Well, I'm not hallucinating then. I thought this video is a fever dream of mine. But still my head hurts and world is spinning around. I already took some meds but it still fricking hurts. Thank god I don't have to type cause of my text to speech keyboard is working well. I might stop watching them for similar contents. Even that magic Vs Yu-Gi-Oh hurts my head alot.
Huge compliments to the editor! Managed to make the regular top-down-text-so-small-you-need-the-hubble-space-telescope-to-read exciting to watch and easy to follow/understand. Stick to this style, 10/10 💯🔥
it's a fake card, but so are basically all the rules of this video's duels, so perfectly branded, i'd say. also the bunny misspell too, perfectly chaotic duel.
I’d’ve probably preferred it if every rules change wasnt so one sided. The mokey mokey one when she was going to get the next chance to attack, the trap cards on her turn with a ‘destroy 1 monster’ spell card in hand. The damage one knowing she had a magic cylinder set meaning she just needed to find any way to hit over a 1900 while he still couldn’t attack her. The fact that it even came down to chance at the end is a miracle in itself.
"Some people say why is there a Magic player on a Yugioh channel" Probably because he decided to take a deep dive on Jund and needs to quickly create content to keep the card gods happy
That was fun, Johnny has been a great addition this far. Fun episode all around! Now we need a version of this on the MTG channel with someone who doesn’t know how Magic works.
Hey, not tuned in for a while. Just wanna say I appreciate the editing style. The way you're showing the card text and the cards that have been drawn by it(the pot of duality part) is really helpful. It's more visually pleasing, sorta like if I were to watch it as a master duel game. Keep it up, gang!
I never thought mtg would make me respect Yu-Gi-Oh. I have been playing magic since I was like 8 and when I was younger I used to think Yu-Gi-Oh was a joke, like a non competitive card game with brain numbingly simple rules. Turns out I could not have been more wrong
as someone who plays both, they each are complex in different ways. Mtg has more complexity in resource management (hand size, mana, mulligans, etc) and bluffing (hardcasting something and acting like you dont care if its negated or that you can respond to their negate) yugioh complexity more deals with knowing all variations of both your and your opponent’s combo lines, and knowing when and how to interact with them to maximize disruption to your opponent, while minimizing your own risks (chain blocking, etc.) adding to this complexity is the extra deck, which essentially is a toolbox of removal and win-cons that you have to consider how to optimally play around (both yours and your opponents.) both games have similar complexity in sideboard, while mtg has a bit more freedom with what to put in it, and yugioh has more OP insta win cards if you open them after siding.
Wel like someone else said. You would not be wrong if you only played the first few sets. Yu-Gi-Oh started of as a very basic game. With cards that where not that complex and quite easy to understand. It became more and more complex as sets came out though. Some combo's, lines of play and such are even so complex that even some judges make mistakes what the exact rules for certain cards are. So yeah, it would really depend on when you started playing Yu-Gi-Oh, the current cards are pretty nutty and hard to understand I would say. I have played the game for a long time when it first came out. I stopped playing after a while, because it just didn't jive with me as much as it used to. I also play magic since Beta btw.. So I do have experience with both games. Magic can be as complex as Yu-Gi-Oh, but with different factors. Like someone else said, its more about resource management.. Though in Commander, specially in a higher competitive scene it can get really complex with the stack and it's resolve. Something that is generally not as complex in Yu-Gi-Oh, due to their limit of what can be on the board. So TLDR, both are complex games currently, just in different ways. ;)
17:00 1: the effect of jirai gumo to halve your life points does not inflict damage, 2: the objective was to deal damage to your opponent, and this affects your own life points
