Apologies if my audio is a little weird - I'd set my filming gear up in a new configuration, and since making this video I've realised that my microphone was slightly blocked so the sound is not fully balanced (long story!). Thankfully it was an easy fix and hopefully future videos will be all good. 🙂
When you said "It's been 6 months since I filmed an art haul..." all I could think was "Forgive me father, for I have sinned. It's been 6 months since my last art haul." 😄
Dear Becky, I think I’m saying this for all of us...we actually need to see everything swatched, everything in an artwork of yours and everything “in action”! I am so happy whenever I watch a video of you! I am unfortunately not able to click the like button immediately on every video, because U suffer from a counting ocd. So, it has to be “the right number” for me to click on it. This time it was the “right number”! Same is for comments, so I’m a lucky person today! Love your videos
That's totally cool, I kind of understand the number thing, as I often will look to see what "Like" I would be on others' videos. You've gotta do what feels right! 😊 Also I have a whole lot of work ahead of me to film all these paints, haha.
OMG Fantasia... My mumsie got me a set of Fantasia drawing pencils waaaay back in the day and you just brought me back to then. In the 90's where I lived we were lucky to find any kind of art supplies. Now Fantasia's really hard to find even with the internet access. I've also collected quite a few Van Gogh paints, and got the dot card to at least try the whole range. Aside from Kuretake, Van Gogh is my favorite student line. I just wish they had an Opera color to play with, but otherwise it's a great introduction into watercolors without breaking the bank. Lovely haul, you got some unique finds!
Oh yes I was waiting for this one😂 I love the coloring book and the mini sketchbook from the local artist, so cute! The Kremer palette was definitely quite odd😅 but the Rembrandt half pans in the wooden box is absolutely gorgeous. I’m so jealous because of that wooden box haha! Im so excited to see you put everything to use!
I'm working on queueing them up; it's so hard to decide which to film in what order....I've just been randomly picking them out of the To Film drawer. 😂
My local art shop recently started selling Art Creation sketchbooks. However, the pages were all yellow cream, not a white page in the bunch, so I didn't buy one. Those covers are beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing you use the Kremer, Rembrandt, Rosa Gallery, and Old Holland watercolor paints. What a sweet souvenier is that sketchbook keychain! I hope you'll add your own little drawings of Greece. I enjoyed peeking at your purchases.
I've only ever seen the yellow page books as well! When I realised the paper was white on these books, I had to grab a couple. There were so many pretty designs to choose from, it was hard to pick only two, lol. I love my little keychain, and yes I will have to do some tiny drawings in it. 😊
so many beautiful supplies! The book trinket is lovely and I'm head over heels about the "witchy" shop and their illustrations! The Rembrandt box also looks beautiful, I love wooden boxes. Thank you so much for showing us, although I'm greek most of these stores are new to me. Hope we get to see swatches and how you use these. (Oh by the way, don't expect too much from this watercolour paper, this is what my young students use in primary school😸)
Wow that van gogh palette look so nice! I loove unusual looking palette and even the color selection look so interesting. And omg the sketchbooks look so pretty! I hope you enjoy Rosa Gallery watercolors, I love their botanical set and what's really great about them is that they have many curated sets.
Great haul! Rosa gallery paints are excellent and all the rest are intriguing especially the Kremer, which I would like to see a demonstration of. Have a good time with all of these goodies, Becky.
You got a nice art haul from Greece Becky! I'd like to see you paint with the 14 Old Holland tubes, Rembrandt, Kremer and Rosa Gallery watercolor paints. I adore your handmade souvenir book, the Owl necklace and seashell, they're all so cute.
Loooove LOVE the little book souvenir and the bag he put it in.... Also looooved that wooden Rembrandt watercolour set, it looks vintage, either way it's definitely unique - at least here in Australia it would be unique...
Oh, that Fantasia colored pencil brand used to be the store brand used by an art and craft store (A.C. Moore) that went out of business on December 20219 here in the USA. I bought the 24 set tin since they were so inexpensive. My expectations were pretty low but for the intended use, which was blocking out and planning sketches, I knew that they would work. I was pleasantly surprise by how vibrant and creamy they turned out to be! No, they are not FC Polychromos nor Holbein but for the price, they are a pretty satisfying art supply item. I hope that you are just as pleased with your purchase.
Thanks for sharing all your treasures from your trip. Look forward to seeing the swatches. I vote for the kremer new to me paints the gold looks awesome. Love the tiny book and the cool ink bottle, nice choices to remember your trip by. Hope you took lots of photos!
Oh Becky, what amazing things you bought! I would suggest having your husband translate the products that are written in Greek to you. Like the paint with a solvent smell. As for your other souvenirs, yes please make a video on them. I don't know what video i want to see first. Maybe the Kremer paints, because i haven't seen anyone else do a Kremer paint video. I am glad you had so much fun. If i ever make it overseas i want to go to Amsterdam. That is where my grandma and her family were from. She made it to America right before the war. Unfortunately, the rest of her family died in concentration camps. Anyhow, if I make it to Amsterdam I will be sure to purchase some Old Holland watercolors.
