    You're very dedicated to your health and well-being! Lifting weights back in the '80s and '90s was one of the best things I ever did for my health. Now, pushing 70, I continue with light weights, Pilates, and walking. Because of the base muscle I developed back then, it has been easy to maintain my muscle now that I'm a senior. One thing I would like to impart upon your audience is that REST is just as important as working out, particularly with lifting weights. Muscle breaks down during weight lifting and resting allows the muscle fibers to regenerate to build bigger muscle. I make sure to rest one or two days a week from resistance exercise. I walk on those days off. The body needs to recover, otherwise muscle wasting will occur. And to support your muscle, a person needs to eat adequate protein.

      Hi, it sounds like you are doing all the right things. I agree, rest is important. I take at least 2 as well, on which I will just do some cardio, yoga or a long walk

      @dmdr11 great inspiration. I'm trying to work out whether I should continue working out at home or get a gym membership. I hear you should lift heavy. I don't have such heavy weights. My main strength is from pilates. I don't know if that is enough.

      @@manymoms920 Hi, thank you for your kind words. There is a bit of a debate on if it is better to lift heavy and fewer reps or lighter with more reps. Personally I think that the weights should be challenging enough, but we of course also need to have good form. You could always get a heavier set of dumbbells for at home...

      @@manymoms920 It depends what your goals are. If you want significant muscle, Pilates won't be enough. You can get a membership for a year or two until you establish and reach your goal, then you can continue at home. Some people are more motivated in a lifting environment with others around. Some are motivated enough at home.
      Lifting heavy isn't always necessary. It would be more for strength than for building shapely muscle (I know that sounds counter-intuitive). What's more important for building muscle are 1) Technique - not only performing a move correctly, but truly "feeling it"; that is concentrating on feeling the movement, feeling your muscles flexing, almost a visualization too. Results involve more than just "going through the moves" or getting through a set, but your focus and *intention*, and 2) Mixing it up - the best progress actually comes not from lifting heavy all the time, but from "fooling" the muscles with different intensities; that is, different # reps/sets each time, different speed of movement. If you do the same exercises, same # sets, same # reps, same poundage, same speed each and every workout, your muscles become complacent, they know what to expect (there's really such a thing as "muscle memory") and they're not challenged. So, one day, you might lift heavy for fewer reps and lift super slowly and the next time, you might go very light for high reps. And those different approaches will work your muscles differently for a well-rounded result.

      Whoa Claudia!! You are such an inspiration! Those videos are so well done and professionally balanced! Look out Jane Fonda!😄 My high school athletes that I have trained would even be challenged by your routines! The only other idea I have in regards to your routines is to add some rotator cuff exercises to keep those shoulders stabilized especially the right one. Very very impressive workouts!!!

    Hello Claudia ! Your workout routine has a lot of variety and you can see the results in how fit and toned you look especially your legs wow ! I checked out Caroline Girvan after seeing someone mention her on one of your past videos . I do her workouts now and boy was I sore . I do miss the gym especially the machines I stopped during Covid and found Fabulous 50’s , she has a wide variety for Mature women . Thank you for sharing your workouts ❌⭕️

    I started weight lifting 5 days a week, also doing 2 days a week HIIT for about 20-25 minutes, and 4 days a week of walking with a weighted vest -- plus eating higher protein than I have in the past -- about 140 grams a day. (I weigh over 160 pounds). I've already lost 3 inches in my waist and across the largest part of my belly in about 6 weeks. I'm so shocked and pleased this is working for me and I'm feeling so much stronger, physically. It's great! Love weight lifting!

    I mainly do weights and kettle ball. Also, a bike. I used to jump which I loved, but stopped because i am afraid it will wreck my knees...

      It sounds like you’re doing some great things. If you love, jumping, personally, I would add it back in. Doing some plyometrics can be really helpful to keep our bones strong.

    Thanks for sharing your routine. WOW, your middle name must be “superwomen”…. Amazing what you do.The results speak for themselves , bravo👏🏻💪🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻 you look fabulous. since your last week video I have gone higher on my weights for my arms and back. Personally, I do yoga and walking 3 to 5 times a week also stretch daily. I like your recommendation on getting a personal trainer, to get the right form and exercises.     Hi Claudia, fantastic workouts, thank you for sharing. My workouts are very similar, albeit doing home workouts. I also love to skip (jump rope). Please can you do an updated "what I eat in a day". Would be great to have some food inspiration as a vegan trying to build muscle. You have an amazing physique by the way. Kind Regards.