Karl I see what you did here... Well, it is a great concept that you should milk before other channels copy it... First time watching a Yu-Gi-Oh video just cuz I loved the mtg one that dropped yday.. So good job team Cardmarket.
The extra rules were so unfairly timed and one sided, it actually made me feel pissed off for Adam, lol. This really could have benefited from not giving every advantage to only one side.
I like how literally none of you enforced Doomcaliber Knight's mandatory effect. It's non optional. When Witch of The Black Forest attempts to trigger its effects, Doomcaliber will mandatorily trigger its effect to negate the effect of Witch of The Black Forest. Again, this is a mandatory effect, non optional. The game state after this interaction at 10:07 and onward is basically illegitimate.
What the fuck is a Bakemonogatari shot doing in the thumbnail LOL did ya'll think the parking lot was a duel field? Banger show, just took me completely by surprise
I challenge the ygocardmarket channel on behalf of the mtgcardmarket channel, to play yugioh against mtg, with the opponent having the lifetotal of the deck system you play. MTG player has 8000 points, Yugioh player has 20 points.
@Cardmarket - Yu-gi-oh!: Almost cheating number 3 the magic the gathering player that added the rules, says the first player that damage is opponent first gets the 3 blue eyes white dragon, so calling the toss a coins wrong would result in damaging yourself so it would not count as your opponent damage you. And also Jurai gumo if you lose half that is not considered damage and jurai gumo still attack even thought the player lose half his life points. so either way the blue-eyes should have gone to here. Since she called it right cheating number 3 never happen. The real cheating number 3 one blue-eyes white dragon is in the Extra monster zone, you can't do that because it did not come out from the extra deck, it comes out of special rules.
Hold up. Why did leoni get the three blue eyes? I thought in order to get them, you had to deal damage to your opponent, but all leoni did was call Jirai Gumo's effect right, which does not damage the opponent. Speaking of which, if leoni called it wrong, would adam really get the 3 blue eyes? Think about it: It was leoni's card, under her control that would affect her lifepoints, not adam's card. Also one last thing: Now i'm no expert on the rules, so i need someone's expertise on the matter, but is halving LP the same as that player taking damage, or is it a "Your LP becomes 2000" kind of deal? I apologize if this is a dumb question, but yugioh rulings is weird, and if for some ungodly reason halving LP does not equal taking damage, that would mean that neither player would get the blue eyes from jirai gumo's effect, regardless of the coin toss. Either way, this was a fun episode to watch. And i think a tourniment based off this concept might be exiciting if done well.
Leoni attacked with Jirai Gumo, killing thunder king and dealing damage, so she got the blue eyes'. You are right though, Jirai's effect to lose life points is technically not damage. It really was just a lose-lose for Adam.
Leoni got the Blue Eyes for dealing combat damage with her Jirai Gumo. I don't think the wording of the bouses is all that important since it's just for fun, so they probably would've given Adam the Blue Eyes if she got it wrong.
@Cardmarket - Yu-gi-oh! Already cheating just 3 minutes into the duel, when Witch of the black forest activated effect doom calliber knight auto tributed itself to negated the activation of Witch of the black forest. Cheating 1 the guy, cheating 1 the girl for thinking caliber knight quick trigger effect is optional.
Okay but Leoni also said she could attack twice with Jirai Gumo. She tried to "cheat" just as much, even if her attempt got interrupted... Honestly I don't think either one of them cheated, they were both just unfamiliar with the cards because of the strange circumstances.
Unfortunately this was just us not realising it was a mandatory effect! It's a super old card and at a glance we missed it was mandatory. Definitely not either one of us cheating, we don't condone actively cheating to get an advantage! - Adam
Unfortunately the game is irreparably damaged. Doomcalibur Knight's effect negation is mandatory, so when Witch was sent to the GY Doomcalibur would have killed itself negating Witch's effect.

