200 a good deal. I have pretty good throttle controll so i dont think this is to big i just would have to get used to it
Anyone know any websites or something where I can buy a KTM 200?
How much does that piston long?
Wow, maybe i should rebuild my whole bike. Im so poor :(
Can you tell me what is the original transmission ratio of a Ktm 200 sx 2004? Well I have one with 14-45 and it runs very fast giving only 50 mph, thanks and Sorry for my english 😁
The original gearing on that bike was 13-45.
Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
@@rmatvmc Thanks!
The words "KTM" and "budget build" just don't seem to go together.
Omg this vid is amazing, a vid on a budget crf450?
1300 is a screaming deal on this bike
No kidding! I bought my '07 for quite a bit more than that :/
What was the reed cage you used?
Moto Tassinari VForce
where can I find a bottom end kit for a 2004 KTM 200 SX?
+Andrew Smock www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-schematic/7
+Andrew Smock Yea, unfortunately KTM made that bike for only 2 years so we're limited on what we carry for it. HotRods offers a great aftermarket kit like +Daniel Myers mentions.
+Rocky Mountain ATV MC I've been told I can use the crank from any KTM 200 bike is that true? I'd hate to order one and it not work.
+Rocky Mountain ATV MC I've been told I can use the crank from any KTM 200 bike is that true? I'd hate to order one and it not work.
+Andrew Smock From my machine apps listings for a HotRods Complete Crankshaft, i show it fits 200xc 07-09 and the 200xc-w 07-2016 bike models only. I can guarantee it to fit those bike models only sorry.
I must have missed it but what year is this bike?.
This one is a 2006 model. Thanks for watching!
What year model is this bike
This bike is a 2006 model.
Maybe just a touch up that skid plate a little with a grinder or a file for thang is hideous
What timing! I'm about to buy an '06 KTM 200 XC-W and this video is super helpful. I'll be sure to come back to your site as things need replaced. Thanks for making this video. One quick question - do you see a big advantage with the '07 vs. the '06 200 XC-W? I've heard there may be some differences w/ the chassis, but what are your thoughts?
+FlyingJJD I would lean towards a 2007 just for the fact that there are more aftermarket replacement parts for that motor. 06' you're limited for some reason or another?
+FlyingJJD KTM did change a few things in 2007 on the 200 XC-W. As with this bike I wouldn't say they are deal breakers but suspension would probably be the biggest change. Either one of these bikes would be a great bike! We offer plenty of aftermarket parts and accessories for both bikes as you'll see on our website. If you have any other questions please let us know! Thanks for watching!
+Rocky Mountain ATV MC quick update on my own 2006 KTM 200 XC-W build. As I mentioned before, I did go ahead and buy the '06 I found. Had 76 hours on it, needed front fork work, some bearing replacements here and there, brake and clutch bleeding etc. almost the same types of things you mentioned here - and just like you I ended up right under $3k total after purchase and shop cost. And it's awesome, runs beautifully, great bike. I have bought several things from you guys already and I have been really happy with your service! Do you have any pointers on when a new cylinder is needed, or any signs to look for that the top end needs rebuilt (or a certain number of hours)? As I said, it runs like a top so if it ain't broke I won't fix it but just wondering. Thanks again!
+FlyingJJD Dude, that is sweet to hear! Nice job. For the top end rebuild, i would refer to your machines service manual.. The manual says at every 40 hours when operated for motorsports use and every 80 normal operating hours. The cylinder you would want to look for any glazing on the nikasil or scarring. Depending on the condition you can either get it relined with a nikasil coating or even bore it and press a new sleeve in.
@@rmatvmc They will last over a hundred hours. Tough stuff.
Rocky Mountain what do you do with these bikes???
+Donovan Hill Most of the projects are “loaner” bikes from a shop or manufacture and then are returned after the test.
+Rocky Mountain ATV MC Oh well it looks sweet I would love it for a trail bike!!!
+Rocky Mountain ATV MC I have wanted a 200 for a wile now since I was 13 which now I am 16 this would be a epic and perfect Enduro/Trail Bike!!
Donovan Hill Hopefully it sparks some ideas you can do to your bike?!
Donovan Hill Great trail bike!
What
Slow and gutless is what needs fixed.
First :) hahaha
