low end is fine on my '17' 250 xcw (my first 2stroke), in fact it's very impressive. I also have the '14' 350 excf.....honestly, I have way more fun on the 250 and didn't notice any massive low end difference when swapping bikes, basically was laughing why I'd not gotten a two stroke sooner....the difference between a 2stroke and 4stroke motor is obvious, however I didn't notice anything seriously lacking when climbing up steep jagged hills or rocks in the Texas Hill Country, the power is there (also, how one sets up the Power Valve spring, red/yellow or green is important, depends on when you want the powerband hit). All of this was before adding the RK Tek head, which I did just last week (a $340 mod). With the RK www.2strokeheads.com/ , it does provide a broader deeper low end and mid range, plus it's cheaper than converting to the 300 kit....the 250 is a more flick-able feeling bike than the 300 (which I've also ridden). Frankly, I now feel I have the best of both worlds (with the RK head mod, no exhaust change needed, I did change to the VForce Reed kit, also have a Lectron Carb). It now feels much closer to a 300 and a 4 stroke, and it's still a bolt of lightning on the pipe.
Thanks guys, much appreciated!
really professional review :D keep on the good work !
Great stuff!!