Man I wish CardMarket wasn’t exclusively in Europe. 😢
@@VoltVonGothat explains why I can't find United States under country :(
I saw this video 8 months too late and literally have a card called "Demonic Mixmaster" in my customs cube 😔
So like who's gonna tell them Doomcaliber Knight is a mandatory effect and Leoni is forced to use Doomcaliber to negate Witch of The Black Forest

There is Carl, so this video is better now
Carl looks like a crackhead whos selfaware and decided to switch addiction to card games.
I feel like this is what Pegasus' first tests of Duel Monsters looked like, with Carl filling in for Pegasus.

Can we talk about how Pippolas Musical Introspection is a super crazy custom card and not even a real yugioh card?
You can really tell a Magic Player picked out the cards!
- Adam

yeah, idk why it would be anything but mokey mokey under his hat.
The magic version of this in the other channel was better: Players got punishments if they said specific words
"If I can interest you in attacking Leoni instead"
Thats not how yugioh works Carl LOL
Something about 3 instant magic cylinders for free seems to swung the results pretty hard here
What's under Carl's hat?

Blue eyes in the emz was wild to watch. She really wanted to summon out that bystial 😂😂😂
Blue-Eyes is the most EXTRA monster though.

I’m a MTG player, but I had to watch it for Carl
He definitely makes everything better!
At least Adam got to wear a cool hat
10:22 We really just ignoring Doomcalibur Knight's mandatory effect negation, huh? 😂
Ignoring: 🤢
Forgetting: 😎
- Adam
Doomcaliber would have negated Witch of the Black Forest no? Or am I missing something?
It should have because doomcaliber is not an optional effect, it would have blown itself up to stop forest
I was just Going To say it to , have a 🍪
even if forest resolved, can;t activate same turn u search with witch anyways, so it was incorrect twice lmao
Pankratops effect to special is not an activated effect, so that play was fine. But yeah he shouldn't have had it in hand in the first place.
Whoopsie, we forgor.
- Adam
14:00 they forgot to apply the 1000 damage from caius' effect because it banished a dark monster
Crossover episodes are always great. Keep it up!
Pankratops was illegal! Witch effect would have been negated by Doomcal mandatory effect
The editing budget jumped. Love to see it. You guys are great.
17:00 1: the effect of jirai gumo to halve your life points does not inflict damage, 2: the objective was to deal damage to your opponent, and this affects your own life points
I noticed that too, but having the interaction resolve the way it did made for a more fun and interesting video
I think I just like videos where Carl wears a silly hat. The energy is unmatched.
They said she gets the Blue eyes not that they’d get special summoned
Dang it man, I haven’t played yugioh since PSV, but I love these channels so dang much! Keep up the great content!
Me and my buds did this challenge. In the end we where all naked
While I do not like the Mokey Mokey murder in this Video, the Mokey Mokey in the hat was actually quite based. Gotta remember that one.
A hard decision to blow up Mokey Mokey, but the right decision.
- Adam

Carl is getting a lot of mileage out of that outfit
Hey, he spent a lot on it, so he's getting as much use out of it as he can!
He wears it to the offices constantly.
- Adam
...not like it really matters, but Leoni should have taken 1000 damage from Caius' effect.
So we get funnier pegasus wheel, well gonna try it for the next local I guess.
You should make it if they get it right, they get a staple, if they get it wrong they get a stinker
I love that when they cut from the set where the duel is happening to the commentary, it's the exact same set. xD
Kinda upset that with the Mokey Mokey and the goat token they went with a coin flip and not the Mokey Mokey Hall problem.
he'S slowly turning into magic the no- I mean magic the carl
You should have Johnny or someone else do this on the magic channel
Doomcali is a mandatory eff, right?
Doomxalibur's negation effect is mandatory, so when witch activated, doomcaliber should have tributed itself and negated it.
i mean, it didn't matter in the end, but Leoni would have gotten 1000 damage from Caius effect, because Sangan is a Dark type Monster
The poor guy never got a single card from all the side quest. It was a literal one sided value engine
Did they forget that doomcaliber’s effect is mandatory?
The extra rules were so unfairly timed and one sided, it actually made me feel pissed off for Adam, lol.
This really could have benefited from not giving every advantage to only one side.
10:35 doomcal is mandatory, it *must* be tributed to negate witch of the black forest here
I think Carl discovered coffee this week, and I love it.
This video was scuffed from the very start with that fake, custom yugioh card. And it just went on from there.
But I still loved it!
missed the doomcaliber trigger, it's not optional, should have negated the witch and prevented the dinowrestler search.
I also kinda wish I could just buy those sleeves specifically in MTG size.
DoomCal and Witch activation was missed
As a DJ that was super fun! (It´s DJ)

No hammer time for Carl.

Are there any videogames like duel links or master duel for magic?
10:30 The Knight is a mandatory negate
Worst support ever, you pay money for support and get no help in return, they don't even have enough members to response in a reasonable time
18:30 tbf, all the random events just screwed adam over each and every time, with hardly any chance for him to beat the objectives first
Did you guys private the video on release? lolz
Mad hatter Carl is the best
We have affectionately nicknamed him "Billy Bonkers".
- Adam
Why did they get the wrong cards? Leoni should have had Frostasaurus, Crass Clown, and Darkfire soldier not Adam. Leoni even has Adam's Ojama
6:01 I mean Kenji does have intersting ears
What the fuck is a Bakemonogatari shot doing in the thumbnail LOL did ya'll think the parking lot was a duel field?
Banger show, just took me completely by surprise
ERM AKSHUALLY THAT'S Kizumonogatati and not Bakemonogatari 🤓 (I'm joking and I'm not actually sure if what I said is right lol)
Am I hallucinating or they did whack the game purposely making the guy lose? Maybe I am cause I'm burning in fever while watching this.
This reminds me of playing at a kid.
But, like, technically - isn't jurai gumus effect a loss of LP, not "damage"? I know it didn't change the outcome, just pointing it out?
King of Ear Destruction - Skrillex

Fun concept but the game was just a bit to cringe. Loved the dj names part and the bad decks tho
Poor Doomcaliber Knight beeing totally ignored
funny how all those extra opportunities only came up during her turn
4:33 isn't it bass (sounds like base), the musical term, not bass (sounds like ass) the fish?
why doomcaliber knight not negate witch?
Modern Yu-Gi-Oh. 20 minutes turn of actual boredom 😂.