My translations are on the cutting room floor because I kept mispronouncing the words and in the end I gave up and cut that bit out, haha! Very sorry you have some sad family history with the camps; I visited a couple of them when I was in Germany years ago and they are very sobering and haunted places. 😢
And I just checked yesterday for a video and here you are. That Kremer box is on my wishlist for at least a year - looking forward to seeing you play with it. An interesting thing, technically you do not paint icons, but you write icons. Cheers~
I am looking forward to trying out the Kremer paints! And as for icons....I know very little about Hagiography. Nothing would probably be more accurate, lol.
Wowzers!!! What a feast for my eyes! amazing haul :D I'd love to see the Holland watercolour paints, quickly followed by that very pretty wooden boxed Rembrandt watercolours, lovely video! :D
I just got the Talens Art Creation sketchbook with the floral cover in size 5.1" x 8.3". (13x21CM) I'm in the U. S. and ordered it from Amazon but it shipped from Germany. It's beautiful and I love the white pages! I can't wait to see your videos of the products you got! ❤️😊
I'm so tempted to start one of the books right now, but I also have the yellow page book which I am not even close to finishing, so I'll see how long I last before I cave in and start a second book, lol.
I recently discovered a new to me UA-camr called Gabrielle Anna Cormier Art that does some really beautiful artwork using the Kremer Star Gold. She just absolutely raved about it. So, I went and checked it out. It does look wonderful-but the shipping was going to be quite a bit more than the paint :( , so I decided to pass. Maybe one day. It sounds like you had a fantastic trip, looking forward to seeing you try some of those wonderful goodies! (Especially the Kremer!)
I'll look for her channel! 😊 Maybe once I've swatched the gold though, so it doesn't affect my first impressions using the paint. From the tiny swatch in the tin it looks amazing!
I was so hoping you got some old Holland when I watched your last video, yay! Can't wait to see what they're like! ❤ I have a different kremer set, they are amazing and many are very granulating. Some of my absolute favourites
The wodden box you got reminds me of a recent trip to Prague. In the display window of an art store they had a full 72 set in a beautiful black wooden box of the vintage Derwent Rexel Studio pencils. And just like that, they were mine. Felt like an amazing find.
I love everything you bought, I’ve been to Athens but sadly I didn’t see that man’s little stall, so I shall defo look out for it when I go again one day.
We have very similar buying habits I see 😅 I went to Amsterdam last month and got the very same small royal Talens sketchbooks you got, same covers and everything. I also went to the Van Gogh museum and had that orange palette in my hands for a while but decided not to in the end. The metallic paste you got looks very similar to something I bought in Brazil, we call it metallic wax. You can use it for crafting, specially for effects on wooden and ceramic objects. They can also be mixed or used with a spatula and stencil for some 3D effects. I have tried both Rosa Gallery and Kremer. I like RG, but somehow the regular colours from Kremer I thought felt a bit chalky. The metallics are incredible though.
Haha that's funny we have the same books! I love the designs on the little square ones. I guess I'm going to find out how the Kremer paints are for myself soon, I'll see if any are chalky or not. Ah yes, a few comments now have mentioned that the pots are metallic wax - I shall find a use for them I'm sure! ❤
@@BeckyTregear I don’t know if they are new but the art store nearest me (120km away 😢) has begun carrying their 10ml tubes, too. You can’t beat the price of them…full pans for 5 CAD. I have found them to be a bit sticky to get the label off. Popping them in the freezer for 15 minutes or so helps with that. If you carefully slice the top label off with a scalpel, you’ll be able to leave the colour name and pigment information stuck to the sides of the pan.
I have the little Kremer set, the chart I made for it gives a surprisingly useful array of colours, the white I’m afraid is a mixing white designed to dilute the intensity of your mixes without making them opaque, so you can get very subtle pales too. The gold is just lovely, I hope you have fun with it. I liked it so much that I ordered a half and a full pan of gold and silver from Kremer to include in a couple of other palettes. If you want an ultimate silver though take a look at the metallics set on a recent Eve Bolt review. Or look at the maker, Art Spirits I think. Would love to see the Van Gogh orange set swatched out as the box is lovely, I usually like metal boxes but for orange I could be tempted! Have you overcome the jet lag yet?
Ah yes, I did some more research and it is Zinc white, not Titanium, doh! Oh well, I'll figure out something, and I'm glad that lots of fun colours can be made. I saw Eve's review on those shiny metallics! ❤ I'm past the jet lag, and now have the winter blues a bit, but otherwise am fine, haha.
Hmmmmm. Those patina paints must be for painting the icons. I mean, a patina is that tarnished greenish sheen that metal gets on it after awhile so maybe its for making metal icons look antique? I'm assuming you would kind of dry brush it over the icon so that the patina paint would catch on the high points, just like a real patina would develop over time. It would be cool if you could find a small metal sculpture of some sort to try it on!
Mostly some items of jewellery, fridge magnets and other such knick knacks, haha! There are a couple of things being featured in my next video (briefly).
