I'd actually started recording a Polybrute PFS video, spent 2 hours getting everything set up and mostly recorded and then had some technical issues that killed the whole thing, so here we are with the Sub37! I think it's a nice patch, but I'm not 100% on my explanation of things or the format of the video, so please let me know what you think!!
If you hold down the mod destination button rather than press it (to cycle through the options as you did) and turn whatever knob/press whatever button you want to modulate, it saves all the menu diving and sets the mod destination to whatever you have just pressed/twisted - ie hold the button, twist the mod 2 filter amount and then tune in the amount with the knob next to mod1 selector button. Saves ALOT of menu diving to quickly change mod routings. The things a beast!
Great tutorial, I haven't learned exactly how to use my Sub37, but after watching this, I'm inspired to really get a handle on the many options. Really like the cinematic sounds!
Been watching your videos on the SUB 37 and blown away with how amazing it sounds. I originally bought a sub 25 a few months back before summer but I have decided to sell it and upgrade to the 37 as I just want all the extra features like arpeggiator and additional modulations, not to mention the extra keys 🎹 . Please do more videos like these, they’re hands down the most inspiring / best I’ve seen on UA-cam 🙏🏻✨
Beautiful patch, super inspiring and gave me new insights in this beautiful machine! These kind of dirty sounds and slow jamming is what I usually tend to as well when I'm fooling around , it's just made for it 😁And the reverb.. since I started playing it with that I hardly play it without since. Completely blown away ❤️
Loved the breakdown man! I've heard there's a virtual piece of software that can let you control the sub 37.. would be cool to have that on screen to see a clear picture of the knobs and switches that you adjust
Hey Tom - really nice, great explanation. I want one 😀 but here's a couple of Qs if you would be so kind: I have a Grandmother. Do I need a Sub 37? I have visual probs and would struggle to read the LCD. How much functionality would I get without it? (I can get help with global settings but not so much with programming stuff.)😱 Sorry if the Qs are difficult 😀
This is a really late reply, but if you're looking for duophonic stuff I would look into a midi keyboard with 2 different CV pitch outputs. I believe this would work for the Grandmother by pluggin in to the two oscillator pitch-in sockets. I don't own it, but have a look at the Keysteps, even though they cost a lot.
@@ffsrectinaught2968 Thank you. I appreciate your reply. It wasn't so much about getting specific functionality but I really like the features on the Sub 37 - presets, arp, seq - but have now ruled it out due to so much reliance on the LCD. I now look at what I can use rather than what I would like But really appreciate your comment, thank you.😊

I love that this video is also making everything in my place resonate and ring so hard, effectively you're playing your Moog on my acoustic guitar.

Great video Tommo.. nicely explained throughout for those of us who are a bit 'green' with our subs.. (ha pun intended)_😂😂
