Designed perfectly. This is exactly how hard it should be to swap these. Every other company with a more difficult install is doing it terribly wrong. Bravo on Dodge for this one... Granted, they should just design a blower that never needs changed- but this is the next best thing.
Thanks for a really good video. Mine would fade in and out, ultimately just cutting out completely, I figured the motor was going bad. So For shits and giggles fearing nothing to loose, I gave it a couple good bumps with my hand and it came on strong as ever!🤷I’ll ride it out as long as it works but I’ll definitely save this video for a quick swap!
Mine just started acting up in last 2-3 days. It's been 100+ here in Iowa. It'll come on and then shutoff come back on and shut off. So I'm hoping it's nothing major but at least I know what to try now. 👍
I tested my connector and I have power and the control wire is working as you showed it should. I changed the motor and still nothing. Is it possible I bought a bad motor? Or anything else I should check?
Got the same blower motor mine has these little medal things on the panels. Should I remove them before installing or do I install them with those medal pieces? Little medal brackets holding on panels. (3 of em)
That's actually a necessity that comes with experience. If you've ever gotten down to the last one and gotten it half way out -- and now your part is dangling and falling down -- and you're still fighting to get to that last 'hardest to get to' screw-- lol.. It can become an ongoing nightmare in a hurry. So saving the 'easiest to get to' for last becomes a natural evolution-- to avoid that struggle that you know all too well, from before. :)
So if im getting nothing at the end of the connector with my test light will it be the connector itself? I removed the connector and tested it from the front end of the pins and I get power to it except from the rear end. What would you say it is? I just installed a new blower motor and nothing. Tested the fuses and all good
Sounds like the controller if you have a manual temp controller, meaning you do not have a digital readout. If that is the case it is probably this part here. amzn.to/3QptA2r
@@jasonjones8235 yes front what I had it was the AC system would signal the power relay for the blower motor. Yes stupid design. You can just check the blower motor relay is getting a signal to to turn on
Did it stay working? Because mine went out and came back on 2 days later. Now I shut off truck and restart until the blower comes on..No one can figure it out
@@tonel5540 not sure bc I was helping a friend of a friend and they got impatient and took it to the dealer and they had to replace the fan. So a quick test would be when it doesn't work turn the a/c on and see if you fan is running or not. Basically if the condenser fan is running the blower motor should work.
I have a 2018 Ram 2500, for some reason the relay for the blower motor keeps failing, I'll replace it and it's good for 6 months then the relay burns up and I have to change it, would a faulty blower motor, or one that is going bad, cause the relay to keep failing/ burning up?

You need to make sure you have a good power and ground. And then you need to make sure the control wire is working. If they are then you probably got a bad blower motor or the wrong blower motor. There are blower motors for auto climate controls and manual climate controls.

The blowers on the 07-13 Silverado/Sierras are the easiest. Pull down on a tab & twist the motor out. Can change one of those in 5 minutes.

Great video and explanation of what to do. I thank you sir!
Thanks man! Turns out I just had a loose wire on the blower. Boom! Ac cold
Thank you for the Video
I’m going to replace mine Now
This video was GOD SEND. Very well done bud!

Was it the motor?
@carsbikestrucks17 no mine was the fuse. Been working ever since.
Thanks for the information

Having issues with a 16 no ground just two hot leads on my blower motor .?
So it looks like the black wire should be grounded. If you do not have a ground you need to find out why.
I think just like you do, always take out the hard screw first….get her done and then cruise to the finish line😊

Where is that located
@@311racer You should be able to follow the wires to it.
I just replaced mine. It ran for 10 seconds, then nothing.
Need to check AC fan. If the fan is bad it will turn the blower motor relay off. How do I know! Bc I got my but kicked by this.
@@DJTJ13 Do you mean the Condenser fan under the hood? (not being a smart alec, just trying to clarify)

Depending on how the relay is failing could be caused by a blower motor pulling too much current.
What does relay mean?
