I'm so torn between the Subsequent 37 and the Grandmother. I already have a Mother-32 and I've heard the GMA and Mother are a great pair but I have the sinking feeling that I'm going to freak out about not being able to save presets, even though I feel like the exploration aspect of not being able to save them is beneficial to music making. On the flip side, the Subsequent 37 sounds super great at more cinematic/atmospheric patches which is more tuned to my style and not as harsh as the GMA. Choices, choices :/
It’s 8:00 on the watch and the sequence starts. 8:10, the wife comes into the studio and says “can you turn it down a bit, I can’t here my show” thanks, baby.
I recorded this through an audio interface, at the time I had a Behringer UMC204HD I think :) The Sub37 is plugged into the Ventris (1 input, stereo output) then into the audio interface.
I love this song. I just got myself a Sub37 and would love to make stuff like this. Could you tell me, Did you record all the parts (Sub 37 ones) separately? As in, you recorded the ARP parts, then the bass and then the lead? Cheers
Toby Webber - While I’m not the original artist, I wanted to provide some assistance with your question. You would need to record each part separately as described to achieve a similar result. I will add that while you may use the “Duo mode” to play single oscillator lines while the arp latches to a sequence, your sound may be affected overall. In this case, you may just program and record each part. Hopefully, this makes a little sense and helps on your creative journey. PS - I’m a happy owner of the Subsequent 37 and loving it.
Hey dude, so sorry for the late reply, and glad you enjoyed the video :) As the other guy said, the parts are all recorded separately and then combined together. You can sort of get a 'bass-and-lead' sound together by using duo mode, and I uploaded a video where I used that feature a few months back :)
How do you modulate the wave shape with the filter envelope? I’m away from my machine right now, and feeling a little foggy, but I can’t think of how I would do that! Thanks so much!
Flick the Mod source to "F. Eg/Pgm", then change the Mod at the bottom (Mod 1/Mod 2) to Osc 1 and/or Osc 2 Wave. Increase Mod 1/2 amount to desired level - if using Mod 1 you'll also need to put the mod wheel up to the desired level.
I have the same combo, Subsequent 37 and DSI Rev2. I freak out ever time I play them together. These manufacturer and devices are epic!!!!
Same combo as well. That Ventris also sounds great. Nice song. How did you sync the arp with the drums?
im going for sub37+ ob6 combo.. synthwave heaven
Excellent work, very captivating! Love the sound the sub37 produces!
Thank you very much :) It is a wonderful synth!

Damn dude, we have the same combo of synths.
It's a pretty sweet combo don't you think?
Nice!
hey! may i ask what delay you are using? sounds great
I used Fruity Delay 2, which comes with FL Studio. It can be a little tricky to get it sounding right but it's decent!
@@tomgreenmusic thanks bro!
D R Thorpe it’s Ventris Dual Reverb