    Thanks for sharing your workouts. They definitely work for you as you look amazing! I used to work out at home but joined a gym about 1.5 years ago and I love it. I do 4 strength training workouts a week. 2 upper and 2 lower. I also walk everyday and work on core.
    I agree that it just becomes a habit and is a non negotiable just like brushing your teeth combing your hair etc. I don’t really think you can rely on motivation. It has to become a habit that you just do without really thinking about it. I’m not always motivated to work out but I do it anyways. Hope you have

      I do reformer Pilates 3-4 times a week. It definitely helps with toning and of course your core. I also do strength workouts at home with dumbbells and walk. I actually use the UA-cam channels she shared.

    Hi Claudia, I’m in tears as I miss working out so much. I am going to be joining a Welness Center and get started back to weight lifting etc. I of course will have a personal trainer as with my spinal injury and just one yr post op from spinal cord surgery ( 6th one) I know my personality and I tend to really go full force and over do it. I was always obsessed with weight lifting , roller blading 4 mi/day and jogging 4mi/ day. Also did aerobics. I at soon to be 63 have lost most of my muscle mass and it discusses me. Thank you so MUA for encouraging me to get back at it. I do not want to be a feeble 70 yr old. lol. You really made me realize more just how much I miss working out. You are so dedicated in all that you do. You’ve got great endurance. You and Sammy remind me of myself and my tiny toy poodle Phoebe. I miss having a fenced in back yard, but it’s also a good thing as it keeps me walking. 😊😅

    Claudia!.... I'm impressed, that was a great and varied (importantly varied) routine example.... these were great exercises and no doubt will be extremely helpful to those who are thinking of getting and sticking closely to a 'routine'..as well of course to those already with a training programme, whatever the goals FITNESS /PHYSIQUE the.wellbeing' effects for me are the most appreciative I get from weight training as well as the other obvious benefits.....so Kudos to you Claudia👍,...very inspiring👏

    I love all the great ideas! I like that you change things up. I have done Caroline Girvan's workouts and really like them! I have recently started jumping rope and I'm messing up quite a bit. Let's hope I get better with time. What are your thoughts on walking with a weighted vest? Love your videos!

      I think walking with a weighted vest seems to be promising as far as increasing bone density. I would say it’s definitely worth a try

    Thank you for sharing your workouts! What time of day do you tend to work out? I used to be so disciplined and I am definitely not there right now. In fact I’m in Physical Therapy for a back injury. I sustained when I bought a new rowing machine. It’s impressive how much you pack into your workouts. Congratulations you look fantastic!!!

    Claudia you should take once a day a mix of very efficient essential amino acids called AMINO-THER (which is also excellent in collagen/elastin synthesis).

      The first one is Caroline Girvan, I did not recognise the other one. I highly recommend Caroline’s programmes, especially Iron, Heat and Fuel. They last 30 minutes and they are highly effective. I have done done Caroline’s programmes for over two years and I never get bored with them.

    Claudia, how do you like living in Virginia? My husband and I are thinking of retiring there because of the affordability and proximity to ocean. I also have family and friends out that way. We’re thinking of Williamsburg or maybe outside of Charlottesville.

      Hi Kathryn, we were just there for 3 months. In fact I am in San Diego now. But it is charming. Nice beaches and cute towns, but very humid

    I have always done at-home workouts with UA-cam. All you need do is start with one small set of dumbbells then add to your collection as you get stronger. Eventually you'll have your own gym. There are exercises which mimic all gym machines - and who the heck wants to go to a gym?! Ew.

    I wanted to get laser treatment on my face, but I heard on one of your videos that it caused fat loss in your face? I tried to look through your channel for more info, but couldnt find it. One of your videos said laser doesnt cause facial fat loss. So im not sure can you clear this up for me please? thank you
    Im assuming you got the wrong treatment of laser that caused the fat loss, but I wanted to make sure

      Hi,I think it was more the radio frequency microneedling than the laser. If you get a laser treatment, I would highly recommend to go to a skilled provider to minimise any risks