I want to see a good review of Old Holland. I have some of those colours and to me they seem more classy or something …it differs from other colours I tried that is viewed as good. A piece of magic. I heard they are a bit harder to work with. But I’m a beginner
That was so exciting! Some of these products I have never seen myself even though I'm Greek and live in Athens. I am so glad you got to try Rosa Gallery watercolors! You will not be disappointed. 🎉 The patina paints (kiropatina or wax patina) say that they are a multi purpose paint ideal for paper, wood, fabric, glass, metal, plastic and especially for faux leather or leather I believe. Also where did you find those art creations sketchbooks with the white pages? I would like to get them as well 😊
Thank you so much for explaining what the little jars are for! I didn't know they could be applied to so many surfaces so that's great to know. I may find a use for them yet, haha! I bought those white page Art Creation sketchbooks at Panchroma. I've linked them in the description so hopefully you can find their store. 😊
Hello I have sent you an email to ask you a Question , Ah I thought you would buy the Orange tins , oh you have some lovely things hahahaha Lovely haul Happy swatching xxxxxxxx
I saw your first greece video store tour and i said id wouldve bought rosa and i definitely wouldve bought a greece coloring book, i really like the ink bottle thats really pretty and i also wouldve bought the little homemade sketch book, thats really cute..we both have somewhat same art supplies buying altho i wouldve found a way ti buy the derwent pencils in my area you have to buy on line unless you want to drive a hour to nearest art store..i wouldve justify the derwent other purschases by saying they could be my xmas present..
Ah yes, early Christmas presents! 😂 I have also been known to drive an hour or more to get to a particular art store, lol. Derwent is definitely more popular in Australia than it was in Greece.
They're a very boutique German brand, where all of the watercolours are handmade, so I don't think they produce a whole lot of them by comparison to larger companies.
Ooh curious about Old Holland and the Rembrandt set looks lovely, I wish there were more natural wood sets, they’re so much more aesthetically pleasing
I love wood boxes, and this set just had to come home with me! I can't wait to get those Old Hollands into a palette as well. It'll probably have to be a plastic palette as that's all I have left in my studio, lol.
Apologies if my audio is a little weird - I'd set my filming gear up in a new configuration, and since making this video I've realised that my microphone was slightly blocked so the sound is not fully balanced (long story!). I can't decide either, I keep changing my mind as to which is going first, haha! 😂
My vote is for the watercolor pencils and the Rembrandt wooden box set. Also the Van Gogh set seems interesting.
Thank you! Everything will be reviewed eventually, I just keep changing my mind as to what order they'll be in, haha!
Wow the Rembrandt box! So cool!
A great selection of art supplies. Looking forward to you creating fun and interesting art. Thank you!
Thank you, I hope I can think of some good things to paint, heheh.
Nice haul. I LOVE that little wooden Rembrandt box!

The vanGogh watercolors are from the brand Royal Talens Sakura. VanGogh is the students grade while Rembrandt is their artist grade quality.
I thought Sakura was a separate company? Or is RT becoming one of those giant corporations who owns loads of companies....?🤔

It'll be my next video! Not sure how good of a review it is though...let's just say I had some unexpected issues! 😂
Yay art haul!
I've missed making them, though my wallet had a nice break until Greece, lol!
That was so exciting! Some of these products I have never seen myself even though I'm Greek and live in Athens. I am so glad you got to try Rosa Gallery watercolors! You will not be disappointed. 🎉
The patina paints (kiropatina or wax patina) say that they are a multi purpose paint ideal for paper, wood, fabric, glass, metal, plastic and especially for faux leather or leather I believe.
I found it...have sent a reply. 🙂 You know I couldn't resist that orange paintbox!
@@BeckyTregear Just got up hahahha yes you haul was lovely. I love your sketch books the tallons ones ,,ohhhh my fav hahahaha Happy swatching
These little jars seem like patina waxes. You will find videos on UA-cam about using them, although it might be different brand.
Thank you, I think the general consensus is they are indeed patina wax. I guess I'll have something new to learn, haha. 😂
The Rembrandt pan wrappers are their most recent design, so its not old and certainly not vintage.
That's what I was thinking, but that box just ain't anywhere online that I can see! Maybe they changed the outer packaging to the black boxes?
@@BeckyTregear Maybe?
It is a gilding wax :) it's used a lot in mixed media
Thank you - I shall use it for future mixed media projects!

Posca does have the metallic colours now. You can get other ones for decorative work but I have found they are not that great.
I have never heard of Kremer watercolors
They're a very boutique German brand, where all of the watercolours are handmade, so I don't think they produce a whole lot of them by comparison to larger companies.
Best wishes from Germany. Hope you liked Greek? I've never been there. Hope you're fine?
We had a good time, thank you! 😊
U can use google translate easy 😊
Nick usually translates for me, heheh.
Cera patina = patina wax.
Thank you very much! ❤
I think the paint is for antiquing
Yes, it seems to be according to a few comments.
First!
You’re the best! And first, of course 😊
@@pastelsgirl Wow! Aren’t you kind and generous 😃. Thanks!
