Hi Richard, thank you for finding us a beautiful home in Montemagno, Lovely views all around. We are very happy and please with it. Thanks for all your help. Elena.
Thank you Elena! It was a real pleasure to work with you and I'm so happy we played a part in finding you your beautiful home. We hope to see you soon...!!
So glad I found your channel. It is my dream to move to Italy and especially to the Piedmont area. Don’t know if that will ever happen but it’s what I wish for.
Thank you so much. Our family began planning to move to Italy. Piemonte is one of the regions we consider. My husband will retire in a year and a half it’s when we plan to make that leap. We began exploring and learning already and every bit of information will be really helpful. Will look forward to your next videos. Grazie!
Thank you!! Paesana, I think I have been there but will take a look. I intend to make more informative videos about the area and can feature it, for sure. Thanks!
Richard; You have my attention. Just found you and will dig through all of your uploads. I am excited as I am looking at Italy as a buyer. THANK YOU for what you do. :) LIKED! and subscribed.
I would encourage you to go and see Cuneo, a very elegant town with skying slops within half an hour and gorgeous walks from spring to late autumn ... as well as fantastic restaurants
So glad to have found your channel. We are in the suburbs of Atlanta Georgia. Dream one day of moving to Europe. In the meantime researching Southern France and northern Italy. Plan to visit next spring hopefully things will be better then. We will definitely take advantage of your information and get in touch before visiting.
Hi Rebecca, thank you!! Feel free to get in touch. I really hope you can come. We love it here, you will too. Feel free to email me - re.langhe@gmail.com
Bravo on all this information my fiancé and I have just purchased a property in San Desiderio in Calliano and have found this information very useful. Un abbraccio forte 😊
Interested about buying something that needs work, rather than something ready to move into. As such, curious about permits, construction / refurb, if you buy a small old structure what does it take to add sqm, or if there are small windows what does it take to put modern large windows. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Hi! Good questions!! Normally you can add 20% to an existing structure. Window sizes can normally be changed. I have some nice project houses and some new ones coming in. By all means contact me directly. I'll be happy to hear from you.
A big thanks to everyone for all your comments, likes and for subscribing. I'm working hard on the next video - Piedmont Explained - I hope to upload it on Monday. If you are interested in finding a home in Piedmont please do not hesitate to contact me. Richard langhe.property
Enjoying your videos. The big QUESTION is how difficult is Italian to learn, for Americans? Secondly what is the TAX SITUATION FOR RETIREES.? Thirdly what are the Visas available, how difficult are they to obtain? Thanks Deck
we are very interested in moving to italy for retirement, and would even like to move sooner, as my husband works remote and could finish the small time left before retirement while living there.
Perhaps this is covered in another comment, but I would like to ask if you have any specific recommendations regarding other parts in Italy. We are looking into Aosta Valley for instance. Thanks!
Hi David, I really hope to have it done today. It's long and detailed so is taking some time. By all means give me a call. I'm always ready for a chat on Zoom!
I love the winter here. We don't get snow nowadays but the air is always clear so the views are great. I would prefer it warmer in all honesty but it's really not so bad and all over before you know it. Thanks!!
Very helpful information and I appreciate it. My question is about how to work with Realtor, meaning you, overseas? I am thinking that it's best to make a trip to experience the cities under consideration, then return for the closing? Maybe using an app for Realtor to show video of property before making an office? This would make a good video.
I was very impressed by Turin and amazed by how reasonable the costs were when I visited in 2019. On the other hand, I'm pretty happy here in San Francisco; we have many similar advantages. What's the best way to get a more extended experience of the Piedmont region before making a decision about buying?
Hi Andrew, we're helping people buy homes that have never been to the region before but of course, visiting is the only way to really get to know it. Explore the area first, decide what your needs are, the choose the right area to buy a home. It's not a good idea to just look at a bunch of houses then decide - people end up choosing the house and not the area and this can lead to regret. Richard
Hi John, I just had something come in yesterday that has the most amazing position, with land and stunning views, and the price is low. Please feel free to call me. Details on my website! Richard
This one really. If you have any specific questions drop me an email. If you have any suggestions for another video, let me know ;-) I'm just setting myself up to do more videos. Thanks!
@@richardedwards7780 thank you for your reply!! Really appreciated looking at your videos as available here, looking forward to the next ones addressing all the fine details, local laws, protected buildings, restoration rules, fees, etc... Thank you
RIchard -- Excellent videos. Thank you. Q: My wife and I are U.S. citizens, but she can qualify for an Italian passport by descent (grandparents on both sides). Would going through that step (which may be time consuming) help in the house buying process?
Hi Fredrick, Thanks! No, it makes no difference when buying a house - you can buy a house if you have or do not have citizenship. It does make a difference if you want to get residency. By all means, email me!
We are from Israel ( originally from Ukraine) For me is very hard to continue to leave here. Looking for quiet, quality place. It is for me. Want to ask for your help.
The public health service is excellent in Italy and you only pay for tests. If you get residency you can use the health system. Even non-residents can but you are limited to 3 months stay.
Hi Sara, thanks! For sure there are some really great places. I have to limit my area, already I have to travel so much. There are also the Lakes that are amazing. My area is just Monferrato, Roero and Langhe so I leave the explaining of other parts of the region to others far more qualified than me! I lived in Torino for 2 years and hated it but that was just my view, I know many people that love it.
Hi Richard.....shot in the dark, but thought I'd ask....My dad talked frequently about his Piedmont father, my grandfather, of the late 19th century living in a stone farmhouse near Ivrea. The name is Maggiorino Martinetti. Is there a data base of properties showing who owned what and where? If you could snap a photo of the property, icing on the cake. Will check back to see if this is a yes.
Sorry 'b' I'm nowhere near Ivrea.. it's not an area I work in. I did a Google search but nothing came up - I'm sure you tried too. It was probably in one of the villages outside and that's a big area. You could write to the 'comune' (town call) of Ivrea and ask them. I hope this helps!
@@langheproperty Thanks! Always wondered how people traced their genealogy.....the records of every church, big and small, would have to be digitized to be available on-line.
OK... if you have to ask, you can't afford me. :-) But seriously, in most cases, if you buy a house the agent will pay me so - I'm free! By all means email or if you want a chat on Zoom I'll be happy to meet you.
Asti has a good rail link and the main highway right through it so is excellent for easy travel. Milan is less than a two-hour drive and Turin one hour. I live 20 mins from Asti and find it very convenient. Hope this helps!

Hi! I have noticed that lots of houses have metal bars on the windows, even the houses in the country side. It is a bit strange for me leaving in Oslo, Norway where we barely lock the doors. Are break-ins something of a regular occurrence? Thanks in advance, Evgeny
Hi Luca, good question! Crime is not a big problem here. There’s always the chance of a house being broken into, of course, but we rarely hear of problems. I think it mostly due to old type windows not being strong so without bars you could get into a house with a spoon! Italians are security conscious too. With modern windows, they’re not necessary. Personally, I hate them, but many people when they restore, prefer to keep them as they feel it’s authentic style. Hope that answers the question! Be sure to message me if you need help with anything. Richard
